+Eurrikke Edward only if you want. I find myself enjoying A LOT the trading, node and profession mechanics. And it comes from someone who hates professions and farming in WoW.
I meant to say that I've been enjoying fishing trading and crafting to the point that its all I've been doing. And I find it funny since this game was advertised to be "THE action combat mmorpg" but I've been doing everything but that.
+Eurrikke Edward Well... It was advertised for the most appealing factor = great combat, action and so on. You don't advertise by telling people... Oh hey, you can fish in this game. More people like action than doing most of the sandbox stuff.
Dude first of all you called glass on the leash to a theme park our mama I’m pretty sure and it’s open world as soon as you get done with the starting area you can go from one end to the other with no loading screens in fact it’s mostly ride my whole mouth around rather than Uber‘s travel points just so I don’t have to use C loading screens as I’m going from one side of the map to the other and then it’s just faster to use a fast travel point
As far as the west not being paid and when I do in fact agree with you I think you can play the game without paying but I am in the minority there is absolutely no town people you can question that would determine that black desert wasn’t paid a whim in the west it is definitely worth a call OK to win game every aspect of it drives you to need to spend money in the store in order to be better at the game borrow her they doing things like to keep handing you a little taste here and there like a drug dealer I’ll convenience items that make Amy easier than trying to encourage you to purchase and I feel certain Once you start purchasing the system mysteriously start handing you things because you’re spending money. Black desert is most definitely want the industry calls pay to win
Yeah I love the fishing I wish the fishing in now bless work the same way but you have to actively cast I love you I will just pile a bunch of fishing rods on my character and stand on there overnight and come back and have a full backpack of fish and whatever they were called Mike 13 items or whatever that AFK aspect is pretty cool
Oh that’s another thing bless does better the AFK part Anna cancel black desert as soon as your controller disconnects it starts idling you out and tries to log you up so you have to leave your controller transmitting all night long with a rubber band or something in order to keep you from logging off and blast you can leave yourself locked in the controller disconnects and you still just stay there Idlelea which does hair are used whole bunch and then I won’t mention here because it’s probably considered an exploit
I started the game set out to be the best adventurer ever and get to level 50 in 15 hours. An hour later im fishing in Velia.. 2 days have passed since ive been playing the game and now i got an army of workers, skilled fisherman and im still level 18. I regret nothing 11/10 -IGN
+MisakaMikotoLuv I had the same idea. The plan was to get to level 50 in 15 hours. But I get fuzzy with how my chars look, different classes and riding my horse everywhere. I'm level 21 now but still running about site seeing
For those of you people that wanna try the game before buying there's a Guest Pass Megathread either on the Black Desert Reddit or the Black Desert forums, thousands of us got guest passes to hand out so it shouldn't be too hard to pick one up :) - If you're unsure on if you'll like the game or if your computer will run it I'd highly suggest doing this first before buying the game.
+Mike Barfield This one for world pvp, blade and soul is either arena or getting ganked by max level guys. And even on max level the world pvp doesn't really feel that good in blade and soul.
+Silverwing Ohh yeah, you may devote unhealthy amounts of time to the game, but it's totally worth it in my opinion. There is so much to do and explore, it has its flaws of course, but the future for this game looks very bright.
I just purchased BDO on Steam Summer Sale after never really having luck getting into any other MMOs but thought I would give this a shot because of the discount. I'm so glad I did!! There's so much still that I don't understand because all the systems are so extensive but your videos have really been helping! Top notch! Thanks for the content!
I think i am on the same server as you as i see the Leviathan guild pop up alot, really loving the game. The fact there is so much to put your time towards other than just grinding and lvling up makes this game look like it is going to have a long lifespan for me! Also seeing what the korean version has and knowing what some of our future updates will be is great aswell as we know it should be relatively polished content with plenty to do!
I learned a lot from this video. Thanks. #51 If you're looking for Knowledge, talk to NPCs that don't have names. Sometimes random soldiers and villagers will have Knowledge. For example, click on the drunk patrons in the Velia inn. You can also find objects in the world like statues that will add to your Knowledge pool. The statue over the entrance to the Velia ossuary is one example. #52 There are objects in the world you can loot like treasure chests, jars, herb sacks, crates, etc. You'll only realize they're lootable if you stand near them and see the Gather UI.
Got a guestpass yesterday from a friend and I'm already sold. I mean, it's easy to find 50 bad things, but there's definitely more than 50 good things to make up for it. Thanks for a great video Peon.
I think I'll end up enjoying BDO for far longer than Tera, Skyforge, or even SWTOR because it's a Sandbox and not a Theme Park MMO. With Theme Park MMOs I get burned out. I burn out on the story, burn out on the grinding, burn out on the gameplay, mainly because none of them continue to be interesting after a while (Especially the storylines, because once they're done they're done). Black Desert looks like I can make the most of it by making my own way, building my family and guild up to great heights, and making our own stories. Heck, I'd even go so far as to start keeping an in-character journal outside the game for my Main and maybe a couple alts, just to get into the swing of writing creatively. How I finally managed to forge an exquisite sword, tame or breed a wonderful horse, etc., not just how many enemies fell beneath my heel.
