timing! i was just learning hybrid picking with arpeggios this breaks it further down. love the new patterns i learned especially the down hammer hammer, down hybrid pick hammer hammer my right hand has it down but my left hand is having trouble being independent of each other hahaha
Using Pick-Hybrid-Hybrid VS Pick-Pick-Hybrid is better for me as I practice this technique. For those finger style players out there, try the PHH style too, being able to weave in and out of both hybrid picking styles creates some new avenues of playing.
To me PPH makes more sense (meaning it's easier for me) because you have down and up stroke so it's more fluid and so the hybrid comes in as a third movement, following the two pick
Any particular reason for doing down down hybrid instead of down hybrid hybrid for those patterns? I started learning hybrid picking from watching you and joseph play and you're by far my biggest inspiration in the instrument and from learning your licks and practicing I noticed that down hybrid hybrid feels a lot more natural for me, so I'm just curious if there is a reason for that or maybe the other one just feels natural to you. Thanks for the video!
Love this video dude, thank you! Gotta say, I'm interested in the channel membership but haven't pulled the trigger. More content like this in long-form would get me there!!
This is pure gold. Thank you.
Can this be done on saxophone?
😂😂
this is great! it be cool to see more on how you work on descending licks
Thanks Josh, you a legend. So coherent

muito obrigado pela aula gratuita! incrivel!!
By far the cleanest technique I've ever seen on a guitar player. Hats off dude.
You need to see more Tom Quayle then 😆 Josh is definitely UP THERE though!
Can you do a video on how you construct lines :] especially with the 3nps pentatonic/false fingering type stuff! That would be really cool
Perfect playing🔥🤘
this down down hybrid is what I also do, I noticed rn
Another cool video ! I'm curious, which camera & lens are you using here ?
I’m sorry unrelated question but what camera do you use? it looks amazing, also love what you do with garstka!

I think ddh has a different texture to it, picking with a pick has a harsher texture, while finger is more mellow, dunno how to explain it
@@mykolamelnyk978 yeah that makes a lot of sense. Thanks!
What guitar is that? Sounds beautiful!
