Not going to lie, the way you overlayed your sponsorship video over your work is Much more effective than how a lot of creators just tag on a full minute to the beginning or end of their videos.
I was thinking the exact same thing. It's really effective at keeping the video interesting even during a sponsor message most of us have heard dozens of times.
Your rings are so beautiful!! I’m recovering from my fourth spinal fusion and am starting to make rings so I can keep my mind busy. Wish I had an expanding ring mandrel. But financially not able to order been off work for 2 years. But your videos have given me so much!! Love watching them I think I’ve watched every one of them and looking forward to seeing more!!! Your awesome!!!
If you want to do little to no work sanding the inside later it helps if you push the tool bit away from the part before you pull it out so it doesnt scratch the sides.
One amazing ring after the next. It's like there's a never-ending flow of visions and designs coming from you and your team. I wish I had a bunch of money to buy all the PAD rings I wanted. Luv the ring and I can't wait to see what's next
Hey Patrick 👋, wow, that ring is outstanding. I really like the way the lines come out. Very crazy pattern on it. The different metals in it makes the ring pop out. Very nice ring.😎
Always good to watch someone doing something they are interested in. I think I watch for the process and any methods I could use for individual links. I wanna make chains and individual links with good quality makes a difference in quality. Not really the same but knowledge never hurts.
Great ring as always!! I dont know much about ringmaking, however etching I do know a thing or 2 about, if you wanna get rid of the bubbles you could use a feather, also if you wanna play with patterns you could try covering up different parts before puting it in the acid, it could be a cool experiment :D
Glass isn't hard to work with, you just need the correct tools. Obsidian shouldn't be any different from other fused-silica glasswork. And they do make tools for lathes, and I'm sure there's a specialty bandsaw blade made for glasswork. A glass ring, depending on the glass used, would be brilliant. Obsidian would also be good, though I wonder how translucent it would get being the thickness of a ring, might lose some of it's defining characteristics if too much light passes through it.
You should really look into how to properly use a lathe. Work holding and concentricity and stuff like that. I don't know much about making rings or anything and they seem to be nice products. But watching you work that lathe was rough for me. If I might make a suggestion one of my favorite channels is thisoldtony. He's an amateur machinist with unique insight and entertaining videos. all the best.
if you had etched it for longer which of the metals would have etched away more severely? Just trying to imagine how it would have turned out if you had.
I started to make mokume gane by my self with good results but its a insane amount of work and because of that my heart starts to bleed After seeing so mutch material just get grined away^^
Hi Patrick, thanx for posting this nice video but it would also be helpful if you can show at the end of the video how you put the label inside your ring. I have mentioned almost on every video but no response from you, I would appreciate if you can, thank you!
I really love these videos, love watching the process and the artistry. But is it a design choice or a necessity to make them that thick? Not sure if you just have really big fingers, or if the footage makes the rings look bigger than they really are, but they look somewhat uncomfortable? Definitely prefer narrower rings, myself.
Hey Patrick, great video, ad incredible ring! thank you for all the effort you put into producing these. I was wondering if you could (or if you already have) put a list together of what you would call "the bare essentials" for getting into ring-making (i.e. lathe, bits, polish, paper, buff wheel, etc.). im just wondering what i would need to begin making basic rings out of nuts or coins or resin as gifts. thanks so much!
In some of my older videos I have a big list with a lot of items you’d need to get started. I’m working on a new and improved version which will be out soon!
Here's a question for all you Acid"masters" out there :)... if you can't use baking soda to neutralize the acid, as in this video... could milk be used? i mean milk is considered a neutral liquid right? so that should work... or maybe not :)... i really don't know about this one...
I dont understand as a professional how you can stand to use a lathe with such low power that it stalls while starting the pilot hole. You could really benefit from a larger more powerful lathe, chuck up some round stock and pilot drill and switch to a mt2 1/2 inch bit, drill in a inch or two and part off 5 or so ring blanks and go individual from there. Speaking of production. Cnc lathe 75% of the work and then add the hand finish work
Have to warn you on base metal mokume.... You need to make a liner to go against the skin from a material that won't cause skin reactions. Even then, wearers need to realize that their skin from the adjacent fingers will come into contact and can cause problems. We usually make a liner from Silver (not Nickel Silver) for this in jewelry.
i'm shocked at how big a difference there is when you didn't do a baking soda bath, compared to the mokume ring you did before when you did. it looks amazing!
Amazing !! I´m jewelry designer and I love Mokume Gane technique
Not going to lie, the way you overlayed your sponsorship video over your work is Much more effective than how a lot of creators just tag on a full minute to the beginning or end of their videos.
I’m glad you liked how we did it!
Yes it was good it came as suprise
I was thinking the exact same thing. It's really effective at keeping the video interesting even during a sponsor message most of us have heard dozens of times.
And a fitting sponsor, I could listen to the sponsor while watching the video! No wasted time! Hah!
@@TheDyingFox And it stops us from just skipping the sponsor!
Audible should be thrilled with your integration. Sponsors- take note.
Stunning final product 😍. Can’t repeat enough how much I love your rings!
The way you did the sponsor message was fantastic. Great work on the ring!
I see myself saying this about all your rings, so amazing!!
Also I love the way you put the sponsor in there.

