- Finesse fishing is by far my favorite way to catch a bass. There's just something special about reeling in a big bass on really light line. In this video, I break down a finesse rig that is near and dear to my heart that I truly believe has taken the back burner to more popular rigs right now. Watching this video has given me hope as this year to me has been tough.
Good tips on the different heads. Thanks.
Thanks Andrew ! Very helpful information ...
Great video. Thanks.
I agree and always have one tied on. In Central Florida it's a down right killer when fished right behind someone else who is power fishing. Especially in deeper drops say from 10 to 18 ft of water. It does something to the bigger fish that's just unreal. It's like someone else woke em up and made them angry with a noisy big crank then a long comes the tiny little snack they just say yes to. It's been my sneaky approach this year and day in and day out the same fish from yesterday will eat again today. I like how u broke it all down. Great advice
I really enjoy your videos.
Thanks!
Gotta love ole Andrew Upshaw
Thanks Konnor!
Great video and explanation of each different shakey head
Thanks Michael!
Thanks for this video. Been catching a ton of fish on shaky head this week. Caught several good fish with the biggest was 6.6.
Lost another big one today on Ned rig. Rookie mistake, fish ran line into trolling motor.
Loved the humor, subscribed for that reason.
Thanks for subscribing!!
Throw in more humor, you do it good. Lol
Got my very first shakey head bass this morning! Thanks for the tips and help!
Heck yea man! Glad they worked for you
Bro that Giggy head looks amazing! How have I never seen one of those? Lol
An EXCELLENT shakey head breakdown. Detailed , but still simple. Thank you for all your help ! Best wishes.
Thanks for watching Tom!
Videos are getting better and better! Keep them humble and teach us.
Thanks Darrell. I’m still learning so thank you for sticking with me!
Awesome job Andrew. Always enjoy watching your videos.
Thanks Thane!
You are correct or has been over shadowed an it’s a shame cause it’s a nice application to throw in summer cause on all of our lakes really get hammered down here in Alabama in pickwick or Tennessee River chains very good video.
No doubt. Still a big fish producer, too.
Enjoyed it!
Thanks!
the giggy head designed by Brian down on Sam Rayburn best shaky head hands down lol
Ol Branum. He’s a good dude
Another great video. Thanks!
Thanks Matt!
Brilliant video Andrew! Not sure if you have ever paired the Xcite Baits X-Lock JigHead with the Xcite Baits Raptor Tail Jnr floating craw. Deadly combination! Moaner Stiffy Jig is also very similar!
I haven’t tried that bait, but love the jighead
Great video Andrew and I along with other Anglers appreciate your candor and honesty when talking about what you use and why.
Thanks a ton man🙏
Got to shake your hand at Champlain last year, thanks for sharing your knowledge on shaking a worm!
Thanks for watching! Appreciate meeting everyone!
Thanks for the info. I don’t fish it much but after you explained it. I going to put more time in fishing it.
You will be surprised how good it works!
Really appreciate your videos!👍 Where in Texas are you moving?
Dude that Jersey is sick
Appreciate it! I’m fond of it myself.
Thanks Andrew, a lot of good information. Love your videos. Keep up the good work and keep them coming.
Thanks Rick!
I'm 50 years old and never fished a shaky head until this summer. I started catching bass immediately. I'm really excited to fish this rig more and gain some knowledge and confidence.
It’s a phenomenal way to catch bass. Hope this helps a little. Happy 4th!
Thanks for all the detail on this. I have to put this to work!
Would you be willing to do a tackle organizing video, by lure/technique. I have stuff in plastic bags and I think it may be overkill for my kayak fishing. So basically, how you decide what to bring and what not to bring.
So I consider the weightless plastic baits as the ultimate in finesse fishing techniques.
Good video
Awesome job on gaining 7k brother.
Thanks man!
Class act , thanks Andrew. Some people give ya s*** for being in your jersey, that's what professionals do when representing sponsors. Its better than a unshaven, short sleeve, flip flops wearing guy giving me his recommendations, lol. Thanks again.
I’ve been that guy too. Lol but I try to look the part from time to time.
