What a fantastic lantern, truly beautiful. I quite understand the thrill of making, but unfortunately I must have gone to the same business school as well!
I have for some time been wanting to make things from sheet metal and this month have invested in tools, equipment and metal (and metalworking books) to enable me to start in the new year. My preferred metals are titanium, copper and brass, and I expect to use solid copper rivets. People like this are true Craftsman, whereas I'll be some guy tinkering and making lovely things for the sheer pleasure of it and as gifts to friends and items to donate to charity shops for them to sell to boost their income.
