- Today Dan and Chelle visit Iceland's most dangerous beach and realize for themselves why tourists can't stay away from Reynisfjara! They check into their new Airbnb at Black Beach Suites just outside the town of Vik and give a full room tour before heading out to the nearby black sand beaches. As they drive towards the coast they make a quick stop to admire the beautiful churches right off the sides of the road. Once they arrive at Reynisfjara they are blown away by how grand and epic the landscapes are! They stroll the black, volcanic sands of the beach and find out why it's Iceland's most dangerous! Rouge waves randomly crash high up onto the shores and catch people off guard! Most just end up a little wet, but waves large enough can pull unsuspecting tourists back out into the rough surf. Dan and Chelle climb up onto the unique basalt rock formations along the beach, explore caves, and enjoy the spectacular views of Reynisdrangar's rock spires out in the ocean. Afterwards they drive up to Dyrholaey to see the lighthouse, more beautiful rock formations, and views of the endless black sand beaches to the north. They grab dinner (frozen pizza) back at their Airbnb, and hit the ground editing.

I was there for 5 days we had 1 clear Northern lights sighting & it was glorious we were sat on top of a mountain in pitch dark with the most magical glistening stars ✨ then suddenly the most wonderful sight I’ve ever seen the beautiful greens of the northern lights flashing & dancing in the sky’s above us it felt like we could reach out& touch them I felt so privileged to be there witnessing this Magical Phenomenon....I hope with baited breath that you got to see it Dan & Chell.....

Gotta be really careful on those rock columns-especially at high tide. Also, people get way too close to the waves every season and get swept out. You have to stay way back-further than you think. But tourists ignore the signs and even their own tour guides. So, they get caught before they know it. It's no joke. A woman died the summer I was there.

Hi Ryan's mom Sam here... I have to say thank you for showing me Iceland it is incredible I always wanted to go 😘 I carnt get out much now due to mobility issues and I have to wear oxygen so seeing these vlogs is brilliant 😁 I have to say though i used to work and live in the * Outer Hebrides * in Scotland and Iceland is so similar to it ( excluding the black volcanic sand) 😂 and if you think about it these places are not that far away from each other 😁 you need to visit Scotland I know you would love it love you guys xx

You are so correct. Iceland gets better and better the further you are from the city. I hope you made it to Diamond Beach and the glacier lake area next to it. But when I walked on this beach it felt like I went to heaven. It was magical. I’m surprised that you could drone there. The winds when we went in April were too strong our drone wouldn’t fly like half the time we were there. I’m jealous of your beautiful photos and drone footage!!!! 💕💕
Yeah the winds were crazy most days! We were lucky and had some calm weather this day.

You mentioned the name Reynisfjara but not the name of the arch with the hole. It's called Dyrhólaey. I've got a bunch of similar pictures of the formations, but none of that beautiful drone footage. I have pictures of that iconic church there too. Besides the nice water to drink, the other part of Icelandic water is the hot comes in the house that way from natural geothermal sources. No need to have a huge heating bill.
Those column rocks look very much like Giants Causeway in Ireland, they’re the same shape

The columns are called basalt. Of course they are a product of volcanic action. You can also find them along the Columbia river in Washington State. Sorry to hear about your dad.

You must respect that beach,it has many hidden dangers,it is not a game,those icy waves will drag you back out into the icy open ocean,what may seem like fun to you,is actually quite deadly..and sadly many innocent lives have been lost because they simply couldn't see the very real dangers,untill it was to late..and then it was..please don't play games with these icy waves,they are incredibly powerfull and strong,and stop,look and listen,act as though your very life depends on it,while at this beach..because it does!..in seconds it's over..it's that easy..DEAD EASY!.

Been to the beach when the waves were huge the day we were there and they kept saying never turn your back to the waves. It was so loud and the waves were intense.