My precious... Man that looks amazing
Bravo Audible!

I always love the obsidian look.

Cool ring man.

Nice work.
I like this one even better than the one I have. I'll have to look up the pricing on your website Patrick.

Super cool
That metal would make an awesome infinity gauntlet ring, you could use glow powder in place of the stones
The water jet guys had some actual obsidian recently - maybe grab some and make an actual obsidian ring with obsidian facets?
Nathan Binns that would be awesome
obsidian is extreamly hard to work with when it comes to things like this. it is glass after all lol

Happy 420 ya'll!
I wonder how lignum vitae would look as a ring, maybe layered with actual iron or stainless steel?
Ring idea: take all the powders and shavings from all the different materials you use and turn them into a ring
if you had etched it for longer which of the metals would have etched away more severely? Just trying to imagine how it would have turned out if you had.
Awesome
Where did you get your lath also you should make a ring out of a hockey puck or golf ball
Beautiful!!!!
If I were to describe a custom ring to you could tell me about how much it would cost
What happens if you heat anodize it? Will it change colors or will it just stay that pretty gold color?
I started to make mokume gane by my self with good results but its a insane amount of work and because of that my heart starts to bleed After seeing so mutch material just get grined away^^
Hey I worked at Vivint for 7 years! What is your relationship with them?
Hi Patrick, thanx for posting this nice video but it would also be helpful if you can show at the end of the video how you put the label inside your ring. I have mentioned almost on every video but no response from you, I would appreciate if you can, thank you!

Just 2 words
Wow !
thats 3 words and a number
What could happen if you rinse the acid in simple water? Great job btw
A watch band with mokume links would be sick.

much thanks, will check those out, and greatly looking forward to that!
wow SICK intro !!!
I really like the music that you make in the videos. Could you list the song names in the description of your videos.
Would you be able to do some Zico-ti?
NICE 😯
You got mad skills young man. How did you get into the trade was your old man a jewelry maker?
you should make a ring from a rare motorcycle like a 1994 cbr 600 f
Which acid did you used?
Are you selling these? I’d really like one
So who won the mammoth tooth ring ?
What did this have to do with obsidian?
I wonder how much one like that would cost.
if i had more money, i would go out of my way to buy one.

Awww man
It's a shame i can't effort any exotic ring :(
how do you deal with the copper oxidizing? @patrickadairdesigns
Do you ever sell the rings that you make? When I get married, I'd KILL for something like one of these.
he has a site, maybe its in the description
patrickadairdesigns.com/
Looking good mate, been working out?
Yeah I guess I could wear it
If I send you a ring do you think you can create it with real materials
Cool! : )
Could you make an actual obsidian ring?
Somebody steal a ring from him.. I really love the rings and want one but cannot afford his price
Put it in the oven at around 400-500 degrees F. The colors will pop more.

Love the craft. But 300-600 for a ring you made that easily is harsh.
Wanted to ask about your glow rings, how deep is the well that you put the gems and powder in?
It is your FEED rate that produces the finish NOT the depth of cut..........
You are welcome, time served machineist xx
KILLER intro. Great ring! Cheers! Chris.

Michael T Shue Studios , what sort of skin reactions?
Nickel can cause eczema, and copper touching skin for an extended period of time can cause issues as well.
