There was a coach trip on the day I visited. 😊 It's a great destination all year round

Jolablokaflod is an Icelandic tradition where people have a new book and drink hot chocolate, on Christmas Eve.
My husband and I started doing something similar a couple of years ago, instead of spending Christmas Eve doing last
minute things, including hours of wrapping presents, which is what I used to do. It’s so nice to have everything done earlier and then to have that quiet, cosy Christmas Eve relaxing with our books and some favourite chocolates.

It sounds perfect. My friend is organising Jolablokaflod this year, and I can't wait. Her message came through just after I recorded this video. A book and chocolates on Christmas Eve sounds perfect, I've also found myslef faced with a mountain of presents to wrap whichbis never fun under time pressure.

Awesome video! During October, I was focusing on Halloween, as it's always overlooked by Christmas. What a greedy holiday! It starts in September, when all the mince pies arrive, up until the end of the year. Four months of Christmas! I might put up my decorations up soon. Excellent video and so enjoyable. Merry Christmas!

Thank you 😁 This year I saw my first Christmas advert in June, the dat after the summer solstice 😳 which was definitely far to early. Being in the UK where we have fireworks night on 5th November that feels like a good starting point, but this year i couldnt resit getting festive a few daya early.

Just right to get me in the mood for Crimbo. The original version of 'Christmas Wrapping' was by The Waitresses. I love to play it every year.

Bauble! Also, I enjoyed your video very much. Seeing all the different decorations you guys have over in the UK was so cool.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I have a few more similar videos planned. It's so exciting now the shops are all looking Christmassy. Is it the same where you are?

It is the same here! It's not too cold here but the shops are lightly decorated. The shops where you live look extra festive though!

This garden centre goes into 110% Christmas mode, I hoping to visit London before Christmas as central London also seems to turn into a Christmas movie at this time of year.

I'm nit sure how many there are of them but it is a local tourist destination especially near Christmas where coach companies organise day trips! Do you have a different branch if garden centres.

Bauble! Great minds think alike. My mum's just had a clear-out and dropped off a bag of Christmas decorations at our local charity shop too. We live near Wentworth Garden Centre in South Yorkshire and it's similar to yours. Has an ice rink and festive markets and all sorts going off at Christmas. Usually gets mobbed though so we always try and avoid the weekends whenever we can. My tree's an eclectic mix of vintage (my grandma's), Harry Potter and little build-a-bear teds for my daughter (she's 21 soon!), my UFOs, and ones we've picked up on our various trips. Bit mad but it works for us. I love advent calendars too and I started a new tradition last year of gifting my mum a bagful of 25 books wrapped up and numbered for each day, which she absolutely loves. Try to source as many as I can from charity shops or eBay to keep the cost down. She always sends me a pic of which one she's opened each day. Good fun. Love your videos, exactly what I need to help me unwind after a manic day at work. Thank you. 🎄

Oh wow an ice rink! Nearer to Christmas one of our local garden centres often has reindeer, although I'm not sure they were there last year.
Decorations that have a personal story are my favourites.
Your book advent idea! I think I'll have to keep an eye out while thrifting to get ahead for next year 😊
