I was fortunate enough to grab two of the first run regrinds and I was so excited to play with the jarn. However after 3 rounds with it (and the cryztal zone flx) I don’t see the reason to bag both. The zone overall felt more comfortable in the hand and easier to throw with accuracy. The zone is very consistent and for approaches it’s absolutely money. The jarn felt more like a scramble disc and more of a utility disc. Something I wouldn’t throw except for on very VERY specific shots. The zone to me felt much more like an all around-er disc that can be used for SO many different shots.
All in all, the jarn was okay. I’d say overrated.
I’m selling both first run regrinds and keeping the zone in the bag.

Absolutely great video and agree. For me, someone that haven't developed proper forehand for over 10 years of throwing, Järn is the best disc to flick for me. It corrects my mistakes on form.
One correction though: They were released as first run (same stamp as stock stamp but mint green) also. These are way less than regrinded though and very sought after and hard to find. I was lucky enough to have one for my collection.

Great point, First Runs were not released to retailers in the United States but I imagine those few non-regrinds are very sought after.

I'm an A2 guy now days but I like this disc as a compliment to the A2. It's less dumpy to me and goes further

To me Järn feels a bit faster than Zone, Harp or most approach discs. For me it flies a bit farther and is between approach disc and midrange. By farther I mean 5-6 ft farther so not a huge difference. Järn has a deeper rim than e.g. Zone, but Järn has a lower disc height. I think that makes the Järn feel thinner and better for me. I am not sure if I will bag it though, because I usually use overstable midrange instead of overstable putter or approach disc. That is why I have not regularly bagged Zone, Harp or a Pig.
Since it is a bit faster than most approach discs, I can see it replacing both overstable approach disc and overstable midrange. For the same reason some people may feel that it is too fast for approach disc. For me it flies between Mutant and Zone. Good thing is that there is plenty of options. No one needs to compromise the feel, if you are not a manufacturer's team player. With all the choices available almost everyone can find an overstable approach/mid that fits her/his hand.
Pronunciation doesn't matter, but since I am writing, why not. Järn is not pronounced the same as word yarn.
Ä (a without scandinavian keyboard) is pronounced like 'a' in words sack or mac and just as short so not a stretched letter. J is like Y so good work in that. Swedish/Finnish R is difficult to say for people who are not used to that R. For the same reason many/most Finnish people have so called "rally English" where R is pronounced very sharp.

Short answer: Depends on who is throwing it.

Too shallow for me, I'll stick with my Zones.

Ä is not pronounced A. The easiest way to explain it, and to cheat it, is to pronounce it as an E.
In fact, A is probably the vowel furthest away from the right pronounciation.
Apart from that, i love the Järn :)

Humans are tribal. They want to pick a team. The kastaplast fanbois want to bag all kastaplast even if it limits and hurts their game. There is no reason to throw only 1 brand unless that brand is paying you to do so, yet look how many non-pros do it.

Think it's mostly based on availability. At least it is in my case in a rural area.

@@brian6speed sure, but I'm also sure I'm not the only one that likes to actually hold the disc in the hand. It's also hard to judge flight numbers from different companies as there is no standard, so all you're left with are reviews that are biased on arm speed or economical reasons. I have plenty of non readily available discs, but I also caught the bug. I have more discs than most of the people I know that have been playing for years longer than me, and I'd bet they just go to a place that sells discs and buys whatever is available.
