Thanks Buzz , what a great radio selection. Looking forward to seeing the Buzz winder again! Should of sent Dickel after the spider. 😁. You always amaze. Thanks again. Dean
Must have had an expired can of raid didn't look like it did much to the spider from the hole not until you gave it a direct shot. At least that radio has the original knobs and cabinet. Would never have believed you got that radio to work that fast. Good Job
Buzz, Fierce creatures, those spiders! You did good getting that Philco going again. I was able to find your radio in the Ron Ramirez Philco Radio book. It's a 1935 model 45L lowboy. In his rarity guide, it's listed as a "B", which means, "Somewhat difficult to find". Be sure to check for a Joernone $1.00 bill tucked in there somewhere. He may have been in there doing that repair back in the 1940's or 50's. :-) LOL It's always good to see a Buzz video series starting up. Regards, Tom
Crocodile Dundee said, "you call that a spider?" Here in the Pacific Northwest we have wolf spiders, and they can get pretty big, too. Also, spiders are very chemical-resistant in my experience. I doubt Raid would kill it, only make it drunk. Then the next generation bred would be completely immune! Subbed.
@@Buzz1151 - Everything in OZ tries to kill you, as I understand it. Look at Steve Irwin. I hear tell of spiders that lurk under the toilet seat and... well, nevermind what they might bite! Then again, in New Zealand they have no poisonous snakes. Wolf spiders aren't aggressive, but to hear one galloping across the floor or find one in the tub, man , I can hear my pulse in my ears! Star Wars Evil Empire and Godzilla soundtracks!! Double Score! That looks like one of those big-ass spiders we have up here in Cluck County!! We grow'em big out at our place. I leave them alone and they leave us alone...….most of the time.I remember those faux antique paint things from the 70's..yuck hated them! This looks like a good score Buzz! Look forward to more.
Buzz!!! What happened to the rest of this series on the 1934 Philco Model 45 Restore? I was re-watching this series and after this one ended, I went to select Part 2 and couldn't find it! Couldn't find anything else on this series!
this is gonna be a very nice series Buzz. I want to see how you strip that paint offa the cabinet. Looks like the dude recapped it with a decent japanese caps. Gosh! that's one HELL of a Spider!!!

Welcome back Buzz! I see you used the Shango method on this radio - plug it in, turn it on and hope for an exploding cap! Put that speaker in the other room while you are waving screwdrivers around. Looking forward to this series - best, Bill.
Buzz! You never told us that you got a shiny new Sperry DMM. I like it. Way better than my $11 fleaBay Vicci 97, which I like better than my Fluke. Gonna be a nice radio reborn here, boys....
Hi Buzz & thanks for the new project series! If I may ask, what would cause the field coil to heat up? I have a Model 71 that has the dual speakers, and one does heat up but plays fine. Is it a short? Its been reacpped and the other components were checked & appear ok. Peace!
Ya...where is Dickel or Peanut?...and is there going to be a service for the spider you killed (sorry, buried in raid),,, on the filter chock, what wattage range are you going to use.. I'm dealing with the same issue on my Sparton 400...like always doing a great job enjoy the videos
I hope that picture at the bottom of the letter was Brian Keith wearing a curly blonde wig. If I see a spider in the house I usually lay my hand in front of it and try to get it to crawl on, then I take it outside and let it go. That is, unless it's on the ceiling, then I pinch it to death in a Kleenex and toss it in the trash. It's a 45L for Lowboy. Buzz, Sorry to be late, my friend, it couldn't be helped. We were getting low on giga-bytes. Ok, butt-chewing time: Young man, never again let your viewers see you use a screwdriver to remove a radio knob. How amateurish. How newbie. How tacky. How unBuzzish! Oh, GACKT! Somebody went 'shabby chic' and white washed it. Looks like they used a greasy pork chop to paint it. What a travesty. There must have been 10 references to the chassis in the video, but not a single McWhorter "the...CHASS-ISS" sound effect. Come on, Buzz.

With some little bit repairs and some of the old Buzz touch,,, this should be quite the winner. Onward and upward as they say to the north.

May I ask you what a Spert is???
@@Buzz1151 LMAO A Spert is better than an expert :) Silly.
Get a steel box (1/2" thick) and pad lock that speaker in it until it's time to put it back ;)
haha

Here in Dalsbruk, Finland it means bad luck to kill a spider....
wifey made me do it...it was the spider or me...ha
You must have few spiders in Finland.
