Did you not like the Nightcore sound? It feels fitting here. I haven't seen the series yet so I am speaking purely based music and style from my theatre and entertainment background. Maybe it just felt too different for you. Which is fine.

Making this song more energetic and upbeat just makes it even more sad honestly. It takes the duality of the original song and ups the "looking back at the good times" vibe. The candle is burning out faster and brighter than before.

Interesting... I do like it and enjoy it a lot. My only thing is that I personally prefer your original piece, but I also rarely listen to nightcore. It's great, don't get me wrong! But I personally prefer your usual vocals and your growing, outreaching production abilities on a track compared to a full, nightcore version of the same track. But, again, I'm not that into nightcore and this is just my personal taste. I also find it brilliant to make nightcore snippets for the outros of your vids. If you're experimenting, and enough people are asking for it, you could also try making a second nightcore channel and just post all the nightcore versions there. That's since they all slap but might not hit with a majority of the audience you're now gaining every day coming for your metal/rock-esque OG anime-style songs. Just a thought...
