I would love to see a review/comparison between the Descender, the Shorty and the Makrill.

Hi, Lars. Thanks for all the great information!
Can you please recommend a two board quiver to start with from Stranda?
I'm interested in a Cheater paired with one of the all mountain boards.
What do think would be the most versatile combination? I don't ride park, just carving and freeride; we have steep variable terrain in Idaho with ice and mostly higher moisture, heavy powder. I'm leaning towards the Descender, but the Shorty and Biru also look great.
I'm 92 kg, 175.25cm, 10.5 Burton Ions, and currently ride a 162 Amplid Souly Grail.
    Thank you!

Thanks so much for your appreciation!!
You're on the right track!! Descender and Cheater together will get you anywhere. The Shorty is better in fresh pow than the Descender, but for everything you describe the Descender is gonna be the right tool. I call it my 'day after the pow day pow board' :-) It crushes variable terrain with so much confidence, predictability and grip, it's an amazing freeride board. It carves well, too! You could easily go with the 162 wide. But if you're not ever gonna carve it, the 161 will be fine. It's narrower by 9mm I believe. I hope this helps!!

@@Justaride-Snowboard-Channel Thanks for the advice! It sounds like a 170w Cheater and 162w Descender would be a great combo.

In conditions like this, are you still running posi for both feet?

Yes, but a little less aggressive... 27/9 or 27/6... 🙂

Hi Lars - Love your channel. Is the Shorty board good for carving ? I'm looking for a carving/powder board but mainly 80% of the time will be carving

I love the Shorty. If I was only allowed one snowboard, that would be the one! Carves super well. Just make sure you upsize!!! It's meant to be ridden longer!! Say you're normally on a 159, buy the 164 and not the 159... The nose is intentionally softer so it absorbs all the shocks in bad conditions. That softness helps with quick and easy turn initiation when carving, too. Buying it too short may lead to overpowering the board in the front.

Ok I am sold on it. I will order one. I have boot 10.5 and weight about 200lbs. Do you recommend 164W or 164? Stay awesome Lars@@Justaride-Snowboard-Channel

Hi Lars I’m interested in Stranda boards in particular a Cheater 170W as I’m committed to improving my carving. Just wondering how the Cheater compares to the shorty & descender as a daily driver

    • @Justaride-Snowboard-Channel
      @Justaride-Snowboard-Channel  7 месяцев назад +3

If you want more versatility combined with well above average carving, get a Shorty! But bear in mind to buy it longer than your regular board!! If you're usually on a 158 to 160, buy the Shorty 164!! The Shorty is designed that way!!
The Cheater is only versatile for pretty tall/heavy people. 170cm take some effort to whip around in trees or in bumps.... For carving the board is unbeatable - imo.
Descender is very versatile and carves like an animal, too. But due to its radial sidecut and large radius it's not the same kind of snappy fun that the Shorty and Cheater have. Descender is more about maximum stability at any speed... a freeride machine!
      Hope that helps.

@@Justaride-Snowboard-Channel I'd love to see your review of Descender and Comparison with the Cheater. As a big foot guy I should probably go for Cheater, but on the other hand I'd like to have versatility of the Descender. I heard it has 4 contant points, is there something like "too much grip"?

Hey Chris, did you end up buying a Stranda? And if so, how did you find the brand? Was that through my content, or through retailers or Stranda? Would be cool to know! Cheers!

    • @Justaride-Snowboard-Channel

Sorry for the late reply! The Descender and Cheater can't really be compared. Carving on a Cheater is much more exciting. The large radius of the Descender combined with the early rise tips and lower camber make the board feel less snappy than the Cheater. Therefore it floats amazingly well, is at home in technical freeride terrain and is insanely stable at high speed. Both boards are great. Let me know, if you decide to buy one! Cheers!