+Feral Kuja Yah i feel , Everyone kept telling me to play Tera when i was searching for and Mmorpg , Honestly has a great combat system thats really fun but the restriction is just uuuuhh
I am actually quite impressed by this review. After watching your gw2 initial review I honestly was expecting something similar in this video but all I have to say is BRAVO! Keep doing reviews like this.
Please make more content to Black Desert Online. I would also wish you make an timely setted information video about new things in BDS. Things you liked and things you don't like. I love this game and i like watching you playing it.
I had not heard of this game until you did your grind to level 50, and after your video I immediately bought the game! haha I have no idea how you leveled to quickly I've been playing since Thursday and I'm only level 34.. I'd love to see more content from this game :D
+Mason Well if you are getting distracted by quests then you end up leveling really slowly. It really depends on the player. People who level up to 50 and above just grind mobs on optimal spots. I heard that getting to 50 is easily doable in about 20 hours if you grind the right spots. There are several leveling guides that help you find a good place to gather exp on your current level. There is no need to rush though since you'll have to set up your own economy anyways so I picked a route of not rushing to soft level cap but rather exploring the world and doing crafting quests to improve everything on my character.
You failed to mention how gear dependent pvp is. I think this is extremely important to talk about because alot of people who are looking at this game will base their descision on how balanced PvP is going to be late game. Currently you need to spend ridiculous amounts of time grinding to afford the high end enchants on KR and RU, and because of the RNG system, the disparity between the haves and have nots will be game breaking. The "End game" is GvG content, via sieges and node wars, but the gear gap between "hardcore" and "casuals" is so great that people are being one shot.. Its bad enough that someone with +17 gear can take on a group of +15 without much issue. It's very broken, and Duam have yet to comment on how they intend to fix it here in the west. If they don't the game will suffer greatly as soon as a few people manage to get the top end enchants and start facerolling entire groups of players. The bar to entry for new players MUST be reasonable. Most people wont stick with the game if they have to grind boring "content" for months just to catch up to be competitive.
+roargathor Also found it strange that there was no mention of current balance in end-game since it is centered around PvP mostly, sounds terrible that a player can take on a group of ppl due to 2 more enchant lvls X_x
In Korea, the cash shop is pay to win, basically people can buy outfits with real money and sell them on the trader for ingame silver, which they can then turn around and buy the best items in the game through the enchant system. The RNG in the enchant system can become VERY expensive, and people who get ingame money faster will have better items before anyone else. So, by that model, huge item disparity works.. (in theory, but the actual numbers are apparently not so great for KR and RU). Because anyone who wants to be powerful can be if they put in the time or money. In the west, the cash shop does not allow people to do this, so everyone needs to grind it out on their own. That's fine, but only a minority of players will have the best gear in the game at first, when it takes months for every normal player to catch up. In the mean time they are getting one shot and destroyed in PvP, regardless of how well they know how to play their class and use the "action combat system". The numbers on your gear determine who wins or loses, regardless of skill, especially at the +16-+20 enchant tiers... Currently +15 is the cap here, but even that is a daunting task for most players. The game is not designed with balance or competitiveness in mind. They want players to feel like they are advancing their characters, and becoming more powerful by putting time into the grind, but they hope that keeping PvP isolated to Seiges and GvG that overall numbers and will hide the disparity between the haves and have nots. The problem is that top end players will be able to take on groups of "plebs" or "Filty casuals".. It will ruin the game for the majority of players, and the servers will be very sparsely populated in a matter of months.
Started a while ago, as a Warrior... Got bored. Started again a few months later as a Musa, played that to Lvl 50, and stopped for a few months. Started following your videos of jumping back in as a Striker that I'd made after I hit 50 with Musa just for giggles... Been playing for a few weeks now because I got a new job and I've been on a normal schedule, so I can play games instead of hating my life. Playing causally, learning the game, and learning how to Combo with the Striker has been rewarding and relaxing, and taking your advice, buying decent gear to start, and coasting on that has made me worry less about money and fail stacks as I've been leveling. At some point, I think P2P Trading might be nice, even if it does discourage a Black Market for Gold. However, right now, the game feels fun, fresh, and challenging. It basically feels like a Fantasy Version of Second Life, which I don't think is a terrible thing. It's a game where you can log in, and kinda go on an adventure. You can get caught in the rat-race though if you so desire, but you don't have to? It's such an open-ended game, it's kinda nice to just, do whatever you want... Quest, kill mobs, PvP, whatever floats your boat. Unless you're looking for the Theme Park Experience. I kinda hope the localization for the western version gets better, but the game looks great, and there's a lot of voice acting, so I'm alright. Overall, as of September 2nd, 2017, I'm happy just playing casually, because of the amount to do and explore. The scale of this game, really is huge, and the combat is interesting. It's kinda funny how, in my opinion, it's more of a fighting game than For Honor is.