The shaky head has been a secret weapon for me fishing as a coangler. Its very versatile. I haven even flipped them into heavy cover and had a lot of success with them.
It’s a big deal out of the back of the boat!
@@AndrewUpshawFishing very much so. Gives them that different look. I've even outfished my boater a few times using it. Saved my season this year a lot
Hey Andrew....if you haven't tried the megastrike shakey heads you are missing out on a good one ! Most shakey heads actually let the worm roll over and drag along the bottom sideways. ( check out Fish the Moment"s pool vidoes ) The megastrike heads have a very unique shape and feature a fulcrum so that they are almost impossible to roll over.....they are actually kind of a pain in a tackle tray since they by nature want to stand up. Not sponsored or affilated with them, just a very happy customer ! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and passion, always look forward to your vids.
Thanks man! I understand your point on them. The one with the nail would be the one I would use, but they don’t make it in an 1/8th.
🔥
Man this lure is a staple on the TN river. 3/16 0z and a trick worm, hang on.
Heck yea!
Great video! keep grinding!!
Thanks Justin!
No matter what time it is, you just make it to where I want grab my rods and head to the honey hole lol... you're vids are great and very informative! I been fishing the Strike king river bug on a Shakey head for some creek smallies and it's a blast! Glad you made the vid so I can try some new stuff, best of luck and stay safe out there!
It’s funny you say that, a good buddy of mine’s favorite bait is the River Bug too!
Thanks for the tips. I recently started trying a shaky head, myself, and I'll be using your tips tomorrow, for sure.
I hope it works for you!
Good stuff Upshaw. And I like that lake you're on. :D
It can be pretty good!
Andrew save me from those guns!! lol
Right? 😂🤷♂️
Good video!! Going to try this technique with some trick worms.
It definitely works with a trick worm.
Shakey head got it done today, no fish for the first two hours then 10 in about 30 mins.
That’s how you do it! Great job!
Ohhhh man I've been throwing that rig forever hahah just kidding brotha hey love the videos keep it up man
😂 thanks man!
out standing job making this video love love LOVE the Shakey head and it's not just for worms eather try it with a craw it to is deadly
No doubt, thanks for watching!
The first 4 are Strike King.
The first four shaky heads are Strike King?
Hey Andrew! You “nailed” it (no pun intended). The 3/16 Frenzy Nail has been my only shaky head on Lanier for 5-6 yrs now. Absolutely love it! It’s funny you mentioned the VMC rugby 1/8 head too. I use that all the time in ponds and smaller bodies of water, mainly with a brush hog or man bear pig. Overall awesome video!
Thanks Mike. I actually used the Frenzy Nail at Lanier when I was there for the FLW Tour👀
The absolute best shakey head hands down is the Boss Brent Erhler shakey head that can be found at Tackle Warehouse
Not cheap but by far the best hooking on the market. No toolset required, just reel set and the hook doesn't just penetrate but passes through the jaw.
great video! I'm a big fan of the giggy head too.
Thanks man!
Man I’ve been throwing that rig since I was old enough to cast, wish I had a jersey like that, well in a mans size. Sorry jus given ya some, I’ll try to hit that like on every video, come up to CLE/216, we’ll hit em all
Oh, and I still throw the regular ball style jig hook
Thanks for watching the videos! It’s all good Man! The old school ball head still works wonders!
Saving us from the guns 💪🏻 eh? What you keep in the boat? Glock, Smith and Wesson, revolver semi automatic? And it was 1873 😂😂
More like BB guns 😂
Andrew Upshaw Fishing forget the guns bb or .50 caliber. The question is when the hell we getting the RUclips summary video holding the big cardboard check with 6 digits on it that comes with a free 🏆 now we know you can fish a shaky head ✅ tournament win- ⁉️
Honestly I’ve thought about doing it. Might be my next video, who knows!
Hey Andrew miss seeing all of you guys with Scott Martin and B Lat and the whole bunch! Maybe you guys can get together sometime this year before it to late.
I know, right? We should all be together at Rayburn!
Throw a 10" bull worm on a ½oz bladed jig.
I have not tried that, but you have me intrigued!
