  • "Shouldn't it be when you're at your worst, they're at their worst, you have every reason to give up, and you still decide you want to try again."
This video, like one of my previous ones, starts out as a bit of a slow burn to get to the Tommy material - partially because of how I wanted to frame this video, and partially because there isn't THAT much material to work with (here's looking forward to season 8).
The general idea of this video is to frame this new change in Buck's life through the lens of coming back to "the world of the living," and the way that the overall events of season 7 for Buck really define that idea.
Despite literally everyone else going through absolute madness this season, Buck really had his chance to settle in, and the moments of distress he face - particularly around how he felt his date went with Tommy - were solved quickly and with maturity.
It's a complete rejection of Buck's previous bad habits in his relationships (as literally called out by Bobby in a season 5 episode where they were talking about Taylor) how Buck doesn't really talk to the people he's dating. While there wasn't space, or necessarily the need, to include that scene in this video, I did want to really focus on this idea of communication and how Buck no longer looks at the end of relationships as something that's inevitable. Instead, it's something worth working on.
I also think, more than anything, this is a video about healing. It's looking at this journey from Buck's recovery and return to reality following the lightning strike to a place where he is finally able to feel connected and rooted to the real world. That's why the bookend of Eddie's comment really exists there.
    I hope you enjoy!
(and as I'm obliged to say - leave a like or a comment if you enjoy it)

P.S. Sorry, no daddy issues clip in this one - really didn't fit the vibe lol.