Its a refreshing experience. I wish it was MORE 'westernized" though in the form of its NPC dialogue. A lot of the text dialogue just makes 0 sense when reading it.
FINALLY. You're the only one who actually got that the bdo character creation is limiting *so that the character you make still fits within the lore.* People were fucking complaining they couldn't make a wizard that was younger looking htan 50 and the suddenly writing off bdo character creation as "bad". well that was done on purpose because the devs believed that to fit in the lore your wizard had to be older than 50. It was a purposeful decision by the devs and it's their fucking story and world.
+Xaqq DeRipper sorry for this stupid question but where can I actually find the lore I just know the stuff from some of the cutscenes and the black spirit quests.
Dirk Lalleman the lore of the world will kick in during the level 30ish area. The devs went out of their way to not make too much of a story so you'll concentrate on exploring the world in detail rather than treat it like a book and try to level up to get to the next chapter like most other MMOs do. If you noticed this is probably the only mmorpg you'd do better zoomed in while playing to observe the world detail rather than zoom all the way out tlike most shitty textured MMOs. Take your time and explore and do wat you want in the game. Make your own story with your character, it's 100% possible in BDO. *but don't worry if you're really into a clearer understanding of the story it'll come in during th elater patches with the class awakening system*
+Xaqq DeRipper Lore or not. it limits the immersion of players like myself that are not in the age range. As a female player, it's a fairly small range so can't see why people shouldn't down vote it
did you know you can make people very happy and make this world a better place ? you are the best RUclips that has ever existed. thank you for being the way you are 😉😊😊😊😊☺☺☺☺
This is so profesional / Peon, been a subed for thhe last 5months or so, I noticed how your knowladge increased in overal game worlds / trends etc... keep it up Man
How fucking awesome would it be if BDO took the concept of the amount of Dragons in Dragon's Prophet but keeped their own taming system and dragon models!
+Saharky jr. Yes. But players aren't likely to gank the levels out of you as killing players rewards negative karma. Too much negative karma and you can't do shit with the npcs but attacking.
+iliden strmrege Can you lose xp by being killed by mobs/bosses? I think LazyPeon said in his last video that you really don't want to die because it takes a long time to get that xp back. That really turns me to this game. Because in all other mmos that I have played, in endgame (whether it be pve or pvp) you die pretty often.
+ApavTech afaik you don't lose xp when getting killed by a boss you just summoned. I died pretty often on that one imp boss while questing with my sorceress, didn't see an XP loss from that thing once. But you indeed lose XP when you get killed by normal mobs (which respawn just WAY TOO FUCKING FAST sometimes). At level 20-ish the XP loss isn't something to bother with, it may be just a few seconds of grinding wasted
Love your descriptions of BD. This is the first game since EQ1 that I am excited about playing something enough I'm going to dump my old laptop and get something capable of running it. Till then, I enjoy the game via you et all.
+TheLazyPeon L2 was good up to the Goddess of Destruction patch. Afteer it, it went from bad to worse. Now on the latest patch Infinite Odyssey there is no actuall lvl cap (well you can't get up to a lvl cause after a while mobs won't give you any xp so there is an invisible cap). If you was try the Classic, it's what l2 was and most of us wanted it to be up till now. Oh well games change and we have to adapt.
+FiR3Dr4g0n My thoughts too. L2 is such an old game now and this seems like a natural successor. I hope so as I used to love L2 at the start and I'm going to give BDO a go.
A really good round up and nice video. I am totally fan boyed out by BD, I absolutely love it, it's just the mmo I have been waiting for. I have never played a mmo where I have been so little concerned with getting to end level because I am so busy exploring the other game mechanics like gathering, nodes, workers etc. I think everyone should watch a video like this if they are considering playing, as you said it is so different from games like WOW. Coming into this game expecting it be a theme park may leave the player confused and negative toward the game.
+TheLazyPeon And it was annoying for me because I came home from work finishing off friday, play for 2 hours and then servers went down for 5 haha, i just slept for the 5 hours now back on. I live in Australia btw
Great job peon, you summed it all up and this is probably one of the best overviews of this game here on youtube! I'll be spreading this and showing it to my friends to simply explain them BDO, since I'm not able to, cause its too fuckin huge xd Keep it up m8 and dont let those haters onto you!
I have a warrior and i'm loving the game so far plenty to do while leveling and keeping me interested not at max lvl yet but can't wait hope there is still lots to do and that they bring out interesting new things in the future and keep the game going.
+Daniel Hopkins careful, if you say that anywhere else the fanboys/fangirls will harrass you to no end. Many players that bought into the game can't see that BDO is not a sandbox like EVE online.
