Denzel's highly-acclaimed third album TA13OO was released in three acts. 2018, probably the best year of my life. I was a heroin addict in the 90s... life in tatters. Got out of prison 2003. By 2018 I finally had my dream car, with my dream sound system, a beautiful summer, no job and plenty of money. I'd lost all the weight I put on getting clean, and felt amazing. This track got regular play on late night drives, it's such a fucking vibe.
Safe to say things have gone downhill a bit since then... Car is in storage and I'm working like a dog. There's always next year, right?

I empathize with this on a personal level, and this song brought up memories for me I did not know I had. This long has really been essential in the transformation of me as a person. It has been so long since I had these epiphanies, so I came back to this song to listen to it again. And again, I have learned something new about the depth of the Hidden Darkness that we take on when we are trying to deal with this situation describes. And sometimes dealing with it worsens the experience, and you're not even conscious of it. Especially in a relationship when neither person really knows how to deal with it in a healing way and not in a cycle of comfort that keeps you in the box of not really going through the pain of dealing with it.
I just love this so much, it speaks to my soul.
