I don't know if anyone has pointed this out or if you already knew it but I thought I would comment on the name of Telestrations. You said in the video "it's Chinese whispers with pictures". Here in America we call that game "Telephone" instead of "Chinese Whispers" and that's where Telestrations gets its name. It's a portmanteau of Telephone and Illustrations. Fun fact.
I'm starting to repeat myself but you're getting so good at these! The humor you can find withing these crazy characters yet still give interesting information about board games... :) Anyway that Fake artist looks really nice - like a drawing version of Spyfall.
Please, continue to repeat yourself! :) I had a lot of fun with this one, found some characters I liked. Fake Artist is very much Spyfall the drawing game. Probably should have said that in the vid!
Man - this video is such a blast ! You managed to top it even though your other videos are already pretty awesome ! You're on fire ! P.S: I am glad you didn't talk about Concept..
I've been lurking on some of your other videos. I really like drawing games and dexterity games, but I don't think they're really explored by many reviewers. I appreciate your reviews of groups of similar games, as well as the dark humor. Best of luck on future videos!
I love these videos! Entertaining rather than dry, and even as someone who plays all kinds of games there are always new and very cool things to be found within.
THE CHANNEL IS GROWING BIGGER AND BIGGER. I CAN IMAGINE THE CHANNEL BEING AWARDED WITH THE MOST SUBSCRIBERS AND WITH MORE CHARACTERS ESPECIALLY MORE .......... WIGS
Happy birthday good sir! Go out for a craft beer, haha! Another great video John! Have played "A Fake Artist Goes To New York", good game. Glad to see it in this video!
my wife and I love games, and we first know of your videos by searching for good couples games. We stumbled with your video and really enjoyed. Patchwork became our favorite.
I really appreciate the characters and storylines built into these videos. I don't know if the character arcs have much to do with the games or genres, but it doesn't really matter since it's entertaining!
Looney Quest is very similar to "Yoshi's Fruit Cart", a minigame from "Nintendo Land" which my partner adores. Looney Quest wasn't even on my radar, but I might have to check it out.
That was fantastic! The teacher character had me cracking up! I had not heard of most of those games, I'm excited to try them out though as my collection has a stark lack of drawing games.
Your reviews are like happy cartoons on the surface with hidden dark and sad stories woven in... I love it! XD Its so unique and creative! YOU should win and go with Terrance ;P
Haha, I LOVE your comment! Makes me very happy. You've hit the nail on the head. Glad you like the style - plenty more dark and sad stories where that came from ;) And please don't make me go with Terrence, I don't deserve it I'm rubbish at art!
Everyone has a great time with Telestrations After Dark and Fake Artist whenever we play. Duplik sounds really interesting. Thanks for the recommendations again!
The challenge for every game host - trying to serve up the right menu for the specific players. These days I usually have a good idea, but definitely get it wrong now and again!
This video caught my eye because I actually LOVE Pictionary but my husband hates it. I actually think most of our game group is split 50-50. I think of these we'd really enjoy Telestrations and Duplik the most so I'll put those on my to-buy list :)
I added 2 out of 5 of these to my wishlist. i have telestrations after dark and its hilarious fun its neat to get family to play that version because they get so embarrassed. i would say I'm most excited about "duplik", thanks for an exceptional video!
Brilliant. Thank you for the incredible effort that you put into these videos. They are useful and entertaining. Happy birthday. Hope you find some fun things to do in celebration!
I've played telestrations before with invented newspaper headlines! It's great! Fake Artist and Loony Quest both look good - I'm sure there's a resource of good words for a fake artist somewhere.
That sounds great! I definitely feel like the Telestrations cards could up the crazy a bit. I like the idea of coming up with your own unique answers, where the potential of what the drawing could be has a much larger scope.
Will Marcus ever get a date with Emilia? Will Alex be scarred for life after the gallery exhibition? Does Terrence have a job anymore? If only there was another 5 artistic games I could base another video around...
Pretty cool. I might actually pick up a couple of these. I like a lot of the same board games, but it's tough to get new people into that unfamiliar territory like Betrayal at House on the Hill. Something like Telestrations or Pictomania might ease them into thinking outside the mass-market box.
I have Pictomania and it is definitely one of my favorite games. The bit about Terrence drawing phallic objects reminded me of the time my friend brilliantly drew a "dic"tionary!
Happy Birthday! you had a good approach taking each game and provided interesting takes on how each would be appropriate for different [eople in defferent ways - thanks

You not only get a review, you get real entertainment. :) I love this channel.

When I was a kid, we called it grapevine

You take playing with yourself to a whole new level.
Looney Quest would be perfect for my nephews, and fake artist for my friends! Thanks for all the awesome alternative video series and happy birthday!

Yours has got to be the most well-made board game channel on RUclips. Absolutely fantastic video, going to get Telestrations soon
+James Bitmead Thanks James! :)
James! You are the winner of the Loony Quest prize! Please email me at jonpurkis@gmail.com to let me know your address :)
I've had my eye on fake artist for a while now. Your video may just be my tipping point. Thanks for the contest!
I love these videos! Entertaining rather than dry, and even as someone who plays all kinds of games there are always new and very cool things to be found within.
+Kitsunin Thanks for the kind words :)
Great one again. I wasn't sure that I needed replacements for pictionary but those games all looked like a blast

Geek and Sundry brought me to your channel and i'm not disappointed. Binge watching your videos while waiting for season 4 of table top!

