There are six brand-new levels and some entirely custom bosses for you to defeat. Despite this modified rom looking very "vanilla" on the surface, it features a totally re-organized and cleaned up Sonic 1 engine. This allowed the creator to add more secrets, speed up the development process towards the end significantly, and bring you this monstrosity of a rom modification.
This rom has five difficulties for you to choose from:
• Weak - For people who don't want a challenge. No spike bug, standard gameplay.
• Normal - The default difficulty. Spike bug is enabled, and all projectiles bounce.
• Hard - For harder bosses. Identical to Normal, but with your rings being cleared before boss fights.
• Nightmare - No. Rings.
• ??? - ???

Random claim happened during a small portion of the first boss battle and most of the final boss battle. Not sure if it was legit or not, so I ended up muting it.

With the name, the music, and the explosions, it looks like this game is trying to seem a lot more intense than the leisurely romp it is. That being said it’s very well designed, and those custom bosses are fantastic.
