Elon released the patent. That means he WANTED this, so, go ahead! compete! All he wanted was electric vehicles to replace internal combustion. So, no middle finger needed.
labelfree904 He enev replied to somr tweets that he actually wants the mentality to change, not necesarily to get super successful..
Right. That’s what no one understands. Elon doesn’t give a shit about competition. He wants other companies to try and build better cars and rockets, so he can build better stuff on his own again.
For the truck ?
I heard about this in 2014. I don't know whether they released it for their new vehicles or not.
ReaperChief because they really want to make money off the superchargers and sell batteries
labelfree904 I'm always amused when anyone cites to defeat Elon, or get something to market faster. He legitimately wants his endeavors to work, and not for his sake.
Giant middle finger to you because this is what Elon wanted altogether. Tesla cannot sustain the World's need by itself, thats an Elon quote.
No. More importantly he can’t fund the establishment of the market by himself. Big difference with making products that already exist, there is a market that you attract market share of. When you have to pay to establish a market and the product you’re almost doomed. It has nothing to do with not being able to service the market, there isn’t one to begin with.
@@matthewyabsley there's actually a massive worldwide market for electric vehicles.
MechanicalCheeze - But that’s not the point. There wasn’t a worldwide market for electric vehicles when he started. That confidence that had established the market (to a degree) came from
The investment in creating it. That didn’t come from Tesla alone, which is the point. As a single player you have all the costs of establishing a market, with many other players you have a shared cost of establishing the market.

@@Dan23_7 I read this in Bill Burr's voice.
Exactly
This is proof Elon succeeded by making the Tesla Semi. He told the world that we're ready for cleaner vehicles and people are following. More competition in the electric vehicle market, the better.
SolarWingXI over priced electric motors. lol
I routing for him, what's not being asked though is how much it will weigh. There are weight limits on trucks and it includes the truck and cargo both. If, it does indeed weighs more than diesel, it cant legally haul as much. The way I see it, mysk will need to lobby for exceptions in the law for electric trucks.
gt5228z I know about weight limits. I drive a Kenworth T680 and it weighs in around 8tons. I think Tesla can lighten the truck, guess I'll have to wait and see though.
SolarWingXI I hope your right! Think the model s is 5400 lbs, a gas version would be no more than 1ton
SolarWingXI well at this moment full electric vehicles are much more poluting than a combustion engine... it makes so much polution to just create the batteries and the energie that goes in the battery of the truck.. so it still needs improvement tho I think that hybrids are the best choice at this moment
I'm a Tesla fan, but more than that I'm a fan of any movement towards clean energy. I hope this company succeeds.
nah can't compete with TSLA everything about this truck is just inferior
Tenzin Thinley but they almost never make profit. I think their investor will fed up. But i like his work anyway.
Homo Quantum Sapiens
thank you!
Tenzin Thinley he'll yeah
It’s not really clean because how do you think we get the electricity
The more competition, the better. We need battery innovation fast.
TheSinglePlayer It always sounded to me that was Elon’s main idea. To inspire the world to get the game on
Chinese electric cars and trucks already have graphene batteries. We'll see them in the US shortly.
GongoLongo lmao. That’s just vaporware
No such things as graphene batteries for mass production
Why only battery though? And not solar hybrids?
And the cost would go down for the poor.
Both fast, both electric and clean..yes Thor and Tesla.
They are truly clean (our electric grid is pretty clean, lithium isn't toxic, batteries are just about always recycled), but they're also completely impractical. Battery technology just isn't good enough to make these trucks useful for anything and there is no charging infrastructure.
musk says his semi's won't roll over and they offer a better drivers position
AKzebraMiner how do you get the electricity then
jon bacon Of coarse it’s not what they call, “Zero Emissions”. I don’t believe in that. The way to be the most environmentally friendly is to buy solar panels on top of your roof. That way, you are using the power of the sun. The grid in some places are actually greener than you think, like in California. You can research but the website has to be new and accurate, not old from like 2010. But even if it isn’t clean, EVs are still cleaner because where do you think you get gas from...? Also, when you make oil, you have to refine it. That takes electricity. Kinda counter intuitive. While EVs might not be fully green and part of the environment, they are significantly better than gas powered vehicles.
Ohhhhh yes
So so "clean"!!
What a FUCKING idiot you are!
Horrible branding. Everyone is going to think it's a Telsa logo.
