      Did the doctor say anything about a possible mini stroke? Almost sounds like you had a TIA. Maybe broach that with your doctor. Keep up the good work!

    Awesome shave, Eric! I do not recall you ever had a heavy growth. The TI mowed it like it was nothing. Glad you got off the cholesteral medication and that you will soon no longer be a one-man show at work. Have a great week!

    Eric - I am so sorry you had to go through that. That must have been very scary. When it comes to my own health, In those type of situations, my mind tends to assume the worst, so I am so thankful it was an easy fix for you. That was a beautiful view from your time outdoors with your family. Great shave as always! I hope you have a great week!

    Eric, good to hear you are much better now. That' s quiet a reaction you had to the statins!
    I like the multi cam view, it's unique, everone else does the face to camera shot and that's it. I also really liked the footage of your country. It's always interesting to see other parts of the world & hear a storey behind it. The pianist must have been tired this week, no music!

    • @AdventuresInWetShaving

      XXXXCarbon6XXxx, I forgot the background music this week. Lol, I'm still not firing on all cyclers. Hopefully, I'll remember everything next time. I'm so happy you like the multi-cam point-of-view camera shots! I feel it tells a more complete story of the shave. I will also continue to add in more of the places we go.

      Paul, this TI Frame Back did an amazing job on that growth. I thought for sure I'd need to do some cleanup work, but no! It was all gone. Each day I am getting better mate! The prep day really isn't any fun for sure. However, we get her done by keeping the faith brother! It's all about being positive.

    I recently purchased a Vermont Green slate hone from Griffith Shaving Goods. I have been experimenting with it and find that if you use it after a Naniwa 12k it produces a very similar edge as with a translucent Arkansas stone from Dan’s Whetstones followed up by a black Arkansas also from Dan’s Whetstones. I have a La Lune and a ILR Premium stone but the edges they produce are a little on the harsh side for me. So the Vermont Green slate is a real finisher at a much lower cost, IMO. I’ve found that if you lap the Vermont Green slate to 800 grit to 1000 grit wet/dry sandpaper it works really good at producing a keen yet smooth edge just as with the Arkansas stones. The Arkansas stones have been final lapped flat with 600 grit SIC powder on a glass plate. Sorry for the long post. Everyone have an awesome day!

    Stay away from doctors!
    A week is the most i can go without a shave and at the end of that time the itching drives me mad. A fast face lather and a one pass 'knock it down some' shave will do in a pinch.
    You definitely don't want to use an open blade if you are not feeling 100%.
    Since i shave my head, usually with a DE, i'll make a case for using one of those if you are under the weather. It's not the same, but it's not as risky either!

    • @AdventuresInWetShaving
      @AdventuresInWetShaving  3 года назад +3

      T, it was so itchy normally I would do a quick one-pass shave, but this time I went for it and it turned out nicely. Definitely pick the right razor for the job! I do have a DE I haven't used it in years. I'll have to give it a go. That's a great idea!

      It's not sharp enough then. Anyone that thinks hair is stronger than steel is kidding themselves. The issue is the blade is not shave ready or your technique is deficient and both are easily remedied. No, no - i have the toughest beard in the world - ok, if you say so.

    Hey mate! Because of frame spine of blade - how it stay dry and with No rust under and edges of frame..? Usually theyre rusted tight to blade in vintage straight razors.

    • @AdventuresInWetShaving
      @AdventuresInWetShaving  3 года назад +2

      Great question Pekka! ;) With this razor, the blade was clamped in when they made it and it wasn't meant to come out, but I don't see a lot of rust on it. The razor does look like it had some kind of a gold wash on it, may that helps with the rusting.
