With Birmingham having a large Afro Caribbean community - especially from the Island of Jamaica, it was only natural that they brought their music to these shores. Sounds System are the centre of entertainment when it it come to dances and Birmingham had plenty of them. I know i missed a some out but Ill add them here in the future as i learn of more sounds

Please remember the great Danny King sound system from London...one of the first big sound systems from the mid 1970's that used smaller and effective bass bin speakers that are common these days...instead of the large( and dangerous!!) wardrobe size speakers and still sounded HEAVY...gave Zion Sound and Duke Alloy a fright at the Rainbow Suite in Birmingham...only £3.00 entrance fee!!!

Records no problem but disagreement got in the way then I walk out ,
I've could have continued me and my brothers but my brothers changed
To soul and funk.
So I gave up obr kept the choons, so the equipment ive kept.
I've look back now I've should have continued and played against other sound
Especially in Smethwick since I some soundman back then.
Stone Mafia would be a yout sound back then.

There was a sound called Metromedia from Aston they used to play at Newtown Community Centre nuff times too. Yabby Hi Fi another sound that springs to mind...they were some many back in the day. My favorites sounds you have mentioned tho' Jah Mafia, Quaker, Jungleman, Massigan, Bismark, Nyah, Leisure, Sir Christopher and Jah Youth
Yes Blaze me bredda - Metromedia - knew there would be more sounds from Bimingstrong! Never listened to them though, only Teacher at Newtown Community Centre. Yabby HiFi? I don't remember them and lot of the sounds in the vid I've never heard of either as you said. I did the video months ago but kept adding in new sound as people kept giving me new sound names but nothing new for over a month so it was time to upload it; but I know some more sound names are gonna turn up the comments.
There is also a sound that played the front room dances at Irish Centre I just remembered but cant remember the name of them lol
Bless Up bredrin.
The good thing about those days was UNITY...among black youth...in those days we would never harm each other ...unlike the youths now.....when you joined a sound system you learned 1. TEAMWORK...2. ELECTRONICS...3. GOEGRAPHY...4. CARPENRTY...4 SOCIAL SKILLS...5. MUSICAL KNOWLEDGE....youth sounds kept many of us out of trouble and gave us great timesamong young black youths...we all faced the same issues as the youths today..but things have changed...media control...nuff said.
Sounds you've missed is Duke City, Sufferer from Edgbaston, Sanatone from Smethwick,
There are so many sound tho. The list is being constantly updated: ruclips.net/video/My5KGMiibps/видео.html

It's called 'Kumoochin' by Lou Ricard
The bass is similar the original by Vivian Jackson - Conquering Lion
Duke City from Smethwick from way back.
Memories of good fun but I would love to have it all back again this country doesn't want to have reggae music acknowledged any more, it seems them shut every venue sound or club as fast as they can now. Why them so marga I want to know?
Pure truth you a tark sis. Thing is, when you go to Europe Reggae music is celebrated to the max.
Holland, France, Germany etc all have sound system dances.
Try and put on regular dances like that over here in the UK and see the fight you get.
