This makes me think of an apartment complex at night, every single light that is on represents your life, all those lights have a reason to be on.

2:48 I remember going here when I was a tiny kid before they closed down (probably not actually the one pictured - I'm sure they built them exactly the same in every Kmart). It was the closest pizza place to home so we'd pick up dinner from there on special occasions. Good memories.

The places closest to home are always the most nostalgic...

The most liminal place i've ever seen in my life was Valley View mall in Dallas TX. it was almost completely abandoned for a couple years before they finally demo'd it a few years ago. There was a WW2 uniform/gear museum on the 3rd level, a few gyms on the bottom level and I think a barber shop. The rest of this massive 3 tier'd mall built in the late 70s was just empty space and places that look just like this. I'd go there on a regular basis to take pics and chill there. There is a very famous pic you see in liminal spaces threads on /x/ from Valley View mall. It's the big black grim reaper monster thing. next to the WW2 museum was a temporary art expo, and that was the big scary monster there. It was actually attached to a dolly and you could wheel it around carefully.

I take it you haven't seen Kane Pixels "The Oldest View" yet? He did his followup series to The Backrooms with a near perfect recreation of that very mall, including the 'monster' thing (which was actually a cardboard effigy of a 19th century botanist).

Oh man I wish I could have seen it! I live in Texas and I may have even driven by that area a few times, but I can't ever remember going there and seeing the museum. It would have been neat to walk through in-person...

A lot of “backroom’s” vibes, along with 28 days later kinda vibes, abandonment, desolation , surrealism, sometimes almost apocalyptic, I like it, very cool compilation 19:42 the rabbits! 23:23 end level. Nice backing music 😎👍