Karl Nicholas that’s what they want
Karl Nicholas if people think its a tesla and it brings them attention is that really a bad thing? be smart. they probably tried to make it look like tesla
If people think it's a Tesla they are going to give Tesla credit for it. They are going to think, hey look, Tesla is driving an electric truck around. Good for them.
Yea, good luck to them selling Tesla branded electric trucks.
I see Teslas just about every day that that doesn't looks like the Tesla logo to me at all. It looks like a Transformer sort of character. It looks tough compared to Tesla's futurey-slick but decidedly not tough logo.
"is that the tesla?" "No, it's a knockoff."
You should really appreciate the competition, and dont become toxic just because of the design
It’s not a knockoff if the truck you’re referring to isn’t even on the market
@@austinbevis4266 while I see your point, I think you either worded it poorly or it's a bad point. the design/concept is what is being taken when something is a knockoff, it doesn't mean (though it may imply) that it is on the market.
Looks better than Tesla's. 😏
LOL .
This clip was constructed wrong with " middle finger to Elon Musk". Tesla may be competition but Elon doesn't see it that way. The guy left his patents open. Anyone can use it to start something and develop it maybe better than he did with Tesla. And he supports it. Great start for Thor trucks but it would be a tight fit. $150000 for 300 miles, and Tesla semi is $180000 for almost 600 miles. The math is simple, but if they think they can do it I would love to see it on the road someday. :)
Right! This is a salute to Elon Musk, not anything negative, Musk wants the competition to more quickly stimulate clean transportation.
Luka Asanović I totally agree with you it was unnecessary to say give Tesla Elon Musk "the middle finger." Yes it is true the patents are for anyone to grab, Tesla is sharing this with everybody and any company. Even for my wallet I would always buy a Tesla because as a semi driver and future owner operator thanks to Tesla semis, it would be more cost-effective to have a Tesla hands-down.. You can do more driving with 200 extra miles and make a lot more money. So much more money 30,000 is nothing! Most owner operators make an average of $180,000 to $225,000 a year. Therefore in one year you can actually pay off your Tesla semi if you wanted to as any other business would say you want to have more businesses so have more trucks and your outcome would even be greater than that. As for the store company I give it a hands-down just because of its unprofessionalism that was extremely rude and unprofessional to call out Elon Musk and Tesla and to give the middle finger when you are in the same industry trying to do the same or achieve the same goals.
I may be wrong, but I've read that there will be two models: one for $180k that will drive 500 miles, and a cheaper version for $150k that will drive 300 miles. Considering that Tesla can allow itself to build factories to construct accumulators (high cost-effectiveness ratio) and hire programmers able to built sophisticated AI for auto-piloting... There's hardly any competition. With Thor it's likely you will buy bare bone truck, but with Tesla it's features, service and re-assurance in the future as a *bonus* for the same price.
Also, they compared Thor to Tesla and Daimler, whereas Musk himself said that they have no where near the funds that Daimler has (it was in his Twitter and he was talking about investment in electric cars, namely $10 billion that Daimler will invest in years to come). Sure, they are somewhat successful and famous, but by doing so they presented this Thor like that Faraday and another semi-Chinese brand (which I think already failed).
BTW, I'm yet to see vans/small trucks for local deliveries. This could've been something to help them jump-start their business.
A lower ranged truck is probably a better commercial proposition. The problem is, most countries around the world (including the USA) have a limit on how heavy most vehicles on the road are allowed to be. This is technically due to the gross axle weight rating (GAWR), although there's usually also GVM/GVWR to consider, and those batteries weigh quite a bit. So the longer the range your electric truck has, the less actual payload it can carry.
You can see some calculations for yourself at: battery.real.engineering/ .The bottom line is that to get a 500 mile range, you'd need about 7895kg of batteries using modern battery technology. That's going to cut into your payload pretty significantly. Reducing range also reduces battery mass and increases the amount you can carry as payload. Those trucks would then be more likely to be used in short ranged work, helping to deal with heavily congested urban environments, where they are most needed.
The irony is Ashlee Vance is the writer of Elon Musk's biography lol.
Musk ENCOURAGES competition in such fields. It births more advanced technologies.

