Can you give suggestions as to how to balance the weaker corps to make them more viable? Eg change the starting Gold. We play so much we’ve been thinking of house rule/writing adjustments on the sleeved corp and prelude cards
Hi. I'm a total noob at TM, since I have only played with my friends a couple of times in person, but i have liked it very much each time. We usually play in 5, never less than 4 players. Do you think this tier list stands at those players counts or something changes radically? TY 🙂
I have very little experience with playing at 5 players, but the gist of it is that the game is much quicker. That means all corps that are best at engine style gameplay (Vitor, Point Luna, Mining Guild) are much weaker. Try to stick to corps that have high starting capital, as that's much more influential in quick games (Teractor, Credicor). And also, milestones are super important in tp, so if the combination of a corp and cards is perfect for one of the milestones, then go for it (try to avoid planner tho).
Are you really putting Robinson and Vitor on the same level? I cannot agree to that :D Vitor grants you the strongest discount in the game which will automatically grant you money back at all stages of the game. With Robinson, you have to pay for prod and cannot even freely choose which prod you want. It's only useful in the early to midgame and it doesn't even have a tag. With Valley Trust I might be a bit biased, but don't forget its ability. I know most people just think about the prelude and surely it's the most important part, but you also get a discount on one of the strongest tags in the game!
@@marsexpert4276 Hahaha no no my message was poorly written, I was making 2 separate comparisons point Luna better than Vitor, and robinson better than valley, But point luna manutech and vitor are on a tier of their own to me. My thing with valley is that the 3rd prelude is really good for rushing but the science tag discount can't be exploited as much with that strat, If you get 3 engine preludes it can be strong but still not as strong as some of the best engine corps. Robinson on the other hand i feel like maybe I'm used to it but if you manage to use your ability on titanium, and steel until gen 4 and then plants until gen 7 you get the best of the ability so you need to pick preludes that give you cash/heat/energy which not a lot of people do, but Idk, maybe Im biased haha
Alright, I get it now :D yeah you can definitely argue that Point Luna is better than Vitor...I think it comes down to preference. Free card draw is insane, but with Point Luna I feel that happens regularly that you don't get any earth tags. With Vitor that does not happen. And with Valley Trust, I'm not sure I csn agree. It's my favourite corp and I love it and I think it's busted :D
@@marsexpert4276 Haha ok ill give you valley trust if we can agree Viron is awesome as well, and I promise to stop calling Valley boring too XD. Yeah ok i guess we can say point Luna is higher ceiling, lower floor and Vitor is more consistent, but i guess good earth tags are so common and cheap (even more so with expansions), that it makes the ceiling not so rare and I can give point Luna the win on the aggregate
I would be tempted to place Robinson at the top of C tier, but I have had some decent games with it, so bottom of B is probably just about right. But Valley Trust is not A tier at all. It is poor and has a weak effect, and there is a good chance that the best prelude drawn will not compensate. I agree its fun and has a higher ceiling than other corps, but it is unreliable and belongs towards the bottom of B tier.
Maybe I'm biased with Valley Trust, but I had too many insane starts with this corp. I just think It's super flexible and also has a discount on one of the strongest tags in the game.

I actually have prduced a video talking about that. It will come out in 2.5 weeks :)

Point Luna > Vitor, Robinson > Valley Trust. Change my mind! XD
