Great point! Of course this video focuses on the 3rd movement of symphonies as Minuets, starting with the standardization that Mozart and Haydn helped usher in. I even say, "what we think of as a minuet TODAY is...." But there is a LONG history of nearly all forms that goes way back into various influences. The minuet actually proceeds the gallant style as well, technically. Sounds like you're enjoying digging into history of forms--there's a lot to discover there. Enjoy!
