It is almost the same price to purchase the DVD off of the internet, as it is to purchase viewing off the service. But the service can't block your viewing of the DVD after a period of time.
Yes, exactly. That's another reason to own physical media of any type, especially DVDs and Blu-rays, now more than ever. The studios and their digital distribution services can at any time block or disable all the files you had previously purchased, and quite arbitrarily, too, I might add.
I don't know if you're into the Star Wars films, Larry. I can't say that I am, but they seem to represent your sentiment when older movies are needlessly updated (by Lucas no less) and a few fans painstakingly work to recreate the original versions. The "Despecialized Editions" may be worth a look in your spare time.
To tell you the truth, my friend, I'm not a big fan of Star Wars in general myself. I will say this much, however; I did enjoy the original three films for what they were; Engaging popcorn flicks only. Bearing that in mind, however, I didn't bother to buy them neither on DVD, nor Blu-Ray. I will track down and check out the "despecialized" editions sometime down the road. Thank you very much for the suggestion. 😀
hammer films!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!
Yes, indeed, I love Hammer Films, as well.
I just adore watching Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing in Dracula. What a fantastic film.