+Hmmm Interesting I'm not a fanboy but I guess you could do what you want if you like to have 0 locked spells and small inventory. It is true that if you want to have the "experience" that the devs want you to have, you will have to do all the same quests to open inventory and spells on every alt. Biggest difference between eve and bdo would be that you can't be a pirate and focus on stealing from traders :D .
***** yes you can... there's a cluster of islands in the north-east part of the map in BDO that are considered to be "pirate islands." Usually people with high karma can go there. You can literally gank players that are doing trade routes and steal their goods.
+TheProlim12345 Sure - but are a lot of new players? The game seems to do things willfully oddly. An example would be questing. Go, click on the quest giver then essentially back out of the quest dialogue as you're presented with three buttons after reading it (instead of a simple yes or no acceptance). You've got a lot of players coming from other games who are used to certain conventions. Changing them (unless there's a very good reason) just becomes offputting. A more general example would be a windows program that decided to make right clicking not open a menu (like almost every other app in existence) but instead activate something weird. After a few failed attempts to get that menu up, your instinctive reaction is going to be to retreat to the familiar.
Should do more videos on BDO would be amazeballz or do a lets play kind of thing and guide. i was checking your channel last for days for BDO vids since your video to level cap. but sadly you didnt have any :( keep the the good work though, your reaction to things are awesome haha.
back to a private wow vanilla server. this game is good if you like pvp, pve content is horrible in terms of mobs not fighting back, they are just there for the grind. story and voice acting is horrible and thats kills the atmosphere.
***** i can't relate to a korean grinder with brain afk leveling like wow is nowadays. thats why i play vanilla wow, because its challenging. black desert sure has a lot to offer, just not in terms of challenging pve leveling. btw, hater and fanboy are hollow words with no meaning. maybe some day you will understand that when you are old enough.
***** i played BDO because of the hype. with pve i meant mobs that are actually challenge you. i was never below 80% with my hit points. I guess that many people enjoy the other aspects of the game, but for me thats not the type of MMO I enjoy. Only recent game that added challenging PVE mobs was Wildstar. I guess I am old school and challenge during leveling is not needed or wanted nowadays.
+ZuberiGaming I fully agree with you. The PvE is awful. I was never close to dying, and the mobs were braindead. Then again, one of my favourite games is Dark Souls, so maybe dodging comes naturally to me. Anyway, and this game is heavily gear based, no skilled required, which is nothing for me.
***** Why are you making me sounds like a "noob" by pointing out that I was never close to dying? Do you not know how logic works? I am stating my opinions, this game is not for me. I am talking about my taste, does that bother you or something? If it does, then you are a hypocrite for speaking out about it, since you'd be doing the same thing I do about a game, but you do it about my opinion.
***** Fair enough, that is true, but at the same time, I got bored way too soon to be able to reach 40. A game is about having fun. I don't know about Dark Souls 3, I can play it when I buy it. But considering how much of a fan I am of the developers, I will most likely love it. Different tastes.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one face palming when people compare BDO to WoW. It's much more comparable to Eve, so glad you said that. I'm playing on the NA servers and thoroughly enjoying the player housing and mini games... The RNG not so much. How are you enjoying Sorc in PVP? I play Sorc but get shredded by Witches/Wizards and the Tamers wolf.
iAmKrome It's really good so much shit to do played for hours and only level 20 because I can't focus on just leveling there is so much progress my character can do I want to do it all. Seriously it's worth the 30 bucks hands down best mmo I've played in a long time. Story maybe a little lack luster but if you want a game where you can do whatever you want but regardless of your choice you'll be rewarded for it. .. this is the game for you.
I got to level 18 playing a tamer the combat is heaps good and there is so many different abilities and such I like the horses but of course the quests and leveling is a little grindy but I find it fun cause I enjoy the combat. ( sorry this isn't a very structured paragraph :p )
Been playing sooo much since launch but only been doing crafting, I'm only lvl 16 after like a week but crafting is amazing can't wait to see what the rest of this game has in store
Hey Lazy, loved your video, I've been playing this game since March 2nd, already got almost 3 full days of play time and I'm still at lvl 23, I spend most of my time just exploring and trading, and doing gathering quests. My immersion OCD is finaly at ease and I can see myself playing this for a long time and leave WoW at least until Legion comes out. Nontheless, this game is amazing; yes it's overwhelming and confusing to the players that come to the game with a "WoW mindset" but it's a good thing. Some people say this feels like what vanilla WoW felt back in the day, I can't talk about that since I only joined Azeroth at patch 5.4 but damn this game feels so good to play. Have I said already I love this game? Because I do.. There's just one thing that I find confusing about this game, it's the lore. I'm a lore junky, I devour anything that is WoW lore so I was expecting a similar thing in BSO but the "main questline" (if you can even call it that since there isnt' a real main questline) feels like us the players should already know what hapened before the game. A short cinematic after the character creation screen and I woke up in Olvia with a black spirit taunting me.. I'm currently questing in Glish and already did the awakening part of the questline there but I'm still confused, what is this black spirit? Who the F*** is Edan that keeps apearing over and over? At least the political conflit between Serendia and Calpheon is great (Heidel 'till I die!!!).
amazing! can't wait to see more dude, you keep me on suspense every day waiting to see what will be posted next! ;D anyways hope to see more flavor of the month and WOW Legion Alpha videos!!! love your videos and wish you luck in the craziness of having RUclips as a full time job, I tried on an another account and it wasn't to easy, then I made this one inspired by you to make a gaming one, specificly towards WOW!
