Sang this with the semi professional choir Dolce Canto in Missoula, MT. We started it with a solo, and added "choralograpy" including stomps for percussion. Including Djembe and other percussion as well. It took us months to figure out all the pieces, but when it finally came together it was great. When we finished our performance the crowd was total silence for about 3 seconds. Then jumped to their feet in applause. No better feeling as a performer.
Cantan hermoso... Quiero destacar que un joven que está en primera fila, se puede apreciar que canta con el corazón, que su voz está conectada al cielo. Sin conocerle especialmente a él lo felicito y le envío un abrazo desde Brasil.
Absolutely stunning!! Since I first heard Wana Baraka some years ago through that flash mob video performed in a public library I regularly search for other versions. There are many out there but none which could keep up with that flash mob version. This version certainly does! Perfect harmonies (to my ears) and performed exactly like I know it. The flash mob video hadn't that great audio since it wasn't recorded professionally but it was just great to listen to. ruclips.net/video/YCm6Rxy1H78/видео.html Since I was hooked with that song I also looked up a lot swahili as i think it's a really nice language. It's the perfect language for songs like this. Again, really, this was an amazing performance.
This is actually Cultural Appreciation. We love our brothers and sisters in Christ and the music they wrote to praise our God. We are all citizens of the same homeland - our Father's home in heaven!
@@SlavicChorale Such beautiful response! 😍... and sorry, my comment was just meant as sarcasm after an argument I had had defending cultural appreciation.
@@underscoring Then we are on the same page! :-) Choirs perform so much music from so many cultures, that if we were not allowed to do that, pretty much all choral music would need to be banned!
This choir has talent at an amazing level.
