The thing about color is that we can measure it. We can identify what it is by measuring the wavelength of light. But, what we can’t do is measure how our brain interprets that signal. So even though we’re seeing the same wavelength of light, our brains could actually be interpreting the colors differently, but we can’t tell. Similar to other senses, like taste. Some people love meatloaf, while other people are wrong.
@@Chavezzslovakia true. Though, I do think it’d be really cool if we all saw different hues while looking at the same things. I don’t know why I really like that idea.
Had similar conversation about colors back in high school with a friend then vsause made a video about it making me recall that conversation and now chavezz reminded me of that again
"I assume you live by yourself if you have no cups". You're not wrong. I needed more salt in the wound anyways. The burn means it's working. (Just for humor. Not lying tho, I unfortunately live alone in a 2 bedroom house.)
Hearing the reason for colors light spectrum thing again made me wonder something. Is it possible for different stars to output a stronger/faster wavelength of light than our sun? So what’s green on our planet might be red ,blue, or anything in between on another? I’m 92% that’s not how it works at all and light should not be able to move faster than the speed of light nor be concentrated on its own but I also know the universe is far too vast to rule it out as an impossibility, improbable but not impossible
Sure, the wavelengths of light are always the same. "Red" will always have the same wavelength, no matter who sees it. But in order to *see* a color, our brain has to translate the wavelengths into something we can comprehend and our brains aren't exactly the most consistent things in the world. Hell, some people have a rare condition called "Synesthesia" that crosses their senses so they can see sounds and hear colors. The thing is, we will never know if one person perceives "Red" the same as another person. They could perceive what someone else's brain would perceive as "Blue", but they've known all their life that *that* color is called "Red" and will never question it. It's one of those things that is physically and scientifically impossible to prove one way or another. Even if we could jump into someone else's mind and see their perception of colors, we'd still be seeing it through the filter of our own perception. Best answer to this problem? Don't think about it too much. I was one of those kids in art class that thought way too hard about this and couldn't resist throwing my 20 cents (adjusted for inflation) out there.
yeah languege heavily effects our perception of color uf you dont have a word for a certain color its difficult to tell it apart there are only a few that are advantagous to name so they come first japan didnt have a word to distinguish green and blue green was seen as a shade of blue so when international standards came around there traffic lights ended up with blue lights instead i think they do have a word now what we consider colors can be pretty subjective my favorite is orange and brown there the exact same wavelength brown is just dark orange
6:00 Funny enough, I had a 40°C fever when I was 12 and my eyesight got weird. White looked yellow and yellow looked orange, orange looked red. My eyes and head hurt like hell for weeks.

When folk really look in to it, they low key trip when they realize that some colored didn’t always exist or that entire millennias of people had to concept of some colors… ie: the Greek had no concept of the color blue
I'm right there with you chavezzs don't stress out your siblings.
Well I mean... I'm all for stressing my siblings tf out. But not with their phobias.

You can never know for sure. But we do have a really good idea about what the average person sees.

On the color spectrum, your eyes and brain determines what is visible. Any disabilities or degradation of either organ, can shift or remove color(s).