How is that truck a "giant middle finger" to Elon? They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. The guy even drives a Model S. Also, Elon said in some interview a while back that it's easy to make one of something. The tricky part is mass production. The Thor truck is a one of a kind prototype and a conversion on top of that, according to the video. Tesla has multiple (at least 2) working prototypes of their Semi, built from the ground up. They beat Tesla to nothing. The Semi prototypes can do everything the Thor prototype can *today* and probably a whole lot more (range, autopilot, etc.). The bullet (or nuclear blast) proof windshield could also be a huge thing.
hpoeter except Thor doesn't receive millions of dollars from the government yearly like Tesla
reason why tesla is getting help is because thanks to tesla you have companies like Thor, they pushed industry, some day you might have better electric car than tesla model S and we will still need to thank tesla for competition.Btw GM got even more money
Applaud the innovation and entrepreneurial spirit however. I have personally experienced, something ((similar)) with the Carver production aspirations and problems the plagued it demise. Yes, Carver the three wheeled car. I was part of the Special project department. Like you pointed out building a one off anything is easy. Mass production is fraught with mass problems. Just from a legal standpoint you need more members of legal professionals than currently employed in the entire company. Here is the big one, Tesla has the batteries. Applaud the innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. ruclips.net/video/Ye8MI39VTrA/видео.html
Relax dude, this is a good thing. More people are putting money into the electric automobile market.
Add to that, Elon Musk didn't only set out to make the world a better place but to force the vehicle mass production industry to make a change, and the only way he could do that was if Tesla became successful. Thor (along with everyone else who's making EV's today) is the perfect example of that. These companies need to go where the money is and Tesla has proven that the money is in electric vehicles.

That's cool but what's with the giant grill. Seems unnecessary and bad for drag.
Batteries and electric motors need to dissipate heat, cool batteries live longer.
Fraser Henderson Batteries only heat up during charging. And a single electric motor will never heat up so bad that you need front end air intake. In fact, the motor on this Thor truck is fully exposed.
Unnecessary drag is unnecessary.
David Lopez I bet U it is for cooling. Tesla just still ignores el. motor cooling which is a major flaw...
Jevgeni, ignores motor cooling?
You mean apart from having their car motors/batteries water cooled and tied to a 3 way heat exchanger...
Iunel Kirklin, that is incorrect. All batteries and all electric motors will heat up during use! Do you use a cell phone? Why does it heat up when doing current intensive work such as navigation? Why do you suppose cell phones burn up? If an electric motor can accelerate 80,000 lbs to 60 mph in 20 seconds, something is going to be Very Hot during the process. Physics is hard to grasp for some but it cannot be ignored. Any energy transfer or conversion will lose energy as heat. It's called Entropy.
Don't be silly.

Be mindful of unintended consequences my friend. A disruption in space can lead to a recession, unemployment, collapse of what we rely on. Prosperity can also move away, and leave us holding our dicks wondering what happened. So hold that thought about being glad, hope we don't end up very sad.
Tesla sucks, I hope they go down in flames.
Home of the Mad do you mind sharing your thoughts on why you think Tesla sucks?
No problem, I am glad you asked. Elon Musk is an arrogant liar who is trying to ruin the world of gasoline cars and destroying the good name of institutions. Lucky Goose well, so does Nationalism. Actually, this sector is proving more growth worldwide than its competitors. These electric trucks should be built to a combination of Australian roadtrain specs and conditions, plus Alaskan or Russian sub zero conditons....then you'd have something that would last forever on a smooth road....
I don't think thats right. I think there are horses for courses. Even existing players have different models of trucks because if you try to create one truck for every type of condition - it will be over priced and over spec'd for most business needs. The condition you talk about are safe from electricification for now, they are very difficult conditions to operate in, often very remote, very risky market to enter which is why neither Dialmer nor mitsubishi nor Tesla are planning to put EV's in that market yet
Those sound like the kind of tests I want to be at. Imagine the explosion😆
Tesla has suggested his trucks would gang up to make a train. He is ahead ...as usual
I don’t think it’s fair to call this a slap in the face to Tesla, or beating Tesla to market, or even a real Tesla competitor. They’re going to be hand-building each of these trucks in custom jobs, and only have a few people working there. All the more power to them for going into the field, but this isn’t Apple v Microsoft, it’s Apple v Bob’s Custom Computer Builds
TBestIG apple started up just like thor.
None of these companies will do well selling trucks. Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner and a few others own the markets. Cummins meanwhile, is releasing a electric powertrain, that will be installed into said trucks from factory. Big rigs are not made like a passenger vehicle, they are a mix and match to whatever a fleet wants. Bendix or Haldex brakes? Hendrickson or Meritor suspension? Cummins, Detroit, or Paccar motor?
