Water in Evacuation

- We do the unthinkable and introduce standing water in a 5 ton system. By using TruBlu hoses and a DC motor vacuum pump, we pull a system down to 200 microns in record time (for a wet system that is). We calculated that by using the TruBlu hoses, we have saved about 17 hours in time compared to using the traditional 1/4"hoses.
Thank very much from Russia!
Very best!

Might add that if there is bubbling in the vacuum pump oil sight glass that is an indicator of moisture in the oil.

Jim it was great to watch you on hvac overtime. I was able to download the COMBUSTION literature. Thanks for the information.

Shoptalk sent us!!!
Such an awesome video Jim! I always wondered why sometimes my vacuums would stall around 2500 or 3000 microns. Now I know
But sometimes also means you have a leak.
SHOPTALK sent me!!!!!! Great video!!!!

Thank for the video Jim. I'm curious, in the situation you demoed, would a triple evac help get the moisture out quicker. I have always thought that is why we triple evac but did not here you mention that. Thanks
Edit: I saw this question asked and answered in the comments. New question, why do we triple evac then, if not to remove moisture????

"ShopTalk Sent Us" Accutools rocks!

Purging some nitrogen through while pumping will help dry the system out considerably faster.
Dry as well as good-n-tight.

thanks

" Shop talk sent us " i'd be interested to see how much time would really be saved with these on the small stuff i work on. everything i work on these days is under 1 hp for the most part. usually 1/2 hp or less.
i could see where these would be Majorly beneficial if i was Pulling down a 30 ton chiller system.

Never used trublu can’t wait
“Shop talk sent us”
It was Good to see how water is get removed.
anyway Is it good to be another solution if i heat the pipes with torch or cover the lines with thermic rays (you know it has 60'C)?
i think it will be work, dont you?
Does purging with nitrogen help to expel moisture before evacuating?
“Shoptalk sent us!”
oh and shop talk sent us
ShopTalk Sent Us!
Is that moisture still left at the sight glass or just oil from ref? If vacuum is taking longer, should I just keep pulling vacuum until it goes down or do triple evac and break it with nitrogen?
You can heated up to accelerate
Rip to that pumps vac oil 😢 poe refrigerant oil is microscopic like vacuum oil does a deep vacuum pull all the moisture out the oil ?

If you are pulling a vacuum on a system with an old filter drier are you dehydrating the filter drier desiccant?
Shop y’all sent us
Jim, if you have moisture in the system and you level out around 2000 microns, would it be helpful to sweep the system with nitrogen and bring it back to a positive pressure then blow the nitrogen out, or just let the pump keep the vacuum pulling?
The only thing nitrogen would do is allow it time to melt if it was ice. The best bet is to just keep pulling.
After blowing Nitrogen thru add a shot of refrigerant (triple evac) if nobody is watching!
