- In this video we would like to explain a bit more why breathing is key in controling your bouyancy underwater. Come and join us on one of our UTD Extreme scuba makeover workshops and learn this first hand . www.nowdive.dk...
i wish i saw this before my first dive during my OWC. this is definitely helpful for those who dives.
Good info, I had to figure this out on my own. I’m glad to see an instructor is coming out to say all this.
Nice job! Just as balance is central to bicycle riding, breathing is central to scuba not only for sustaining life but also for maintaining buoyancy. Breathing skill also sets the stage for diver relaxation and extending dive time. The UTD approach gets breathing-for-control into the picture immediately and builds from there, rather than confusing the student with a disjointed assemblage of compartmentalized skills and gear components. Bravo!
Great and very helpful explanation!
Your technique of diving without equipment on is suitable for students who have no background in water sports. A great way to build up their confidence.
thanks indeed for this unique video.. it's very useful and clear..
why didnt my instructor teach me breathing techniques.....thank you for your very informative and valuable lesson for me as a new PADI OW diver.
Ben, thank you so much for your effort of making all these diving tips videos on RUclips. I have learnt so much supplementary from your generous sharing.
To me, you are like the Obi Wan Kenobi in Scuba diving. Coincidentally, he is Ben, too. LOL!
Thank you very much for you kind words, " my young padawan" :-) Most of this content will move to the official UTD RUclips channel, so check that out here: ruclips.net/user/UnifiedTeamDiving
@@NOWDiveSkanderborg yes, my master 🤪
Best explanation ever! I wish my instructor has time to explain to me like this. Great Job 👌 like & subscribed done!!!!
Great video and good info as always. Keep them coming.
Very nice way of teaching!!! Thanks!!
I'm impressed with your videos. Very helpful. Well done.
Next month I'm starting with my instructor course (CMAS).
If all goes well, I'll be using this technique for students.
Great video thanks for sharing
Great Video Ben!
Excellent
There is a difference between slowing/stopping your breathing and "holding your breath" though. Pausing breathing in or out is very different from breathing in and closing your airway - which is the conventional meaning for "holding your breath". The important thing is keeping your airway open.
If you're going to say it's ok to hold your breath, please make clear that it's *not* ok to breath in and close your airway - the airway must remain open.
diving things kick ass. Cool.
Whats in the glass?
That shot of espresso sure looks good.
I love that crema on the top.
I was wondering how long till you tasted it.
Watching this as a ccr diver thinking that was the day
👍👍👍
Bro!!!! I hold my breath and sink 😆
Then you must be a fit guy with good muscle mass. Muscles are heavier than the fatty tissue. So in some cases, like you. You might sink. But probably not to the bottom but just under the surface. Right. ?
Ben Bos shoot, I’m super out of shape. Built like a twig. Not much muscle, and probably got lead in my head. 😂 Yeah, I was about 6 inches below the surface. Might just dive with a tool of quarters in my pocket 😆