My Classmate was Hyped along with me for BDO (Although I have my fair time with TERA to satisfy my MMO needs), BnS kind of turned me off because of the Hybrid action-targeted combat and the Gold Sellers that are said to still be going. Sadly BDO is blocked in Chile, which is my south american country. Shame on me, I didn´t have the specs either but I am sure this is a great game overall. The game really looks something breaking off of the status quo with the sandbox theme, which isn´t something I would play to start in the genre, but now that I am experienced enough, I think I would enjoy it. I think I will just cling to my favorite MMO and *one* of my favorite games of all time: TERA. I hope they lift the block for other countries like mine that can have various costumers. Glad you are enjoying yourself, Peon! I enjoy your videos because they are overall honest and well intended, even if in some of them you aren´t the most enlightened one in the MMOs you are speaking of because it is a first impressions.
Peon, after watching all of you Black Desert Online videos (Since the first one you had in Korean... Or maybe it was Russian) You have gotten me extremely hyped for it! I still want a review for each class though! That would be super helpful
I haven't picked up the game because I'm a DAOC fanboy and heard there's no RvR. But the node wars and guild war decs sound intriguing. I'm now on the fence. Great videos, I've watched a ton of them.
Tea, 10-20sec's in a microwave, sorted. I've been playing BDO since it hit Europe, nice video btw and I'm glad you said it's nothing like WoW, never played WoW myself but I have loads of mates that do and they refuse to move to BDO, they say it's too grind heavy. I keep telling them to try it and not play to finish the game but to play for the experience and at their own pace, but still they don't seem to be able to see past Wow.
Wish they had Oceanic servers because being an aussie I do feel some latency lag happening every now and then. Would be pretty annoying in PvP where having no lag is pretty important!
This game sets the Standard for new MMORPGs... Real Action combat, Stable engine with good graphics and having stuff to do apart from leveling. Almost no matter what i do, unless it's just sitting around on a bench, i improve my character from it. Even just running around! This game is amazing!
yoo dude i love you're channel i am subscribed when you had 80k subs i really enjoy watch to you're video's i am personaly a WoW player so i love that video's the most please keep doeing what you are doeing see ya! :)
Super Helpful Video man, Love it. Iv been looking at getting this for ages now. And if legion fails well this is the backup plan for that sweet MMORPG fix!
I haven't put much time into this game as of yet, but I can already tell I'm going to be grinding the hell out of it. Only level 18 so far, but I think I'm going to stop around the 20s and start spamming a profession. I'm really debating building boats, I just think it sounds cool and way different than most RPGs/MMO's I've played
I found this game to be quite good, I may have forgot about leveling and spent several days fishing and horse taming. The classes feel unique and the combat is fluid. You can theroreticly dodge every attack but it's difficult to do so and due to the leveling system not giving much if any stats it leads to a highly skill based pvp
I've waited impatiently for years, but sadly it appears BDO isn't for me. I think I need more theme park in my sandbox. Thanks for all your informative videos.
Love the video and love your youtube channel. I bought the game because I saw you play it and really enjoyed the gameplay. I'm pretty new to MMO specially one like BDO. Do you have tips for a beginner? Or do you plan on doing a video about it? Cause I'm pretty lost in the game. Thank you for the awesome and entertaining videos :D
+Ricardo Pimenta My tips would be to not rush :) if you follow the main black spirit quests you eventually get gear and blackstones, sub to this channel for the best BDO guides, this is how I learned ruclips.net/channel/UCYdoiAO7ax1p0ZbHovrY4Tg
Hope you'r going to make another impressions video on BDO now that you've played it quite a lot. I'm really interested in your "real final thought" so to speak :)
Real time action combat in real open world mmorpg 95% of time spent fishing trading and crafting.
10/10 best action combat mmorpg
IPAITH you guys are really looking into my comment a bit too much.
Or do you just want to be "right"? :P
@@EurrikkeEdward but actually they are right.
the best way I can describe BDO is, well let's just say I haven't been to school in a week...
That’s pathetic and sad dude do you have an addiction you should stop gaming altogether
+MisakaMikotoLuv XD
+MisakaMikotoLuv I had the same idea. The plan was to get to level 50 in 15 hours. But I get fuzzy with how my chars look, different classes and riding my horse everywhere. I'm level 21 now but still running about site seeing
Check out mah horzee, mah horze is amazingg...
give it a lick
Ouuu it's tastes like raisins
Ive never been so overwhelmed playing a game...
