Curious, what do you think of Zachary Garren's band Strawberry Girls? I'd love to see what you make of their work considering his genius brought some awesome stuff to Dance Gavin Dance.
I've got their American Graffiti album and the guitar work on it is great, obviously with it being Zach! But I do find that their songs lend themselves to needing vocals, the sign of a good instrumental band (for me) is to not notice there are no vocals and still feel as though it's full and everything that needs to be there is there. But there's just something lacking for me to really love it. Don't get me wrong, I do like it a lot, but it's just not quite fulfilled its potential to be truly excellent. I imagine it comes across great in a live setting though. There's plenty of energy there.
