Please do no mind, but i would like everyone to soak the cocopeat block for few hours and after it has disintegrated, wash it well with water a couple of times to wash away the salts in it. Cocopeat is prepared out of the outer covering of coconut, which is soaked in back water of Kerala ( which is salty) when the thick layer disintegrates, it is dried in sun the some fibres are used for mattresses and ropes and smaller bits (which were earlier going as waste) is pressed into blocks of various weights and sizes. The best cocopeat blocks are ones which are prepared from powdery cocopeat.