I feel the same way. There is just so much to do and it all takes so much time.
bdo is a good example of, being a member of the pc master race
THE MASTER RACE SHALL PREVAIL
indeed
Bow down to us!
+ItsKatty Hell yah.
+ItsKatty Console version is confirmed,nerd
For those of you people that wanna try the game before buying there's a Guest Pass Megathread either on the Black Desert Reddit or the Black Desert forums, thousands of us got guest passes to hand out so it shouldn't be too hard to pick one up :)
- If you're unsure on if you'll like the game or if your computer will run it I'd highly suggest doing this first before buying the game.
Thank you SOOO much for telling me this, I needed to know this.
+TheLazyPeon If you like to PvP competitively, would you choose this game, or Blade and Soul?
+Mike Barfield This one for world pvp, blade and soul is either arena or getting ganked by max level guys. And even on max level the world pvp doesn't really feel that good in blade and soul.
+Waristheonlyanswer I like arenas. Are the classes balanced in Black Desert?
+TheLazyPeon great vid helps me show why i like it so much to people who dont play
Started playing some days ago and I can't say it enough. BDO is amazing.
Thx for this video, job well done!
If you're going to buy and play this game, be prepared to have no life and practically become a hermit! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
+UnBearable Yep, it really consumes your life
+UnBearable wait, thats a good thing. i've waited for such a game for sooo long and I'm probably not the only one
+Silverwing Ohh yeah, you may devote unhealthy amounts of time to the game, but it's totally worth it in my opinion. There is so much to do and explore, it has its flaws of course, but the future for this game looks very bright.
Happened to me lol
Eyh, even MORE Black desert! Glad to see that you are enjoying the game, especially since i've begun to play it aswell. :3
Been playing BDO since is came out in the west and loving every second.....what is sun light..
50 hours in and loving it!
Dude, gonna install it right now and play so damn much, thanks a lot man :)
Guys, I started play this game like 1 week ago.
It is so immersive and amazing! If anyone don't know if buy or not... i suggest to instabuy it!
I swear Peon.. you just do the stuff that requires you to sift through the most possible amounts of gameplay footage. :) So much editing time
+Fevir I must be some kinda editing masochist :')
+TheLazyPeon And that is the reason we subscribe
Probably my favorite MMO in years.
By far one of THE most useful and comprehensive video on the different aspects of BDO. Thank you good sir for this upload!
+Xaqq DeRipper Yeah, tbh none of that stuff bothers me but many people refuse to play a game as soon as they hear the words "gender lock"
+Xaqq DeRipper I usually wind up making characters that fit into those limitations anyway so this doesn't bother me at all either.
As a female player, it's a fairly small range so can't see why people shouldn't down vote it
did you know you can make people very happy and make this world a better place ? you are the best RUclips that has ever existed. thank you for being the way you are 😉😊😊😊😊☺☺☺☺
youtuber*** :D
RIP Peon's cold tea...
BTW I chose Valkyrie as main (was almost Sorceress)
;D
This is so profesional / Peon, been a subed for thhe last 5months or so, I noticed how your knowladge increased in overal game worlds / trends etc...
keep it up Man
Love it, So immersed in the world.
You have me interested in this game man! I haven't played MMO games in awhile, but I may just try this one thanks to you! Keep the videos coming!
I have 60 hours played and still lvl 23 >.< So much to do i keep getting side tracked haha
love you peon, thanks for the videos , i look toward everyone of them , keep em coming and:
JUUUUUUUUUUUUUMPU
How fucking awesome would it be if BDO took the concept of the amount of Dragons in Dragon's Prophet but keeped their own taming system and dragon models!
+WhyShouldIEvenListenToYou heu heu heu
Great Video. im playing BDO flat out and loving it, you can spend 4 hours cooking and not see the time go by. very immersive, which is a good thing.
That's it; I'm buying it.
Is there a Peon guild, btw?
One hundred members per guild so I doubt he would let a noob in
+Floris Kunst Yeah but it's already full
Ooh well.
you're only youtuber I watch that just gets better and better :D everything goes to shit but you just improve ^_^ great video keep up the good work
great video, one question Do you also loose xp if a player kills you?
Yes
At level 20-ish the XP loss isn't something to bother with, it may be just a few seconds of grinding wasted
no you dont lose xp when being killed by a player
Love your descriptions of BD. This is the first game since EQ1 that I am excited about playing something enough I'm going to dump my old laptop and get something capable of running it. Till then, I enjoy the game via you et all.
#51: Some people are very pissed when you speak German or Dutch in the global chat.
+iliden strmrege I am one of these people haah
+MrLechop salt.
Nah it's just rude when majority speak english
MrLechop It's not really "rude" if you ask them to talk in a different chat, and they refuse, that would be rude. :P
But of course they don't speak in a different channel haha i had to leave alustin to get away from the germans jordine hardly has any :P
I bought the game the day after I saw your review about it. I love it so far it's the mmo I have been searching for quite some time now
too many similarities with lineage 2 and that's very good!!