What Tesla is missing is the most important thing about the industry. Servicability and ease of warranty. Do they have a dealer every 200 miles? Can I buy replacement parts at the local truck parts stores? Waiting a week to receive a few bolts or seals is not an option.
Quite dumb how low it is. They will be times when you might have to go over a curb to back safely or prevent trailer from hitting something
“Middle finger to Elon Musk” but Elon musk actually wants the competition. 🤨Oookkkaaayyyyy whatever floats your boat.

Ben Neo marvel has a copyright on that character. No way they’d let someone use it.
Thor is a character from Norse mythology. You can't copyright that.
I think these guys should focus on the RV market and not trucks since Tesla has already entered that market. I don't know of any electric RVs. That would be cool and it's definitely a huge worldwide market segment.
Then Tesla should enter the RV market and make everyone go out of business
HERRO that's not Tesla's goal. But they could def enter the market why not. Go tweet Elon about it.
Just because Tesla enters a Market doesn't mean they can meet all demand. In fact is the opposite, Tesla wants and needs competitors to enter too. Is why they tend to RELEASE their Patents! Even Paris says is losing the battle for climate change we need every person and company to hop in ASAP! Apart from that Thor Trucks offerings is priced well. 30K less but less range which might be more suited for smaller companies. Thor T looks to become maybe the nissan leaf of SEMI. Hopefully things will go well (and who knows maybe they will also do solar panel RVs)
Manny B. That's right. Also, they don't want to shut down the whole car manufacturing market , cos it would mean a lot of people would lose their jobs, and then high unemployment rates, riots and markets start to fall. As you say all need to chip in. In fact, in Formula E a lot of car manufacturers are making their own mods on electric engines thanks to the open patents from Tesla.
There is a huge market left, tesla is only serving the market for highway trucks. Even if tesla grabs the full market share, there is a lot left for other ev manufacturers. And yes they also start with a highway truck, but there is a lot they could do to find heir place. Just some ideas:
- off road truck for construction and farm.
- maybe even with an electric driven trailer, would offer totally new off road capabilities.
- short cab over designs for better maneuverability in cities and ports.
- Trucks, so far tesla only announced semi trailers.
And if anyone assumes tesla will also serve these markets, despite a huge demand especially in europe, tesla didn't offer a hatchback model s or model 3.
Since rebranding to Xos Trucks, the company has grown strangely quiet
Tesla = stark enterprises
Thor = hammer tech
Dis is too good.
Accurate.
It is 30k cheaper than Tesla's truck. Tesla has 500 range, charging station all over, and fast charging time. What can they do? I hope they can do well but damn I just don't see how they can do it.
Stephen Song at some point charging stations will become standardized. Shell has purchased biggest charging network in Europe. So expect similar things to happen when Gas Stations start to convert or offer charging. A lot of companies are waiting for this to happen. I think we should see mass conversion in a couple of years. Also Tesla has tried to license their stations. Some type of negotiation may come up
They may get a job at tesla :)
Bet tesla would share charging with them. I think Elon would love this company.
Main thing is that Tesla has got a roadworthy autopilot. By 2019 their system will have millions of miles of experience. That's a lot of data to train artificial intelligence. This company will be acquired by competitors of Tesla I suppose, they're a little too good to be left alone.
Most evs are pretty universal. Nissan, bmw, Chevy and kia all use the same station
I like it, but the truck needs sleeping quarters in the back for long hauls. Also, just a nitpick, why is there a grille when it's electric?
XOS now focused on fleet customers... returning to hub end of shift. Charging station nationwide infrastructure yrs away.

2b) if unsealed, how does it compensate for the intake or road grime, dust, salt during the winter, etc.
3) is it using the motor to act as a braking system and if so, is it assisting or replacing the pneumatic brake system?
4) is it using the motor as a "Jake brake" system and if so, is it utilizing any kind of energy recharging technology while doing so.
5) how is internal cab climate control handled and how much will climate control effect the overall range?

Motor cooling really isnt anything complicated or hard to do.
Im not a truck guy, but isnt the fact it hugs the ground like a sports car a really bad idea
@@Angry-Lynx it is when it's an electric motor. Not the same as using coolant to cool a fuel powered engine.
