I remember watching your tv series many many years ago and it’s great to still see you getting ready for new adventures! Congratulations she’s getting beautiful 🥂
Parabéns pela realização deste projeto de vida. Vocês me inspiraram a comprar um barco e viver essas emoções. Obrigado pelas belas imagens e aprendizado. Cap. Great video yet again. So glad we were able to share the morning with you guys. Hopefully our paths will cross again. Cheers, Denise & Bryan (Willow II)
Thanks, guys! We were so thrilled that you were able to attend our Launch Party and that we could get together later aboard the beautiful Willow II. We look forward to the next time we see you. 🥰 Happy cruising!
Hi Paul and Cheryl fantastic. It’s wonderful to see you christen this boat in a good way. I am an ordained Pastor /minister. And as wonderful to see you, prayed over distant sure, yacht , May bless her and all that sails on her Ps Clifton from Australia
This was simply WONDERFUL! : - ) I sure wish I could have been there! DS IV is such a beautiful sailboat. Did you talk with Dan and Kika about sailing up to Svalbard? If they can do it in a fiberglass boat you guys certainly can. : - ) Good luck on all future sails.
Thank you so much for having me, it was too short, but really great to meet you two in person! (I am at 3:51 :-)) Also, the open house at KM was very cool, I am going to make sure I have more time on my hand next year.
Future episode idea- how about explain the advantages of swing/lifting keel? You clearly like them and many of us struggle to understand the sacrifices in space and complications necessary.
Beautiful vessel… congrats. I bought an aluminum hull fishing vessel many moons ago and loved it. Had it for 22 years before selling. Are the sounds of water against hull louder vs fiberglass? That was one thing I noticed when I went aluminum. Safe travels, my tv & internet friends.
I was going to ask the same question. I know it was windy but it did sound noisy down below. I suppose all hull materials are a compromise one way or another. Regardless, she looks lovely.
Kia Ora, firstly congrats on your splashing, truely lovely and jealous. Please excuse my ignorance, what are the 2 solid beams from your mast to the fore peak ? Cheers Tony
I have been told that sailors have a long tradition of superstitions and are in general traditional people. I suspect that the competition side of sailing is more open to change and more rational in its beliefs, but I don't really know. Religious people are surprisingly common everywhere. i assume Christianity has been able to adopt in this context also tradition too and give it's of religions layer of meaning. It's been a successful strategy for it elsewhere in it's invasion into different cultures. Do the other religions of the world have similar traditions about boats, do know?
@@DistantShoresTV My grandfather was a sailor on commercial ships a long time ago. But originally he was from inland. I got a glimpse of the seafaring people about 60 years ago. Inland people don't really share them same traditions. Most nations however have seashores too, but not all and cultures and traditions are often more regional. Some nations are seafarers, I agree, but rarely the whole culture and population. Inland cultures have traditions and old beliefs about beings in lakes and rivers. I like all lightweight material on an aluminum catamaran but on your boat, I would think that splurging a little bit on the weight to get a beautiful countertop like you have is just fine for a mono hull. A mono hull should also be lightweight but it's not as critical as a catamaran for the performance aspect.
May your bow be clear, your rudder be light, and your wind be fair.
Thanks that’s beautiful!! Also Cem Yilmaz G.O.R.A. Is our favourite film by Cem😊🙏🏻

Thanks very much Adam🤗 our hull is insulated down to the waterline and we find it quite good at reducing wave slapping and noise…

Double jib furler?

Thanks @turkvette! The hull is bare aluminum but naturally new and shiny ✨

Yes, seafaring traditions seem to encompass all nations. Thanks for your comments.

Don’t try this at home kids

In the name of Poseidon, Neptune!!!
