Everyone is looking for quick money, get rich quick, including babies, nobody is interested in going through the natural process to achieve success. You've made excellent point here Doc as always and it's always delight listening to you sir, you're doing great, I wish our people would open their eyes and see opportunities in every part of southeast, I wish the youths will stop pursuing Ego mbute and start thinking properly like humans, start proper thinking on how best to develop our region, I also wish that our politicians would do the needful and work round the clock in order to bring massive development across all sectors and bring back the old glory, I just wish all of can wake up and start doing the right things.

I disagree. We don't need this man in a political office. We need to assign him a portfolio, give him the funds and the power to run it without political interference. That's how you can get the best out of him, without distractions like worrying about the next election, having to satisfy/settle the "people that voted him in" and having to worrying about other aspect of governance.

    I DISAGREE STRONGLY !
The South East governors MUST learn to sit down and build a social contract that all Eastern governors must key into when they come on board regardless of what political party you belong to.
Once we get that, we can then rally our South South brothers and collectively come to the decision to help build Port Harcourt and/or Calabar to international standards (position both to compete with Lagos)..
    - International Flights, (pax and Cargo)
    - Port Operations,
    - Embassy outlets....
    - Hotels and tourism
We must learn the art of building alliances with our neighbours and brothers nearby... We have endured insults from our further neighbours for far too long now.
Port Harcourt is not more than 6 hrs away from Onitsha/Delta...Likewise Calabar. So why should we be bothering to rally to build a rail investment all the way to Lagos.
Two things the South East governors must sit down and agree to are
1- To build high speed rails (capable of moving passengers and Cargo) from the Delta end to Onne in Port Harcourt and also to Calabar in Cros River but passing through all of the below....
a- connecting all air ports in the SE
b- dry ports in the SE
c- and City centers (all Eastern state City centers + Delta if the Delta state govt is interested in participating )
2- To build a 6 lane highway(3 on each carriage) from end to end with a transport planning model like England where there is provision for highways to go around the city centers to keep travelling traffic away from local traffic.
These should be built to interface with the high speed rail at certain connection points to ensure integrated end to end connectivityand in such a way that it will take less than 2 hours to go from one end to the other end by rail.
This will greatly reduce transport logistics costs and get a transport economy going.
Then the next thing we must do is start building processing and distribution centers along connection points to the highways and railway and allow processing and production businesses come in and rent/build theirs.
PLEASE DESIST FROM PLANNING AROUND LAGOS. It does not make logisticsl sense to keep planning outbound and inbound traffic from Lagos. The SE & SS can come together and press the government to open up Rivers state. Then from Rivers we can plan our inbound and outbound logistics.
That will reduce costs from $5.5 billion to less than $1.5 billion. Plus better security to build an economy.

Thank you Dr. Obiaraeri, please keep on shouting to these shyster governors and polithieves in the south east. We in the diaspora can only stand and watch. Alot of us are ready to come back home, to fully invest but there is not enabling environment. The same lack of enabling environment that drove many of us away over 2 decades ago. About a decade or more ago, Late Dr. Egboga & friends, wanted to setup a Technology park in owerri during Achike Udenwa's tenure, but the foolish Udenwa wanted to use the idea for politics and to own it and run it his own way. This angered the late investor, and he pulled out of the proposal; that was how that dream died.

our biggest problem, not just for us Igbo but Nigerians generally, is the APC and their wicked, self-centred, parochial, bigoted and anti-Igbo attitude! see the two visionless governors they forced on us in the south-east.
all these bold visions you're listing....our biggest stumbling block to achieving them is Abuja and those there that have sworn Ndigbo/south-east will not have the freedom, security (THEY are the ones causing insecurity in the south-east whether by omission or commission), and use of our resources to develop at our own pace!
so just to summerize, our biggest problems as Igbo and a region are outsiders who do not wish us well, and the Igbo house-slaves they empowered into governance in the south-east and nationally. take these two factors out of the equation and watch the south-east return to the Okparaesque levels of development!