That frenzy nail is my go to on pickwick!!! Thought I was the only one throwing it out this way lol
It’s really good!
I feel like i would have enjoyed this video more without the long conversation as an introduction. Maybe Im wrong, but I almost clicked it off before I got to the good stuff!
Glad you didn’t click away!
@@AndrewUpshawFishingIt had a LOT of good stuff for the record.
What's up brother? I love the content. That shaky head info is gold. Thanks for sharing. By the way, your camera guy Sean is a great bud of mine.🎣😎
He’s a good dude. Thanks for tuning in!
Cover up the guns lol
I like your chanel 🤟👍 keep it reel get it lol
Right? Lol
@@AndrewUpshawFishing that was a mouthful fa fer fa ferrr wtv nois he maid lol it was graet
What kind of aluminum boat you using......It looks like the color of my blue lowe.....It looks nice and big.....
It’s a Lowe Stinger 198. I use it solely for Let’s Fish TV shows. Otherwise I use my Bas Cat Eyra.
I’ve watched RUclips fishing vids for a while now. I really enjoy yours. Thanks. Only thing is, after watching your vids, I want to buy the stuff you use...lol.
I really appreciate that you take the time to watch my videos. Disclaimer: i can’t be responsible for excessive buying😂
What happened to the forgotten split shot? "Splitshotting"?
I should do a video on that!
Andrew - "colors don't matter to me"
Also Andrew - "junebug is a very important color" lol
I should have clarified. Shades of color matter, but having 10 variations of “watermelon” is unnecessary.
Love the shaky head, but never finessed em. Bout to pick up some 1/8 oz heads and give it a try!
You won’t regret it!
“Oh Man I’ve been throwing that rig forever” 🤣🤣. Great video! Quality video and editing! 💪
Thanks buddy!
Very nice vid Andrew, what leader knot? Been trying to figure out the FG still a work in progress for me
Thanks Randall. I use an aberto and it works just fine for me
That’s what I am currently using, what percent of the time are you using braid/leader combo when you are flipping. Really enjoy the channel
What do you use for braid to Fluor? For Drop Shot. An How much liter line do you use?
I really don’t use much at all. I’m different on a drop shot than most. I still use the old school swivel and leader from that on the drop shot
What 2 worm and colors would you take if you only had 2 too take to Sam Rayburn in early September?
That’s an easy one. Watermelon Red and Red Bug.
Worm’s would be a 6.5” finesse worm and a Recon Worm (Ribbon Tail 8-10”)
@@AndrewUpshawFishing thanks man
Watch them muscles chief. The jersey is slimming as well.
BB guns locked and loaded! 😂
Jersey situation is simple. If you have earned it and are working with sponsors that require you to wear it, excellent. If you made it yourself online and wear it cuz you want to misrepresent yourself and your situation, not good.
Agreed!
@@AndrewUpshawFishing you my friend, have certainly earned it my man! Good stuff.
Thank you!
hello i love the video i fish on the Potomac from the bank what would you advise for those tough days
The Slider Head is a great option. Pair it up with a Blue Fleck colored KVD Fat Baby Finesse Worm and hang on!
@@AndrewUpshawFishing thank you so much i watch all of your videos
Thanks for watching and I hope that works for ya!
I got I think my phone on a shaky head we didn’t have a scale but they was for sure over five they was fat like really fat and long so I for sure I got my on on a shaky head
Heading to Guntersville to throw some now! What guns?
😂😂🤷♂️
Oh God here we go, this guy must be a "pro"he has a jersey...lol jk Upshaw someone had to give ya shit. Thanks for the knowledge!!
😂right?
I've seen guns blow-up and it ain't pretty....even dangerous. Thanks for the solid, Andrew!
Thanks Michael😂
That too funny show ur guns
😂😂😂
Regular rugby head or finesse rugby?
I use both honestly. Depends on the length and thickness of the worm.
I think its an over looked rig too good call andrew
Thanks buddy!
Well, Andy, I'd unsubscribe and re-subscribe if it counted. By the way, I've been building spinning rods since 1980. (I quit fly fishin,)
That’s awesome. I’ve been fly fishing a few times and sucked at it! Lol
