Absolutely...realizing what a dumb ass kid you were. Realizing how insecure you were. Realizing how lucky you were to not get killed or maimed numerous times. Realizing that you should have loved people so much more😂😂😂
Amen brother. I remember being in my 20’s without a care in the world thinking 50 was a lifetime away. Now in my 50’s I wish I could go back and do so many things different
Definitely never thought I'd reach 30 for how I was living. But I'm 34 now sober and understanding I don't need to be out to have a good time. Nothing but trouble came from thinking like that
Before the motorcycle accident Frank Mir was an unstoppable beast but after the accident he was never the same and his career proves it! And I'm a mir fan 👍 He still deserve the Hall of Fame
To be fair to Frank, the level of fighters he was fighting before his accident weren't anywhere close to the caliber fighters he was fighting later on in his career either. I doubt there's a single fighter that Frank fought after his accident that wouldn't utterly destroy all of the fighters Frank fought before his accident. They were better overall fighters and the sport had matured significantly as his career progressed.
@Danlovestrivium c&s how I've been watching the sport from day one and I remember his debut fight I can agree with that! But nonetheless he was still the greatest heavyweight BJJ fighter because no other heavyweight used BJJ the way Frank did the guy was next level
I’ve always felt that his accident really affected mobility in his knees and hips which is why he seemed to take more damage and have more trouble defending strikes in his guard later in his career. I think it’s why he also started focusing his striking almost entirely on boxing/counter punching later on. Still, it was so crazy to watch a guy Frank’s size defy every stereotype of how a big natural is supposed to fight. Boxing heavy grappler who was an even bigger submission threat on his back than he was on top. Had a big variety of submissions that you didn’t see often back then and would just patiently transition from hold to hold until he found the right opening. Even as a young guy he was always super composed and deliberate with every move.
@impulse_xs I've always told people that accident changed everything and then he came back way to early which made things worse! Frank was always one of the best BJJ heavyweights ever he just sadly never gets his credit for his ground game and smooth movement that heavyweights still till this day cannot do!
Always felt bad for Mir that he crashed his motorcycle, lost his belt, and lost all of that time. Cool he fought through it and came back and won the interim title though.
@@Oldmanrufus46 it's a rough business and mirr problely should have stayed away from motorcycles while competing at least same for Jon jones.jon should have a 24 7 driver..he is a bad driver.
Frank has done the most damage when it comes to submissions in MMA history.he is nasty..breaking bones. Taking limbs home with him.the ending of the nogaira fight was hard to watch man..
Tim Silvia's arm as well.i would love to have frank mir as my bbj instructor.i would never roll with these guys.he would snap my limbs off by accident.
Frank deliberately broke his opponent’s bones like Tim Silvia, Big Nog, Tank Abbot, Pete Williams, Etc Stop the BS Frankie we know what your intentions were 🤨
I do love listening To Frank, I enjoyed his career, but lets be real, he was never beaten by technique, he couldnt take a punch and he would mentally wilt....That cant be tought
@@DoctorLogic-gt1quHe did have some nice moments standing up. He is the first guy to knock out nogueira, he knocked out cro cop and dropped Kongo, both of which were better strikers than he is. He was pretty slow though, even more so when he moved up into the 260s range and had all this wear and tear on him.
@@tonypaella Exactly. He had great fundamentals but lacked the overall speed and athleticism to execute his stand-up game like some of the top HW strikers. As he got older his "chin" was very weak as well due to some of the severe beatings that he suffered especially the Lesnar and Carwin beatings, those were vicious....lol
@@DoctorLogic-gt1qu yeah those were nasty. Also I kind of have the feeling he fell in love with his power. In the early days he'd even pull guard and stuff like that. Later on he went away from his pretty scary ground game. He had some great knockouts like the duffy one, but got knocked out along the way too often
Imagine winning a fight by twisting a finger. Real manly stuff there. Prior to the ufc and Gracies you’d never brag about winning a fight by a small joint manipulation. But we’re an effeminate society now. Even the TOUGH guys think it bold and brave to roll around on the ground, legs entwined… looking for that opening to use their body to exploit that opening. It’s fruity, Will always be so…. And it doesn’t matter if throngs of guys and gals with cauliflower ear claim otherwise.
How many s fights have you been in.?I take a wild guess. 0.go watch his highlights.you tend to lose your chin at this stage of life if you fight for a living.happens to every fighter ever.
Mir was a stud when he was in shape and focused
A natural part of aging is realizing how much of your youth you took for granted.
Amen to that

That Pete Williams submission by Frank might be the sickest ever

That weird modified keylock he submitted Williams with is one of the most vicious subs I’ve ever seen
Frank mir is a beast my favorite heavyweight alone with Fedor and overeem
Great breakdown of Brock
Frank has always been my favorite heavyweight
Best HW jiujitsu practioner in UFC history. I always hated he didn't wrestle more tho
It wasn't a "Toe Hold"...because Small Joint Manipulation is an illegal move.
Frank always has been tha goat
Aren’t small joint licks illegal in the UFC?
Exactly it was his ankle not his toe
I clearly felt a tap.
Frank versus Steven Seagal. Both clearly superior.