@@timothyhaug2060 Say whaaat? I made water cooling system for electric motor by myself in my rc car. Took few hours and was great fun. You only need radiator, hoses, waterpump and watercooling jacket for motor.
ps and im not even engineer xd
@@Angry-Lynx you are talking about a far smaller system. The Tesla version puts a far larger motor, 2 on each axle, 10 motors in all. Additionally, those motors have to dissipate a far larger amount of heat due to the fact that we also carry loads. Just for a common dry van load, that is at least 17 tons empty and up to 40 tons loaded. Then there is extra heat generated from going up and down hills, and worse, mountains. A water cooling system in such an instance would be so massive as to be impractical. Further, for any kind of coolant, you would have yet another electric motor powering a compressor. Then there is lines that would have to go to each individual motor.
It is more likely that they are attempting to handle heat dissipation via aluminum heatsinks. This might do well during more temperate and cooler months, but during hot summer months, electric motor failures would be a common place occurrence.

I like how both companies wish to release their trucks in 2019. :) It's never that easy. Though after Tesla's battery breakthrough it seems very likely that this will be a reality soon. You can bet on Tesla being late, but even a late Tesla product is still years ahead of the pack.

...i don’t think you know what you just said
My thoughts exactly ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Dakota Semler doesn't look like a truck guy but looks like someone who should be making my coffee at the local Starbucks
but can it self drive
Better than most people in my state 😂
Yes we dont...need self driving trucks...unemployment is increasing because of Tech not by Economy struggling . Yes we need self driving cars but trucks i dont see the reason...
Lol copy the overall style and form of the logo from Tesla... Get your own stuff!
I am an independent owner operator of a semi truck. My biggest expense is fuel to power the truck and I can drive about 600 or so miles a day. I get about 5-6 miles per gallon. I burn about 100 gallons of diesel a day. At $3.00 a gallon is about 300 dollars x 5 days is 1,500 dollars. I could EASILY pay for a 180,000 dollar truck that burns no diesel. Just need a little more range and a way to recharge at the end of the day. I woul buy one of these in a snap second it was feasible.
It'll just charge the Tesla to 400%😂
I understood that reference...
The front on Tesla semi i like it better and I also like Tesla’s rear light sorry 😐
This is a pat on the back from tesla rather than a middle finger from thor to tesla. You shitting me? They are on the same team!
3D printing could wave to a future where people can design and print of parts to build their own unique e-cars. Just like custom made pc's.
Prefer the huge EV dips.. XOS... SOLO... ELMS... FFIE.
Cool and all but not sure how they can say 2019 delivery when they are just getting started plus no mention of price, range, or max load capacity. Not to mention Tesla is guaranteeing electricity costs. Best of luck to them though more competition is always great
Thor trucks: Bootleg Tesla Semi-truck
The consumer wins when the manufacturer is met with competition.
But what are the specs and fast does it accelerate?
Aria why do you think acceleration is an important factor for an electric prime mover?
derty QWERTY Whether a prime mover takes 10 or 100 seconds to accelerate to 100 km/h, it's going to have negligible difference on delivery times. Sudden changes in speed (accel or decel) can cause loads to shift which will more than offset gains through increased acceleration
Speed makes a difference for driveability, especially around town where most of the limited range trucks will operate. The ability of a fully laden truck to keep up with traffic is not worth nothing...
Aria they already said it will cost 150,000 for a range of 300,000
Not even close to what Tesla's got... but, I believe in them
Cool, but man that hing looks Ugly!
JacsRambles yeah heavy ugly
300 miles is enough for city deliveries, petroleum deliveries, lots of stuff. Best name ever for trucks. Thor. Yeah. I like that.
the truck is to low to the ground for winter use ?/
So it's the designe of the Tesla truck but with a grill and different branding... yah ok
this is a great step. we all hope this technology gets out and is workable.
The center media system runs windows....
That didn't age well. Where is it? 2021.
Also waiting for Tesla.
It pulls hard for the first 3 years, until the batteries fail and need replacing. The payload will be crap too, since current batteries have a very poor power density. A bad idea for the trucking business. It might be however very handy in a distribution centre, where a prime mover is required to constantly shift trailer around!
An entire truck roof to put solar panels on...
why not charge as you go and charge at a station?
Pamela Homeyer they don't produce enough energy to justify the cost of installing and carrying them.
A semi often hauls trailers belonging to someone else.
