- The New Zuari Bridge, an engineering marvel over Goa's Zuari River, exemplifies advanced infrastructure development, enhancing connectivity between North Goa and South Goa. This 640-meter-long cable-stayed bridge, the second-longest in India, features a 27-meter width with 8 lanes designed to alleviate traffic congestion. Constructed by Dilip Buildcon Limited in partnership with a Ukrainian firm, the project began in 2016 but faced delays, notably due to the COVID-19 pandemic affecting international collaboration. Inaugurated in phases with the first phase opened by Nitin Gadkari in December 2022, the bridge stands on 125-meter-high steel pylons, signifying India's progress in complex engineering projects. I hope it will be built properly and maintain once it is completely. Not like the recent bridge know as Atal Setu build by L&T ... which is one of the third class planned and built by the engineers of L&T using cheap material... When you enter or exit the bridge your vehicle jumps in the air and with lot of potholes suddenly on middle of the bridge.. Mr. Road and transport minister please check the condition of the Atal Setu and make video of it too

How long is this bridge. Because somewhere I read it is 13.7 lm in length making it India's largest Bridge ever built. A answer will be much appreciated
*Yes it is but only 700 meter of it is over water. Its overall length is 13.7 as you mentioned which is a the length including the carriageway. The rivers in Goa are not as wide as in other parts of the country but this bridge will be the widest in the country and also will go on to become the 2nd longest cable stayed bridge in India.*

Dilip buildcon is building the bridge for last 6-7 years which still far from completion, out of which atleast 4-5 years we the people of Goa suffered a lot of trouble since the regular commute road under the bridge was obstructed due to this bridge work and 1 hour drive from Margao to Panjim used to take even 4-5 hours with traffic jams spanning of atleast 3-4 km. So yes it is a iconic bridge but also when it will be completed that is.
I agree. It has been a struggle to travel from south to north goa for the past 5 years.
My house is 5 mins away from this bridge and just a fact check. We Goans did need a new bridge but NOT such a big mega project. This bridge is not being built for tourism but is being built to transport vast amount of coal as the plan is to make Goa a coal hub and destroy it's beauty. Don't believe me then google "save mollem" where entire forest have been cleared to make Goa a coal hub. As a local I want to see infra development but not at the cost of destroying my Goa.
So what do you want... Should we import coal from foreign countries just like now copper... NGOs will always want to fool public like this... When you have natural resources it can't be wasted... It will generate employment and grow our country GDP... People like are always crying full of negativity

Basically the coal is going to be imported from Australia from the coal mines owned by Adani an Indian business man. The aim is to import 51.6 million tons by 2030 to transport it through Goa to other states for companies such as the Adani Group, JSW Group and Vedanta. We Goans have been protesting against this project for a long time now. If you still like to comment then make sure to first learn and get some facts figured out and then post your reply. I can tell you are one of those guys who come to Goa just to get drunk and litter the beaches with the empty beer bottles/cans and then start eve tease foreigners.
