    Lyrics❤
How, how can it be that a love
Carved out of caring, fashioned by fate
    Could suffer so hard
From the games played much too often?
But making mistakes is a part
    Of life's imperfections
    Born of the years
Is it so wrong to be human after all?
    Oh, drawn into the stream
    Of undefined illusion
    Those diamond dreams
    They can't disguise the truth
That there is something about you
    Baby, so right
    I wouldn't be without you
    Baby, tonight
If ever our love was concealed
No one can say that we didn't feel
    A million things
And a perfect dream of life
    Gone, fragile, but free
    We remain tender together
If not so in love, it's not so wrong
    We're only human after all
    Oh, these changing years
    They add to your confusion
    Oh, you need to hear
The time that told the truth
Because there's something about you, baby, so right (and now the way you are tonight)
I couldn't live without you, baby, tonight (I couldn't live without you)
And now there's something about you, yeah
And I couldn't live without you, tonight

I agree with the first part.
To the second part, I would say: 'The 1980s could be awesome. They could also be not so awesome'.
The difference between now and the 1980s for me is I felt like humanity was generally going in the right direction back then. I no longer feel that way.

LOVE this song! Born in 1967. It was awesome growing up then. The music was so positive...such optimism across the West. Little did we know everything we knew...our cultures and all that went with it, would be headed for destruction. Europe, the UK and the USA is hardly recognizable anymore. I sure miss it.

Yes the 80s were filled with amazing music. But what's even cooler is that while growing up then, we all knew it and reveled in it. These amazing songs permeated every part of our young lives and memories in those years. It's not like "we didn't realize how good we had it", in fact we did, we really did.

Gotta admit, I sort of slept on this song during the 80’s because I was too busy chasing rockers around, but now I understand why everyone loves this song.

This is that one song that is always in the back of your mind and seems to come out and grab your hand when you've fallen off the path a bit, always grateful when it comes around and is heard again.

I'd just turned 16 and had my first car when this song came on the radio... it was a big hit at the time! I can still see images of my past flickering with the music... wonderful memories!
80's were an era apart... everything was fun and fascinating!

I played this song constantly in 1986 - so much so that I went through 2 cassettes! I'm sure an ex-boyfriend of mine can't help but think of me when he hears this song on the radio because I drove him half crazy with it🤣. Tight band with a timeless song🥰.

1986 my forth year in the Marine Corp, stationed at Kaneohe Bay Marine Corp Air Station Oahu. Jamming out on my in dash Kenwood radio cd player. Installed in my Triumph TR6 1972. Rag top dual carburetors, dual exhaust four speed manual, inline six cylinder! That car was the car to have on the island. I had Kenwood Amp with two 6 by 9 speakers three way crossover. I had the car with the tunes. Worked on it at the Hobby Shop on base. Rebuilt the transmission, clutch, carburetor's, brakes. That was a fun car and picked some beautiful Hawaiian and Canadian women! The car is a two seater. Three is a crowd! All my marine buddies just shook their heads when I brought a fine looking chick on base!. This tune is one of the best!
