@@elicarter1356 ahhh well you need to get that fixed asap...SOME engine braking is good but, it's used in combo with the brakes on the kart to ease the pressure on the motor as you downshift. this was just wide open engine braking. thanks for the reply I understand now
Just picked up birel go cart complete frame set up I'm going take my 89 cr125 first year of power valve install fatty exhaust .if you have any pointers fabrication on the brackets I would zelle for your knowledge I'm pm thanks.
I talked to a guy with a kx250 shifter kart that did 145mph. I couldn't imagine how crazy it would be to drive that thing. My kart scares the shit out of me already...
Sounds like it has a short circuit gearset with a short ratio transmission. It makes for some quick acceleration, but downshifting takes longer since the engine wants to keep revs up high and spins the engine into the redline. I know the brakes are gonna be sticky on these things, so even slowing down ain't gonna be easy and gentle. lol
Top ends should last a while. They recommend every 6-8 hours of racing but that’s at the top level most abused engines tuned to the most performance. You could probably get away with 40 hours. I plan on doing 20 or so since it’s cheap and relatively quick easy maintenance to do a top end. Also this guy was over revving his big time on those downshifts, and the transmission will grenade in short time with those flat foot shifts. Take care of your motor and it will last.
As long as you keep the oil/gas mix right, keep the air filter clean and change transmission oil every 5 hours of use they are like any other small engine.
This is why I will NEVER buy anyone elses kart. This does damage to the crank bearings, not only the top end. I know how respect my CR85 motor! I run it rich, NEVERR engine brake my motor and run Motul oil.
That is horrible for a two stroke engine to rev up when u down shift because there is know oil getting to the piston and eventually it’ll wear out and blow up because there’s no engine oil like a four stroke not hating love the shifter kart
You gotta build them, it's a dirt bike engine on a go Kart frame. Good luck, they're quite a bit of maintenance and suck to build but most definitely one of the funnest toys.
This defo blew up that day downshifting like that 🤦🏻♂️ piston welded to the barrel
all that engine braking will kill the kart
he said replying to a comment that the brakes didn’t work that good so he had to engine brake....

@@floridalottery3134 yeah for sure
🔥 this is so fire but idk how I'ma put it in my house after since I got no garage. I'll need 2 more hands to put it thru the door sideways
SO FUNNNN😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Does that thing even have breaks?!!
Haha not really. The brakes were not working well when I filmed this video, so I just had to use the engine to help slow me down. Sketchy forsure 😬
@@mikefrench316 but the go kart did have breaks on it, right? If so, where? I couldn't see them

Its coming! 😎🤘🤘
2 stroke all the way

Sweet!!! I want one with a 250...lol

@@mikefrench316 Sweet!!! I use to race Midgets back in the late 80s so this would be super fun.

Think I'm sell one my jetski for a kart
Put the jetski engine on a kart
Whats up man I got one cant get it to start you might helping me
How many times have u rebuilt top end since this video? Wondering because I'm about to buy one
Or have u had to replace any engine parts in general?

hey! how fo you maintain your shifter kart and is it hard?

how many hours did it last until rebuild? or is it still kicking?
Why is this an ad?
Where did you get the shifter and clutch set up
Can u gear one of these to hit 150
How many hp? My having 48 it's called tm racing✌️
Do you use the clutch when you shift everytime?
Nope dont have to

he had no brakes so he instead engine-braked lol
Hi mike
What's happening dude 🤙
I just acquired one of these are they still possible to get parts for?
Yeah cr125 parts are still readily available you just have to do some looking.
I know it's a cr125 but is there a specific year to buy that's the best spec wise ?
1996
where do you guys buy these go karts from?

Dude, ur wearing a helmet right?
Yes sir, SNELL & DOT certified 👌
charlysgames no he just casually has a GoPro mount on the side of his face
Not 80 mph more like 60
