Thanks for making this video, dont get enough highlight of the good out here. I really wish we would care for our beautiful downtown more. It would be a shame to let it slip away further.

Thanks for watching - I really am impressed with the amount of old buildings that have been preserved in PA, adds to the overall vibe and downtown looks pretty cool. Cheers

The building with the green front at 4:55 used to be the Hudson Bay Raw Furs where my father worked back in the 70's. Thanks for sharing!

I really appreciate this video. I spent most of my life in PA and had come to take it for granted. I could only see the negative side of the city. You really did a great job of finding the positives. I haven't lived there for a while now, but this made me remember what I love about PA.

I appreciate it, thanks for watching - the city definitely has issues but I really do think it has some great features. I also enjoy sharing aspects of Saskatchewan that don't get as much press. I live in Alberta but I love Saskatchewan in general. Cheers

There is history regarding the brick factory that were used for many of those old buildings you showed. Great video.

Thanks for watching - yeah I really am impressed with how many old brick buildings have been preserved in PA, a lot more than cities that size usually have. Glad you got some value out of the video, cheers!

This is one of your best looks at a city---- because you took time to research its history in such detail. I liked the comments/nformation shared about the people you mentioned. I personally believe that to fully appreciate what we see now in a city or location we need to know where it came from and why. Have you revisited Edmonton to share its history? If so you would give me the link? Thanks. Yes I'm a proud Edmontonian. Cheers!

living here, theres nothing nice about this place, the crime is out of control, the homeless and drug problems are out of control, theft and robberies are an everyday thing here.

Shopping sucks unless Walmart is your thing. Tons of methheads and crime. Shoplifting, property crime, B&Es, assaults. No good restaurants just lots of fast food places.

Good video. Yes there are very nice old buildings there. Nice place to look at during the weekdays. (last time I was there it seemed that evenings and weekends had a lot of alcohol and drug activity with the natives near any casino or bar).

I was really impressed with how many historic buildings have been preserved throughout the city, I live in Edmonton and our city has been pretty bad for tearing down buildings like that. I think most people really enjoy those structures and they add to the vibe of the city. Cheers

I appreciate it, thanks for watching - yeah I could definitely include more historical details like that in some videos. It would almost be worth doing a separate video on some of these towns that covers the complete history. Cheers!

LOL at the 6:30 mark you talked about strange activity at Kinsmen Park. I had to laugh because of how as young teens we used to go there at night and sneak a few beers and maybe a joint and yes there was strange activity. But not the paranormal kind, just young kids doing stupid stuff. Thanks for the memories.
Great video. I am going to post it on Facebook for others who live in the Prince Albert aria to enjoy. Sometimes we need a visitor to show us what we miss every day.

Great video! I lived in the city for a year. I liked the museum, the Art gallery and the view of the river. The only thing I don’t like about the city is the crime. Downtown can be dangerous. The Diefenbaker house pretty interesting to visit I must say!

Thanks for watching - I find the city has quite an impressive amount of old historic buildings and I think it's a great feature of P.A. Downtown can certainly be rough, although the same can be said for a lot of cities across North America right now. Cheers mate

@ good point about downtowns and your right. When I lived in the city I took pictures of all the old buildings. PA has been smart about restoring them unlike other cities. Did you try the bison cafe? It’s not bad

I have lived in Prince Albert for my entire life. I love my city!
My city has a bad reputation. While I admit that we are rough around the edges, I’m hoping now that we have a new mayor and city Council, that things will begin to improve.
Prince Albert is not a large city, so it has many traits of small town living, but we have all the features, Both good and bad, of a larger center.
The small town mentality, makes the population play their cards close to their chest, yet we deal with problems like gangs and drug addictions. sometimes, we can come across as grouchy!
I really love and appreciate how within every aspect of the city and its culture, the First Nations people are represented nearly everywhere!
I live within Treaty six territory.

It's been proven that Prince Albert did not have the choice between a university or the penitentiary and chose the pen. Truly an urban legend that never seems to die.

    • @strangenorth
      @strangenorth  7 дней назад +3

Thanks for watching - I didn't say that PA chose the pen over the university. I said that PA was being considered for both and the university and the penitentiary, and that ultimately the decision was made by the government to build the school in Saskatoon. I'm sure the city would have loved having the provincial university in the city! Cheers