+FiR3Dr4g0n I need to try Lineage 2, everyone says good things about that game
+TheLazyPeon L2 was good up to the Goddess of Destruction patch. Afteer it, it went from bad to worse. Now on the latest patch Infinite Odyssey there is no actuall lvl cap (well you can't get up to a lvl cause after a while mobs won't give you any xp so there is an invisible cap). If you was try the Classic, it's what l2 was and most of us wanted it to be up till now. Oh well games change and we have to adapt.
+Lelouch Lamperouge well said, the classic would be awesome to give it a shot, it combines the old chronicle with new gui
+FiR3Dr4g0n My thoughts too. L2 is such an old game now and this seems like a natural successor. I hope so as I used to love L2 at the start and I'm going to give BDO a go.
+TheLazyPeon It used to be a very good game. I played through my whole childhood.
BDO does remind me of it, I'm really excited for it.
+Anaru Riverward Glad you enjoyed it dude :)
Im watching this again because server maintenance :)
+SirFunnyFace I always feel lost when there's server maintenance
+TheLazyPeon yes it's not up yet -.-
+TheLazyPeon And it was annoying for me because I came home from work finishing off friday, play for 2 hours and then servers went down for 5 haha, i just slept for the 5 hours now back on. I live in Australia btw
+SirFunnyFace haha
Great job peon, you summed it all up and this is probably one of the best overviews of this game here on youtube! I'll be spreading this and showing it to my friends to simply explain them BDO, since I'm not able to, cause its too fuckin huge xd
Keep it up m8 and dont let those haters onto you!
+Silverwing Thanks man :)
this game is lacking leg armour and cosmetics... everyone just looks the same (gear wise)
+xRECONCILEDX I agree
U can sell the outfits on the AH hence u can buy it with ingame currency
good luck with that
the chance to get a costume from the market is under 1% xD
Im watching this because Black Desert is down for maintenance. nice video :)
I mean,I would be playing the fuck out of this...if Dark Souls 3 wasn't coming.
+Drake Kay AH FK IT,I'LL PLAY BOTH :D
+Drake Kay SAME! am playing warframe pvp and bloodborne pvp until the lords of cinder rise!
Drake Kay DS3 turned out to be a joke
ds3 was a slap in the face
I have a warrior and i'm loving the game so far plenty to do while leveling and keeping me interested not at max lvl yet but can't wait hope there is still lots to do and that they bring out interesting new things in the future and keep the game going.
Ugh, I had high hopes for this game, but there's a level system. Not a true sandbox. Still not going to find a game like UO...
+Daniel Hopkins careful, if you say that anywhere else the fanboys/fangirls will harrass you to no end. Many players that bought into the game can't see that BDO is not a sandbox like EVE online.
+Hmmm Interesting BDO isnt fully sandbox, but its definitely more sandbox then themepark ^^, unlike most mmos.
Lel o I can agree with that, however little sand is in that box now.
Awsome video! started playing bdo thanks to you and im loving it! keep it up!
Bought it yesterday. The UI... jesus god the UI is awful. I've never seen a game that seems to try and fight a new player so hard.
it's customisable
+TheProlim12345 Sure - but are a lot of new players?
The game seems to do things willfully oddly. An example would be questing. Go, click on the quest giver then essentially back out of the quest dialogue as you're presented with three buttons after reading it (instead of a simple yes or no acceptance).
You've got a lot of players coming from other games who are used to certain conventions. Changing them (unless there's a very good reason) just becomes offputting. A more general example would be a windows program that decided to make right clicking not open a menu (like almost every other app in existence) but instead activate something weird. After a few failed attempts to get that menu up, your instinctive reaction is going to be to retreat to the familiar.
git gud
Should do more videos on BDO would be amazeballz or do a lets play kind of thing and guide. i was checking your channel last for days for BDO vids since your video to level cap. but sadly you didnt have any :( keep the the good work though, your reaction to things are awesome haha.
WTF is going on @ 6:04 lmao
Best review I've watched in a LONG time.
back to a private wow vanilla server. this game is good if you like pvp, pve content is horrible in terms of mobs not fighting back, they are just there for the grind. story and voice acting is horrible and thats kills the atmosphere.
+ZuberiGaming
I fully agree with you. The PvE is awful. I was never close to dying, and the mobs were braindead. Then again, one of my favourite games is Dark Souls, so maybe dodging comes naturally to me.
Anyway, and this game is heavily gear based, no skilled required, which is nothing for me.
*****
Why are you making me sounds like a "noob" by pointing out that I was never close to dying? Do you not know how logic works?
I am stating my opinions, this game is not for me. I am talking about my taste, does that bother you or something? If it does, then you are a hypocrite for speaking out about it, since you'd be doing the same thing I do about a game, but you do it about my opinion.
