Shedeur gotta start working the middle of the field. Defense see that he likes working the edges. Passes deep, sidelines or behind the line of scrimmage wr screens. Utah had the entire playbook. Everyone knows what type pass coming. 2 rarely passes in the middle or to a tight end. Linebackers either watch for a run (rarely) or blitz. No need to worry about coverage of TE or rb.
They threw down the middle the first play of the game and Utah Intercepted it! First off, That right there says to me IF they truly had the playback, they were well aware he throws down the middle. Secondly, we rarely use our TE because our starting TE got hurt and what would've been our second string left before the start after knowing he was not going to be first string and they don't use TEs like Utah did late because they don't have that same level of personnel at TE. Smalls was converted to play TE abd even he caught one down the middle but is mainly used to block. Third, they thought they could expose Utah like they did Texas Tech with those Tunnel screens so they tried that more than they probably should. But that's not Shedeur's fault, it's the game plan/play calling. If you truly evaluated Shedeur, you'd quickly see he can and will pass ANYWHERE on the field but so happens to increase in accuracy the deeper the ball so they try more go routes down the sides than most because it's a strength of his to especially with the receivers CU has! Both Jimmy Horn & LaJohntay Wester have caught plenty of balls in the middle of the field thru crossing routes and more. Plus they were trying to use Drelon Miller like he is used best, similar to a Deebo Samuel so you often see those quick throws to the sides or flips in the middle to him like an extension of the running game! Lastly, when your QB is THE BEST in college football and has the weapons he has, you're USUALLY going to pass more than you run. Instead of run to setup the pass because Shedeur's knowledge and ability to read the defense is probably his best trait which should say a lot considering he can do it all, even run although he's not a speedster eventhough he is sneaky quick. So you're either not a true Buffs fan who's watched enough of his games if not all of them or you're not a fan at all and caught this one game and think you know the extent of his skills, tendencies and his abilities on the field. Or you just well, don't really know ball well enough to understand why they limited or were limited to more of the throws you saw for that Utah game itself. He had a terrible game by his standards and still threw for nearly 350 plus 3 TDs and that one pick(down the middle) in which he's going to be in his words "throwing a thousand climb routes to make sure he doesn't make that mistake again" with the ball that he did to start the game! Utah had the best Defense Colorado has seen outside of facing themselves in practice and still put 42 on them offensively! 😂 And if you truly knew Shedeur like you think you do or Utah did, you'd understand his percentages against the blitz! He's actually an incredible QB vs a blitz! Look it up and do your homework before dawg'n the guy OR the team. Or just keep on thinking you know best! Smh...
