Really makes you wonder if whitebeard was that strong as a sick and dying old man and even in his PRIME STILL wasn't as strong a Roger. What kind of monster was this guy?
Makes you wonder doesn't it? Monkey D. Garp was supposed to have fought Roger nearly to the death on multiple occasions in his prime and even now he is a legend that could most likely beat anyone else in the entire navy to death in a one on one brawl. Roger and his crew were able to defeat Shiki the Golden Lion and his entire fleet. That was another legend who managed to fight Sengoku and Garp together for days before finally being taken down. Afterwards the guy managed to cut off his own legs and escape from an underwater death trap as a devil fruit user. Gol D. Roger surpassed them all but in the end he was simply going to die from illness so he decided to turn himself in. His existence surpassed legendary. He became a symbol of what being a pirate is and with a few words managed to usher in a new era.
This is like the ultimate movie trailer for a One Piece prologue. Awesome job!

Don't worry about it man. I got chills as well. Out of all the mysteries in One Piece what fascinates me the most is the true history. The fact that there are people in the world that actually know it but don't tell anyone makes it even MORE intriguing and brings up more questions. Why don't they tell anyone? What are they hiding? Is it dangerous to know or simply not worth anything? In fact this subject interested me so much that I created a number of original characters for One Piece who have backstories connected to my own theory about it. It would take too long to explain it here but everyone familiar with One Piece I've shown them to were very impressed. Someone even told me that I should send the idea to Oda to possibly get them written into the story. If you want to know more about the Seven Seraphs of the Sea, then just ask and I'll post their profiles under this reply.

ok well this brought alot to my mind I was just looking up amvs and found this while I wasn't this far in im only at the something bark arc I forget where they first meet Brooke because I only watch dubs and I've just gotten to the dubs but someone told me they stopped watching when they came to the conclusion that luffy wasnt going to end up as the next king of the pirates or at least it wouldnt in the story or something like that I forget exactly what he said and this kind of makes me think he might of been onto something I don't really know but I already knew gold d Rogers motivation behind his last words before he was executed because obviously the guys who were suppose to execute him paniced as he was saying them so that was one hint and another hint was what he wrote on the golden bell on the skypiea arc so what I'm basically getting from this video and what I've seen so far is that Roger found out what happened during that lost century or Whatever its called and that's part of the reason he got executed to set a example but he turned that around on the world government when he said his treasure was all left in one place thus starting the pirate era which I believe he said that to lure people to the grand line in hopes that what happened during the void century or whatever it's called would be brought to light..well basically what I'm trying to say is...Rogers was one cool guy xD