*****
Fair enough, that is true, but at the same time, I got bored way too soon to be able to reach 40. A game is about having fun. I don't know about Dark Souls 3, I can play it when I buy it. But considering how much of a fan I am of the developers, I will most likely love it. Different tastes.
I have been loving the game. I have had no issues yet and I can't wait to progress more.
This literally looks like the PERFECT MMORGP!!! Want.So.Badly...!!!
Lifes too short to pretend you dont like bdo. :^)
+Vree Free You got that wrong
I've absolutely loved the game so far, I haven't been able to play it much but tomorrow I'm planning on playing quite a bit.
i juST BOUGHT IT AND WAITING FOR INSTALL SO HYPE TO PLAY FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
+AJmusicandstuff Liking it so far?
+AJmusicandstuff Seriously how is it ? want to buy it
iAmKrome It's really good so much shit to do played for hours and only level 20 because I can't focus on just leveling there is so much progress my character can do I want to do it all.
Thank you for making videos about this game I bought it after Watching you play and it was completely worth it!
Seriously don't buy this game it's ass stick with wow or hello kitty
+Jakob Stein hello kitty is great
because fuck opinions
+Jakob Stein Not buying because REGION LOCK _|_
***** opinions are by nature subjective so there is no right and wrong
Grimshetara and zero fucks where given
Thank you for this info! This will prepare me for BDO on Xbox... starts in a couple days. Im super excited! Even with this being an older vid.
+Vitor Oliveira What we need is a Black Desert version of Nobbel to clarify all this stuff :') I don't quite understand it either
TheLazyPeon
We sure do :D unfortunatly he's off the grid now that he's reading the World of Warcraft Chronicles
amazing! can't wait to see more dude, you keep me on suspense every day waiting to see what will be posted next! ;D
anyways hope to see more flavor of the month and WOW Legion Alpha videos!!! love your videos and wish you luck in the craziness of having RUclips as a full time job, I tried on an another account and it wasn't to easy, then I made this one inspired by you to make a gaming one, specificly towards WOW!
Dudee ,i press like eve before i watch the vidio loool , nice vidio as always bud.
What?
+King Derpy what ,what? clearly its english , not my problem that your an idiot who doesnt know english
+Jihadi John i dont give a shit about it , and what the fuck is wrong with you guys? either comment about the vidio's topic or shut up!!
+Mohamed Ahmed Guess someone is mad they didn't get on the boat to Europe...
+Mohamed Ahmed based
Peon, after watching all of you Black Desert Online videos (Since the first one you had in Korean... Or maybe it was Russian) You have gotten me extremely hyped for it! I still want a review for each class though! That would be super helpful
Awesome video! I'm still deciding if I'm going to buy it or not but this was really helpful.
i make myself a coffee.... continue the grind in Black Desert.... aaaand the Coffee is cold ! ... i know that feel bro ... xD
I just started again in PS4! And those facts are super helpful as reference :D
Wow you actually mentioned eso, an extremely underrated game. Thank you.
Wish they had Oceanic servers because being an aussie I do feel some latency lag happening every now and then. Would be pretty annoying in PvP where having no lag is pretty important!
+GMH383 Same with Guild Wars 2
You should do a fact series about games you like . Have a nice day.
I like your reference to Eve online, I was thinking the same thing.
damn I love your videos. keep it up!
Just bought the game and waiting fro it to download. This vid is getting me fucking hype, great video man.
This game sets the Standard for new MMORPGs... Real Action combat, Stable engine with good graphics and having stuff to do apart from leveling. Almost no matter what i do, unless it's just sitting around on a bench, i improve my character from it. Even just running around! This game is amazing!
I recently bought this game and instantly swapped from wow to black desert, i'm so hooked :p
yoo dude i love you're channel i am subscribed when you had 80k subs i really enjoy watch to you're video's i am personaly a WoW player so i love that video's the most please keep doeing what you are doeing see ya! :)
really cool :D
Now, do a video on Wizard 101
Super Helpful Video man, Love it. Iv been looking at getting this for ages now. And if legion fails well this is the backup plan for that sweet MMORPG fix!
+Random Encounters Don't worry I have no plans to till legion just to give it 1 last chance :)
Subscribed for the tea is cold bit. Spit my drink out laughing.
Hey Peon I hope you make more black desert content :)
You can theroreticly dodge every attack but it's difficult to do so and due to the leveling system not giving much if any stats it leads to a highly skill based pvp
cool facts!! thnks another great video👊 does it have an exploration system? like you go explore and find some treasures
+Javs explore the vast sea and find whales and fishes.
I've waited impatiently for years, but sadly it appears BDO isn't for me. I think I need more theme park in my sandbox. Thanks for all your informative videos.
I loved this, thanks this will help me so much!
Great video, please upload more BDO!
+TheLazyPeon Thank you very much. Keep up the good work :D
Hope you'r going to make another impressions video on BDO now that you've played it quite a lot.
I'm really interested in your "real final thought" so to speak :)
Make it happen! :)
YOO haha nice you play on the same server as me dude :D