Extra weight means you're allowed to carry less
I always wondered, on all electric cars and trucks, why not have a small 2 cylinder diesel generator to help keep the charge up? Maybe alternator/generator tech needs a boost too. Sure it may be burning some fuel, but not like running a V8, especially with bio diesel and new generator technology.
Love the idea and more companies in the EV market for trucks but....
againts TESLA...LOL
Those battery packs located where ICE gas tanks are suggests simply swapping battery packs at strategic refueling locations. With some decent pit stop training (or some robotics), that could be done a lot faster than refilling a diesel. And the battery pack could be recharged while the truck continues on past the horizon.
As with amp-hour ratings on battery powered drills, the weight of the tool in the carpenter's hand might be more significant than how long the battery can go between charges.
Why don't they create containers with built in solar panels ?
The real advantage of electric trucks is really the amount of torque they can put out. You can pull much heavier loads with a electric compared to that of even diesel trucks.
(You also see more diesel trucks compared to petrol trucks for this exact same reason)
That being said electric cars and trucks are much heavier by default as well so it really comes down to what the maximum weight of a loaded truck can be. No use in having 5 times the tongue if you can't legally pull 5 times the amount of weight.
Giant middle finger to Elon?... Buildt A worse truck and more costy, less range etc.. Yeah right... 🤦♂️
Plus the Self driving and fleet behavior is something only Tesla can do. And with their scale and resources, Tesla can implement these hugely valuable features for tens of thousands. Other companies won't have a sliver of a chance.
Jokes on Bloomberg, this was all part of elon's plan
this is how you get a few more years out of a truck, converting the trucks to electric like this would pay for the conversion in itself within a year ( depending on the company ) honestly it is a pretty smart business move, though also a pretty big gamble to invest into ATM.
Ya know what Tesla has that they don’t ?
Money 😂
Tesla doesn't care if this company succeeds, they even posted the patents publically so other companys can use their designs.
Yes but what you don't understand is that elon expected this, he built the entire damn charging infrastructure so you can buy this truck but you're going to charge and make elon money at his charge ports. He has the game in a headlock, because even if he allows this truck to charge at his ports do you really think he's not going to give his tesla's some edge. (Tesla trucks interior looks better imo)
Not only that, he also made a gigafactory for batteries, when those startups want to outsource their batteries.
Elon actually ants the competition because he knows this is only going to help move things along in the right direction. That is why he released the patents. H isn't thinking about this is a "how do I control this" or "what's in it for me" type of way. It's much bigger than just being better than your competitors.
Here is the one thing though, how much weight can the truck actually pull, and how much more energy does it use when pulling heavy items??
plot twist
elon musk is behind the project
he just wants to change the world but not for the money and competition
Nothing wrong with healthy competition!
Yep, The companies making diesel trucks are the competition and they will loose unless they go electric. Even if there were 10 companies making electric semis, they could not meet the demand for electric trucks so diesel will be the only ones loosing out for quite many years.
@@0ooTheMAXXoo0..... I think you're forgetting what our "dollar" is based on, they call it the "Petro-dollar" for a reason.... and if you (and Many others) think for one minute that "Big Oil" is really going to allow EV's to take over petroleum powered vehicles any time soon.... you are grossly mistaken, and by the way.... that is Precisely the reason that the turbine powered cars and semis never made it to production by the 1970s, because "Big Oil" stood to lose Billions in engine lube oil dollars as well as fuel sales... especially in the commercial vehicle (heavy duty trucks) sector, if the turbines had been allowed to make it into production, of which they were on the verge of being.
The difference between Thor and Tesla. Tesla makes the own truck from scratch! Thor just puts a body kit on an international prostar and installs there own powertrain.
Nothing wrong with that...cuts down on development time
Nice work but a standard truck converted to electric is going to have difficulty competing with a Tesla semi whose chassis is specifically designed for an electric drivetrain.
jim seko i dont see how the tesla truck chassis is going to be much different from any other class 8 truck. Suspension and brakes are likely standard issue stuff, dimensions have to be similar, it has to be compatible with existing trailers.....IMO Elon has enough on his plate making the electric powertrain viable, i dont think he is gonna mess with proven chassis design. Maybe I am wrong but why mess with what works?
If anything else this was an original truck and the Drivetrain was designed to handle the demand in real world conditions that AREN'T SATISFIED with computers!
The roof of the trailer should be a giant solar pannel
Wow a bad and more expensive knockoff version of the Tesla Semi. Innovative
oh nice, a Nikola pt 2
