The golden years of the Ottoman Empire come to life in a television series. The life of Suleiman the Magnificent is preparing to be a guest in your homes in all its glory. Get ready to experience the era with ambition, loves, wars and all the struggle.
Prince Solomon, with his closest man, Ibrahim Pargam Ibrahim receives the bad news in a hunt. His father Yavuz Sultan Selim Khan passed away. Prince Suleyman sets out for Istanbul without waiting. Prince Süleyman quickly reaches the capital. He attends the culus ceremony without waiting. His life changed in one day. He started his life as Sultan Süleyman.
Meanwhile, a galley loaded with slaves coming over the Black Sea is heading towards Istanbul. The hottest of the slaves is not yet aware that he is on a journey that will change his destiny. He is rebelling helplessly to return.
Sultan Süleyman wants to show what kind of sultan he is by the commands he gave on the first day of his sultanate. But not everyone will like these decisions. Sultan Süleyman does not hesitate to challenge all of Europe with the messages he sends.
Alex, despite all his rebellion, is brought to the Topkapi palace. His attitude attracted the attention of Valide Sultan from the first moment. But it won't be long before Alex learns the rules of the palace. He chooses a great target. Alex, Sultan Suleyman's first night on the way to attract his attention. Sultan Suleiman's wife Mahidevran just arrived from the palace of Manisa. He is looking forward to seeing his wife.
Ama Alex’in sarayın kurallarını öğrenmesi uzun sürmez. Kendisine büyük bir hedef seçer. Alex, Sultan Süleyman’ın karşısına çıktığı ilk gecede onun ilgisini çekmeyi başarır. Sultan Süleyman’ın eşi Mahidevran ise Manisa sarayından yeni gelmiş. Eşi ile görüşmeyi sabırsızlıkla beklemektedir.

This was one of the most painful scenes to watch. It's terrible, the suffering of all the enslaved people, who lost their lives, their loved ones, their families, their childhood, their will to decide about their fate. This just shows how we should always value the freedom we have and the life we are allowed to live.

As a Greek my country lived 400 years as slaves to the Empire. Many of the young boys were taken from their families and became muslims which served in the army, killing without even knowing their own families And of course the young girls to go the the Sultan harem... if you read about the Soultanas none of them are Turkish. They are all slaves from Christian countries Hurem was the daughter of a priest from Poland. Sometimes when i read about slavery in the Americans, I wonder if the African Americans know about the slavery in the Balkan area. 400 years... one was born and died a slave

It’s not that they didn’t know about equality. It’s a system purposely designed that way. Almost all the palace other than blood or freed legal wives were slaves. This ensured no one would be able but seize power if everyone was enslaved. But that didn’t mean they didn’t have certain rights and privileges. All of the officials were highly educated. I think some of the harem girls were also educated to better please their masters. Even women who were slaves could have slaves themselves - like mahidevran and her servants.

First time of seeing this scene and I can say for sure, that I will never forget it. It was so filled with emotion and immense pain from those who suffered...They brought into one scene, a history of many many years, of people being abducted and sold into slavery, having their bodies violated like that (I was shocked! At first I thought that they were going to mark him with a metal bar. The scene with the pond was so shocking)and many more gruesome and truly unbearable to think about things... It was truly heart-warming seeing their relationship through this opening of his soul.
And the fact that their relationship counts decades basically and that it's one truly unique and precious one, made it even more powerful... When Hurrem told him that he was free from his position in the palace, this was so touching. The message, the way she conveded it and how sweet she was during all this exchange of word was so touching to watch. She may had gone through a lot, fought like a beast, saw enemies and people who wished her harm, but Sumbul was her anchor🥺❤️Their sweet relationship never changed. Besties for life. Family.
Both artists gave a phenomenal acting on their part. I admire them

Some of the servants they had were amazing people. If anything it seems like they learned to appreciate and respect each other. Of course you need to “act” like a slave when in public but behind closed doors they were very close. If anything i feel like they grew a bong. He was always with her even until old age. Its very normal to grow attached even if they are a “slave”. I think its a beautiful thing to see. Im sure not everybody was able to get the same honor though. Which is sad. But then again it seemed like the slaves who were kind hearted the masters where able to see that. Even if they did scheme it was for there masters benefit.
