For the 3 days after his surgery, we know there was a high chance of him not surviving. In my one hour commute to work for those 3 days, I'd listen to this song... This to me was a reminder that people in our lives really don't stay with us forever, some die way too soon, and we're left behind. This song is very obviously about a relationship, but to me, it reminds me of my late uncle who passed away from cancer 2 years ago.
For the 3 days after his surgery, we know there was a high chance of him not surviving. In my one hour commute to work for those 3 days, I'd listen to this song... "darling, nobody said this would last forever. I never said that we would die together". This to me was a reminder that people in our lives really don't stay with us forever, some die way too soon, and we're left behind.
When I listen to this song, I'm taken back to those 3 days - hoping he would make it.
