Given the price of airfares between Canberra and anywhere in NT, Jacinta's travel expenses are surprisingly small. e.g. An economy ticket costs over $2500 return from Canberra to Darwin. About the same as Sydney to London return. Business class to which she is entitled must be over $4000. But we know this was a grubby political hit job by the left leaning Nine media group (SMH/Age). What we don't know is what exclusive interviews or briefings were offered by Albo in return for the favour. Keep an eye out.

Why the Voice to Parliament is something which should be scrutinized thoroughly is its co-author, Marcia Langton - she was a member of the Communist League in the 70s. How do we know this isn't an attempt at moving Australia further to the left?

The English & white Australians (still) are under constant scrutiny for the past, we aren't allowed to talk about the positives. At least this has opened peoples eyes & the scrutiny is now on the 'indigenous industrial complex' the UNACCOUNTABILITY of these groups being funded while still not getting positive outback community results. That's fair, that's equal treatment & i hope the Senate pushes forward so the truth telling can actually start & positive cultural changes can be made especially for aboriginal women... It's not the white man holding them down, it's time to stop that lie.

Every State in Australia now has VAD. The Northern Territory was the first to introduce it, Canberra squashed it. Now, NT is the only "state" (with the largest percentage of indigenous population) not to have it. Such is the power of Canberra. No mention made of giving NT "state" status.

The problem is that in most indigenous communities communal ownership is a cultural way of life. Everything belongs to everyone. That means if I plant fruit trees then the fruit belongs to all and I may not get any. I know an indigenous person that cut down a fantastic avocado tree because the community was taking the fruit before it was ripe an breaking branches. It made me so sad. My one aboriginal friend really excelled at gold prospecting and worked his butt off. He gave up because lazy family who did no work demanded food for their children because their sit down money had gone on grog and drugs. This cultural practice was necessary before European civilisation and was necessary for survival and many white people can take a leaf out of their book. How many whites have millions but just walk past their neighbours in genuine need. Their needs to be a balance. And this way of doing things in culture should be taught to adults in communities. It is no use teaching the children because they follow the parents

Jacinta is such a powerhouse - it makes me very angry that Indigenous Peoples are kept in penury even while given the trappings of self-determination. If they can't even set up their own businesses on their Traditional Lands, if they can't drag themselves up by their boot straps because of ridiculous red tape and nanny state edicts, little wonder they are mad at Government. In my opinion I think small businesses, growers & farmers need more support & encouragement across the board in Australia - we need to stop kowtowing to mega corporations & start investing in the Little People who are the heart & soul of this Nation. Jacinta is right that women's lib needs to come to Traditional Lands - only 100 years ago, a British woman had few rights, she was her husband's chattel & if he beat her she probably deserved it - that was the thinking - thinking can change which can facilitate so much good - for all; I wish the Senator strength to spread her message and support Indigenous women's autonomy.
