As a Canadian it is very fun to watch others pack for our crazy weather. Last year we had 35cm of snow, today +12C.

Welcome back to Calgary! If you’re here for a month, the weather can absolutely be brutal by then. We also have glorious chinooks that can make the temperature go up by 20 degrees in a single day. If Robbie loves dinosaurs (as evidenced by his lovely boots), you need, Need, NEED to go to the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller, Alberta, which is about an hour and a half northwest of Calgary. It's a blow-your-mind great museum, packed with huge dinosaur displays, in the middle of the "badlands" where so many wonderful fossils have been discovered.

Hon, you pack like me. I always have in the back of my head the possibility of a waiter spilling a plate of spaghetti bolognaise. I need to have back up. Also you can never have enough shoes. That's why I have to fly business or first class that allows me 2 free bags. Most of the time it works out almost as cheap as coach plus the overweight or the luggage fees. 😉

OMG! We have the same problem of packing too much for trips. Yet, you would stay there for weeks and Calgary is much colder than UK and look so good in all these lovely knitwears, it is not unreasonable to take more clothes for this special trip. Can't wait to see your upcoming casual fashion show!

Tom you are picking to travel to Calgary in Canada with Lance and Son Robbie and like that taking Knitting Wool and Clothes in your cases. I really like the grey snow boots in the winter weather.
Compression bags are great. They shrink down bulky winter clothing to nothing. You can get ones that require a vacuum or ones that you just squeeze the air out. Have fun in Canada 🍁
Please forgive me as I love my city of Calgary: I'm still beyond surprised that Tom, Lance and Family have given Calgary a chance. It brings tremendous joy to my heart! ❤🥲 Calgary does have a ton of international traveller's. However, the World Population seems to be drawn more to Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver. The fact that you have chosen Calgary.....🤗🥲🇨🇦🏴

Very good on getting ready for your trip to Canada, I had a time of going for a trip in the hard way too.
I brought art stuff too, they were Crayons and Colored Pencils with Coloring Books.
I hate packing, but when traveling, it's essential to try and pack the right things. I like the sweater you were wearing looked comfortable.

It is chilly but right now I believe we are having a chinook (temporary warm spell, like the scirocco in Venice or Santa Anna winds in California), as a resident I would recommend a family trip to buy good warm coats, gloves/mittens, toques (woollen head coverings), boots and perhaps a full snow suit for Robbie if you think he will want to play in the snow or go sledding once it snows.

We enjoy your videos especially the cooking ones. Suggestion?? Free range eggs??? they do make a difference not just eating them but if you make pasta, etc., and they are more organic than organic (for health).

Literally no one thinks of Canada as being colonial in the U.K. / My mum is Canadian and she’s not heard that living in the U.K. for 20+ yrs but also have you seen the horrible mess of the U.K. government/ the U.K. atm? / brexit / Boris Johnson people are more likely to talk about Canada as being way better than the U.K.

Tom, When you have to take a lot of clothes on a trip, send most of them via UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc. That way you only need to take essentials as carry on. Just ship the large part to wherever you're going to stay.
Tom, you really need to have someone that is in the military in the United States to teach you how to Military Pack for sure.

You need packing cubes!! Lets you really compact your stuff so it's easy to get it all in the case!
