His voice was as smooth as silk. In our college days, we used to call him Thai Airways as it was tag line of the airways. There is none to come even near to Talat ji. I still remember to have played Antakshari using only Talat songs. It was really a most memorable era of Hindi songs.

I was lucky to listen to Talat saab live for about 2hours in centenary auditorium,Madras University in the early 80s. There his song zindagi Dene vale sun was repeated several times on public demand.what music was flowing from his being !!!.i was totally mesmerized. Such a humble being he was. We grew up listening to Talat Mehmood songs on radio Cylone. My mother suffered from "dementia" in her 80's. In her last few months she remembered only a few of us and Talat Mehmood's songs.
