    This is how you teach your kids to be good humans. They know that their family saved Rosies life. Totally agree! Their parents should be so proud. Those girls didn't make this adoption about them once, either. In every clip they were focused on Rosie's needs over their own - they wanted her so that they could save her life, or they wouldn't pick one 'favourite' thing about her, instead loving her as a whole for who she is. I didn't hear "she does this for me" or "I want" once. Kids like that - full of sweetness, kindness, selflessness and empathy - give me hope for the future.

Loving and caring for a pet has a major impact on childhood/adolescent development and. Teaching the concept of responsibility can be difficult but pet ownership demonstrates the concept perfectly. A child raised with pets they help care for are better able to empathize, express their emotions in a healthy way and learn the importance of being responsible for someone other than themselves. I’m yet to meet an adult who regrets having had any of their childhood pets.

      It's really hard, but especially in cities, there just aren't the resources available to the shelters and rescues. Almost all shelters operate partially or entirely on donations and volunteer work, and without enough community support, shelters suffer. Kitten Lady has a good video on her channel about "kill shelters" vs. "no-kill shelters" that really gets into why so many shelters end up having to put animals down

    • @JustKelso1993
      @JustKelso1993 3 года назад +18

      You have to realize how many animals are taken to shelters on a daily basis, there literally aren't enough space and resources. Most shelters do have a time limit to give the animals as much time as they can to get adopted but sadly they cannot keep them forever, especially if they have too many coming in as opposed to getting adopted out. I highly suggest to anybody going to adopt a shelter pet to ask which ones are closer to the euthanization date, it gives the most chance to save as many as possible.

    • @kristina7296
      @kristina7296 3 года назад +6

      It's about compassion and love. I live in a big city and our shelter is big as well. It's forbidden to euthanize animals without a medical reason. People donate enough and the city council supports the shelter. Many people adopt animals nowadays more than ever. I just realised how lucky I'm here. I adopted too btw. Let's hope, that your country will change its politics and we all will learn that every living being is holy.

      Be a samurai and cry! Tears are strong, they give you power, strength and balance of mind, body and soul. Tears weep out (heavy) toxicants that build up in your body. Holding your tears is essentially poisoning yourself (physically and mentally) wich makes you weaker. Are men weak? Are men sheep? Ban unhealthy social constructs from your life. Trust me, you feel so much better/free than before.
      PS, I love how you wrote honest about this. This was a tearjerker for me too. This is the good kind of trauma you can give your kids. These kids will definitely know what a kill shelter is and does for the rest of their lives, wich is good as they will be part of the solution not the problem when they grow up.
