THANK YOU for this tutorial - I’m trying to make a set of spoon rings for a friend and I’ve been struggling immensely with how to do it without the expensive ring clamps professionals have.
😮You are genius. Use sockets brilliant so brilliant. When my neighbor moved out he gave me a whole bunch of them. He asked me if I was going to give them to my brother-in-law. I said no I'm gonna keep them.He then laughed and said what's a woman gonna do with a bunch of sockets. I said I don't know, something someday. Todays that day. I was using them as pencil holders but today they have a real purpose. I have every single ring size. So in your face doubter. 😂 Worked like a mother, you know what, charm. 2 mins 😝that is all, 2 minutes. I'm thrilled thank you. Ill subscribe. I also have old bracelets, oh oh! Theyd make great rings. Christmas is covered. 😊😊 Feeling pure joy right now.
Awesomeness!!!! I am just starting off, and I had been planning to use wooden dowels. ... oh, boy!!! I have at least 100 different sockets at my disposal. Thank you for the tip!
My dad would love you.....he would show me excatly how u would do with out having to spend lots of money we just don't have and u have in the garage!!! Thanks for the info ...
Thanks, I actually just want to make keychain purse hooks for people I work for Christmas this year. From your video I can now figure out how to do this.
This is such a brilliant less costly way of making the spoon rings 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 i just bought a specific press for rings that makes it quit simple with nylon grips. But it was like almost 250
Sir in my neck of the woods you would be considered a good man! I already have rubber tubing over my vise grips, now I just gotta drive down to ask my dad for some of his sockets. Fortunately he's like you & completely used to me asking for tools to complete the odd project or two😉
Thanks for the video. How to determine what size socket for a particular ring size, and how to determine the length of the spoon handle for that ring size?
These would be nice to wrap around a hiking or walking stick. Or as a protector on an ax handle just below the ax head. just be sure to have it bite tight around the wood snug
I noticed you didn't have too many videos. If you would be interested I would love it if you did a video on how to cut steel. Example cutting a heart charm for a bracelet. I struggle with steel. I'm not sure which saw to use. I assume i'm supposed to use a hacksaw. Then I don't know how many teeth the saw blade should have have or how to finish it the best way. I just go in blind and hope for the best. What are your opinions on using a Dremel to cut steel?
Bailey Graham any craft store or amazon for the ring sizers. Then they are called sockets. You get those at a home improvement store like Home Depot, Lowes, even Walmart. :)
Sir, you are brilliant! I don't have to buy expensive tools. I've got that stuff in my garage. 👍
All the other videos have tons of verbal ham and use of unexplainable tools you’ll need weeks to wait for in the Mail - this dude is my man
Love how you made your tools out of other tools. True Craftsman 👍
Great tutorial and so simple. Thank you for sharing.
Awesome! Thanks for showing how to bend the ring without the bender tool!
Nice clear explanations and techniques. Good job!
I'm 58 years old and have wanted one since i was a little girl. Thank you for sharing.

What is the specific press you got?
Nice and simple. Thank you for sharing.
When there’s a will there’s a way.
Good job!

Thanks so much for this!! I’m interested in making my own rings, but not interested in buying any expensive equipment
Thank you for video, love to learn from old school people ❤️
Nice instruction sir ! Thank you !
Thanks greg - Trying to help my daughter - SIMPLE!! :-)
exactly what I was thinking a hammer and a socket and a good pair of vise grips! The rubber fuel hose is a must tho
Wow thank you! Gonna try this out next weekend!

Very nice technique - thank you!

Thanks for the video.
How to determine what size socket for a particular ring size, and how to determine the length of the spoon handle for that ring size?
Just Beautifulll😍thanks
Gr8 vid mate
Excellent...thank you!
Awesome!!!💙
Great tip on how to do something without spending hundreds of dollars on tools.

What are your opinions on using a Dremel to cut steel?
I think even I can do this, thank you.
Anna Patty me too! 👏🏽
Awesome video!💯🔥👍🏻
What is the best metal to use?
Yahoo love those rings
That's nice
I love that it's doable
Do you pre-heat the spoon
Do you have to use "sterling silver" spoons / silverware? What do you use?
The essence of "macgyverd"...where there's a will there is a way!!!
What size socket would be right for a size 6 ring?
👏👏👏👏
what if i don’t have a vice(sp?) can i just do this on a table?
Vise. Not on MY table.
awesome
Good job nice ring
Do you have a list of what size socket makes what ring size
Hey what is used to cut the spoon part off the handle part? And how do you file it down? Thanks! 🙏🏻
Also where do you get the plastic tubing for the pliers?
Great question! I was wondering how to remove spoon end also.
You can use bolt cutters to cut the bowl off the handle. I think he is using a ratchet fitting.
I have a rubber mallet ,Will that work?
Please make more videos
If you wanted to set, say, a semi-precious stone in a piece similar to this, how would you do it?
Finally a tutorial not filled with unnecessary blabber
Nice
This was great! Where do you get the ring sizers?! And the metal tube to shape the spoon around?
Bailey Graham any craft store or amazon for the ring sizers. Then they are called sockets. You get those at a home improvement store like Home Depot, Lowes, even Walmart. :)
Very cool!
Thanks! I believe I can do this!!
Great video! I probably have all these tools in my garage. Except for the ring sizer and mandrill but those are super cheap.
what kind of the hammer?? two sides are different?
One side nylon, other side copper
One side is nylon and one side is hard rubber.
To think I almost threw out a never used socket set that I kept in the car for emergencies
Very clever
Where you find a hammer like that too?
Genius!
Anyone know how he made the jig in the bracelet video? What size pipe? Posted to that video but no reply!
Brilliant. Thank you.
Ahhh, thank you, brother. I been screwing it up the hard way
good job
Thx for sharing!
I'm wondering how I can weld some jigs with my everlast welder to make this process faster.
Thank you, can you tell me about how much it is to buy the hammer?
4dollars at harbor frieght
So if I’m a wuss should I buy a torch that can warm up the metal so it would be easier to bend?
Thank you 😊
Now THAT'S D.I.Y.!!!!!!!
thank you greg
regarding that SOFT HEAD HAMMER, i think you will find one head is nylon while the other is copper and not rubber.
Uhh, Nope still rubber.
greg tanner What do i use to cut the bowl of the spoon?
@@lasparklecovington1238 I use bolt cutters or shears.
There is a proper ring bender vice for $100 that you can make 3x to that one you just made
Right and that's 100 bucks I can use somewhere else. We also don't mass produce we do custom orders so never had a need to do any faster.
@@gregtanner584 SO RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thank u (:
This is a very hard way to do it.
not hard at all just a little more effort then a ring bending machine
