John Wayne & Clint Eastwood, crabbing & fishing, berry picking, & hanging out at the camp. I truly enjoy watching teens appreciate the recreational opportunities provided by their parents hard work. My generation seemed to have a lot more of this where the youth are content with simple natural pleasures, enjoying God’s Creation & spending time with the family. Of course we didn’t have nearly as many other options as today so very thankful to see a young lady living that way today. Glad I stumbled across the channel. Looking forward to more of the same content as well as landing those fish.
What I love most about where I live is you can go to one spot and pick fresh or salt fishing and be successful at both. As a kid we had access to a family camp that even had an artesian spring. You could take cats from the muddiest and most algae fills waters, drop them in a pen fed by the spring and in a few days get the cleanest tasting catfish. It’s hard to make a good living here, but this is an easy place to be poor if you are flexible on your proteins and willing to make a little effort.
👍 Love what content you do, nice to see a really sweet young lady embrace your family culture, God bless and keep up the great video's,Thanks for all your hard work.
I used to fish down that way with a friend, out of Bayou Black... I'm forgetting now, but seems it was down below Berwick...? We'd fish the weirs on Bayou Copesaw, where pipelines crossed... We were having Good Times... Damn Good Times...!
People have had "Tiny Houses" for years. Forgot how much I hate lilies. We kept a rope across the canal to catch them. Had to lift the motor and be cool going back and forth. Looks like so much fun.
Awesome lifestyle, awesome content, this City dweller in the UK is so jealous. New to your channel but will binge watch the rest and wait for new content with baited breath
I was looking up "Dat Louisiana Life" and I found your channel. All I can say is Kee-Yaw! I miss Lake Verrette like Crazy! You sound like one of my Landry cousins from Paincourtville. I was born in Napoleonville. I miss the Cajun country, and the Cajun Girls, too, me.
you got a slice of paradise i went blue crabbing with a neighbor in florida i tried to grab one from behind id never handled one before it took a chunk out of my finger i got even i ate him !!! 😂😂😂😂
I just discovered your channel. Lots of adventure. I do have a question 🙋♀️ How safe is it for you and your family to be so close to the edge of the water that is filled with alligators 🐊? Does your dog know not to jump into the water ? I’m at the edge of my recliner while seeing the alligators in the water
I love in Texas but my mom's family is from Louisiana. My grandmother didn't speak English until she was in her teens. Full blooded cajun. My family down there still has that accent like you and your family.
Wow i just found your videos and I really love this first one and now I’m going to watch more. lol if that’s your husband he doesn’t like be on the video with you. At least not on this one lol. 😂 very great video
Gotta keep the shower cleaned out. In Louisiana the air is trying to constantly kill us. It’s to hot an humid to go without even a quick shower to get clean. Better yall than me. Ild have to make sure least that much with mine was good to go. Maybe it’s just me. I can look out the windows from in the air inside an start sweating just seeing the outside
Where's your camp at? I was born and raised in Morgan City, LA. My daddy is 90 years old and still goes to his camp in the marsh just off the gulf coast via Cocodrie or the mouth of the Atchafalaya river. Good times!
I have friend that looks just like you I luv her you make my Day of who yourself Really is you are awesome to me an I don't even know you but I feel I do thanks an tell mom hey an have Fun an enjoy life luv always
Nice camp! I just saw male crabs, where are the females? When you were pulling the traps, all I was thinking about was the couple of times I found a snake in there. When you were picking berries, same thing 😂
Awesome video, thanks 👍 What was the cheese you put in the grits? And what kind of crabs are those? I hope the dog doesn’t jump in the water to show those gators 🐊 who’s boss. Thanks again
HELLO! I'm Recently retired,, & I'm very handy, Jack of all trades & love to fish & hunt. water is my magnet! I have access to some 30' long pontoon boats, & can always get my hands on OLD, free campers. ;>) MAN, would I love to do what you guys are doing! I have a dozen questions. How did you find your 'spot' to anchor up? Do you stay/ park in that spot or area all year? How does your pontoon cabin fair, with all of the storms that go through that backwater area? ( that was a dooozie last night!??) How would a person go about finding some land, a spot to lease? Are there any pontoon houseboat rentals in your area that you know about? Well,,,that's enough for now,,, I'm just starting to think about it. Thanks for the awesome video!
There’s plenty places that you can get a camp site lease on public lake type places that aren’t hunting leases just need to find what land management company owns the property as for hunting leases there few and far between with long waiting list!!! As for storms it’s to hard to move a camp with out a lot of planning so hopefully it rides it out!!

It's beautiful out there. Do you have to buy a spot to park your houseboat, or can you just park it anywhere?
We lease the land
@CajunGirlOutdoors Oh cool. Is it really expensive to lease spots out there?
I hope you watch your dog closely.I do know gators love dogs and labs love the water.
Awesome video, thanks 👍 What was the cheese you put in the grits? And what kind of crabs are those? I hope the dog doesn’t jump in the water to show those gators 🐊 who’s boss. Thanks again
Hog head cheese, not really cheese but it made from pig parts and seasonings.
