I started playing 5 years ago and the biggest thing about siege when starting out is to not worry about kills. Learn the ops, watch what teammates do for site set up and also WATCH HOW YOU DIE, that is huge because one you can see what you did wrong and also that person is more than likely better than you and you can start to learn what angles to hold and where to look next time. Thank you for mentioning the fact that you should always have your gun up and you should also try to sprint minimally and only when it’s necessary or you know it’s safe. Another great tip is to play support ops, that way you can always provide something to each round especially on attack, on defense try to anchor but during set up work around the map to start learning the names for call outs and also learn how the map flows and what routes to watch for which in turn can help you later on with attacking.
-Keep your crosshairs up! With a 1-shot-headshot mechanic your crosshairs should always be head level to have a better shot at winning gunfights -Learn to be comfortable with a pool of operators and not just 1 or 2. Always see people get mad when the op they like to play gets banned or picked and just have no idea what else to do. Also have had teammates not play an op we needed because they "don't like the gun" or "have never played them before". Learning a pool of operators keeps you versatile and will make you better.
If you find yourself in a 1v5 situation on attack play back and wait for them to see if they get cocky and jump out and always try to single 1v1s instead fighting everyone
Secret tip for coastline, when playing defender you wanna go in the bush by north stairs and stay by watching the cam that’s right on you giving you a free kill .
