So the tragedy that was mentioned in this video starts with Kim Jonghyun from boy group Shinee who committed suicide at 18th of December 2017. BTS attended his funeral and cried there. It was actually painful to watch. They were close to him. But just imagine how Jonghyun members were feeling. You knew this person for so many years, it’s your band mate, even more that that, it’s your brother literally. It’s too painful. And then almost 2 years after Sulli from girl group f(x) also committed suicide in October of 2019 bcs of cyber bullying and death threats. That was hard for all of us but then literally month after another suicide was committed by Goo Hara from girl group Kara. She was also attacked by people on the Internet but she also was really good friends with Sulli and Jonghyun. So it was hard for her to loose her friends but then also this bullying and deaths threats. That was shocking and painful not only for their fans but all kpop world and Korea itself. I’m still crying bcs of that. Sometimes it feels like ppl are just so stupid and don’t know how much it hurts. They just literally killed 3 precious and kindest persons in kpop that I knew. But Asante guys💜 purple you, please take care of yourself and also don’t listen to the haters.
Seeing BTS at Kim Jonghyun's (Shinee member) funeral years ago... was really something else. I was a fan of them back then and had been a huge fan of Shinee before. The boys were crying.. stone-faced and deeply effected. You should look up videos of the funeral so you can see how real and serious this issue is. It was a national tragedy for the entertainment industry.. and shocking! I cried watching the funeral.. all the artists and friends going in to greet the family. I am still sad about it. Then Sulli and Goo Hara... two beautiful young women who were bullied for years until they also killed themselves. Sulli's was relentless. So pointless. People just took joy in targeting her like she wasn't even a human. It was disgusting. Her death and continued bullying led her best friend Goo Hara to also take her life. All of this happened in a short amount of time. Remember that BTS knew these people and I know for a fact they were close to Jonghyun. He was a beautiful soul. They all were. And they are not the only ones who have passed in this way. I'm glad that BTS made this song. They have a platform and are able to speak about topics that normally are not discussed. I'm sure they were infuriated by these senseless deaths and now the idols were defenseless in protecting themselves from abuse.
