I remember PewPewU using that tag often. That book was popular in that era so maybe that's where he got it from. My guess is that Maher was inspired by PPU since the book has fallen out of favor with newer generations of players.
@@wiredman11 Just curious but what do you mean by "fallen out of favour", do you mean newer players don't talk about it, or do they actively disagree with it?
@@Ahmad_code I think a majority of newer players don't know or care about the book. I also feel a lot of older players realized the philosophy in the book didn't apply to competitive melee as much as it was hyped up to back in the day.
I love how the commentators always try to paint marth as this weak character at any cost even if it's straight up lies, who even are these commentators lol why have there been so many marth biased people lately when marth has been winning nonstop and falcon hasn't won in years?? they said some straight up bologna though, like half court unreactable knee at 0:55?? wtf does that even mean lmfao, knee has a 14 frame startup so there's no way any knee is "unreactable" when all of marth's aerials are 7 frames or less, half that of knee. Literally every move marth has beats and outranges falcon except raptor boost, sadly enough, and that has a 15 frame startup which literally any toddler can react to
Because falcon blows Marth up at 60%, because falcon is heavy asf and uptilt doesn't kill till almost 200%, because knee is safe on sheild. Because soft knee upair is a crazy Marth killer, because falcon can CC-> grab Marth at 75%. Your recency biased is clouding your judgement. The best player plays Marth, of course he wins alot 😂. But none and this Marth are playing at a similar level, and you know what? Falcon litterally steam rolls him.
And I'd argue the opposite, everyone has been a Marth hater. 😂 starting with leffen saying Marth beats fox all the way to "Marth is actually the best character in the game." Marth is allowed to have bad mus.
While falcon has benefited a good bit from defensive techs like slideoffs as n0ne demonstrates in this set and does combo Marth to death with relative ease, I think it’s still pretty clear Marth shits on falcon for the reasons highlighted, namely disjoint diff and all falcon aerial approaches being reactable
@Spleen2ween I'd argue with matches like s2j vs zain and this one, Marth does infact still beat falcon. The only thing Marth has on falcon is he gets edgegaurded very hard. But just like the commentators, falcon blow Marth up off most interactions. Marth has to swing rapidly to keep falcon away which is exactly what falcon wants, cuz he will wavedash CC into grab ->down throw -> imagination. Or he gets locked down in sheild from falcon areials like knee, bair, and stomp cross ups. And marth being historically bad with out of sheild options (only having upb and grab) gets pushed back and eventually hit with a stray aerials into knee/upair. Edgegaurded and then killed, if he isn't killed outright. Moments like 4:17 are exactly what this mu looks like. Or really 5:55 is perfect, marth swings preemptively to try to keep falcon back, whiffs, falcon grabs and carrys marth off stage. Falcon forces marth to land onstage where falcon has to only reverse knee to clean up the stock. None doesnt even play this mu right. Hes not forcing mispace with CC, hes not even using optimal combos after throws.😂 11:06 marth is throwing out aeirals to try to create some space to get away from falcon, which falcon ccs a fair and immediately grab punishes him for it. I dont care how fast your aerials are, your either getting cc grab from swinging too much, or bullied and dashed around your sheild for swinging too little.
"Self" tag alludes to PewPewU the NorCal Marth, he used that tag a lot
SMH these guys don't know the legend Kevin toy
I think the “SELF” tag comes from The Inner Game of Tennis

THANK YOU COMMENTATORS. FALCON HAS SEVERAL TOOLS VS MARTH