Happy birthday good sir! Go out for a craft beer, haha!
Another great video John! Have played "A Fake Artist Goes To New York", good game. Glad to see it in this video!
Happy birthday Jon! Thanks for the video and the contest.
Your characters and humour never fail to make me laugh. Being shown new and interesting games is just a bonus!
my wife and I love games, and we first know of your videos by searching for good couples games. We stumbled with your video and really enjoyed. Patchwork became our favorite.
Thanks, glad you found Patchwork - it's brilliant!
I really appreciate the characters and storylines built into these videos. I don't know if the character arcs have much to do with the games or genres, but it doesn't really matter since it's entertaining!
Thanks, I love doing it - so glad you enjoy it.
Thanks for the great videos John. Every time I see a new one, I can't wait to watch it!
Thanks Dennis!
Thanks for run down on those games. I've been looking for something more casual to play at some of our game nights.
You're my favorite board game reviewer by a long shot. Keep up the hilarious, high-quality videos!!
I love Pictionary! back in the 90s I hosted parties with trophies and ribbons. I was an early hipster. Thanks for a fun view.
Looney Quest is very similar to "Yoshi's Fruit Cart", a minigame from "Nintendo Land" which my partner adores. Looney Quest wasn't even on my radar, but I might have to check it out.
Happy Birthday partner. Glad I stumbled onto this channel. Keep up the great work.
The effort that you put in to these is something else. Loony Quest looks like great fun.
Another awesome little run down of alternatives! Keep it up, that's another few on my list to try! And happy birthday!
Well produced. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Keep the lists coming!
That was fantastic! The teacher character had me cracking up! I had not heard of most of those games, I'm excited to try them out though as my collection has a stark lack of drawing games.
Thanks Ian! Hopefully I can bring the teacher back in another video :) Get a drawing game, they're fun!
I shall do just that. Keep up the good work, I've really been enjoying your videos!
I absolutely love all your videos! They're so original and informational. Keep up the great work
Thanks Alisa!
Your reviews are like happy cartoons on the surface with hidden dark and sad stories woven in...
I love it! XD
Its so unique and creative!
Another terrific video, can't wait to see what you make next!
I really like your channel, You do an excellent job of both describing the games and giving interesting/insightful opinions.
Thank you!
all of these games look really fun. definitely gonna try to pick up most of them
Happy birthday, great characters as usual. Never played anything apart from Pictionary.
I have Telestrations After Dark and every time I play, no matter who with, everyone laughs until it hurts.
I'm really liking these all in one videos, really great to go to one spot and know you'll see a good range of games.
I really like the characters, they make your videos fun to watch
Happy birthday!
This was so wrong, but I couldn't stop laughing! Love your videos!!!
A Fake Artist Goes To New York looks really fun, do you know if they sell refill pads after the initial supply gets used up?
Brilliant! I had only ever heard of Telestrations before so I'm super excited to try out the other 4 games!
Happy Birthday! Another solid video man. Keep it up.
Fake Artist and Loony quest look awesome. Defiantly going to pick up one or both of these.
awesome video again man! Just picked up patchwork yesterday based on your couples video. great stuff
So many of your suggestions have got on my girlfriend's and my must buy list. Love the content and happy birthday!
Everyone has a great time with Telestrations After Dark and Fake Artist whenever we play. Duplik sounds really interesting. Thanks for the recommendations again!
Glad I found your channel when you posted the "alternatives for Cards agains humanity" video. You seem to have knack for this - Keep it up!
Keep up the great work, John! Happy Birthday!
Plus 1 for the Moon poster.
Happy Birthday dude.
This is great game genre to address. My problem sometimes is figuring out which mechanics are right for a given subset of friends
The challenge for every game host - trying to serve up the right menu for the specific players. These days I usually have a good idea, but definitely get it wrong now and again!
I really enjoyed this format and your video. Good job! I'm going to be watching the other videos now.
Great and exactly what I was looking for! Happy birthday loving the channel!
Another great, useful, hilarious video. Happy Birthday!
Thank you for the contest. Keep up the great work.
I really enjoy your alternatives to Blank games lists.
This video caught my eye because I actually LOVE Pictionary but my husband hates it. I actually think most of our game group is split 50-50. I think of these we'd really enjoy Telestrations and Duplik the most so I'll put those on my to-buy list :)

Didn't think drawing could spawn so many interesting games! I'm going to keep a look out for them!
I normally hate drawing games, but loony Quest looks really fun.
Happy birthday, Jon!
Happy Birthday! Another great video! Keep them coming! :)
Another great video! I keep my ear pretty low to the ground, but you always do an amazing job surprising me with some new recommendations.
Brilliant. Thank you for the incredible effort that you put into these videos. They are useful and entertaining. Happy birthday. Hope you find some fun things to do in celebration!
Thanks David! I will play some games in celebration! :)
Very interesting! 3 fake artists go to new york seems like my favourite out of the bunch!
These just get better and better!
Thanks, I might consider some of these. I already got "bring your own book" from your "alternatives to CAH" video
Well I think I know which games to get next. Keep up the awesome videos!
I enjoy your one man show style and, of course, your suggestions for new games. Keep it up!
I might get telestrations as a present to friends family. Looks fun, thank you.
I've been playing this a lot recently. 90% of the time it works all the time.
Laughed pretty hard at the innuendos, good work!👏🙌
This was some of my fav cast of characters. Would love a chance to win!
My wife and I love all of your suggestions, though Looney Quest seemed the best
Wow!!! A fake artist goes to New York is so original!!! Love the idea!!!!
Great video! I don't know what I want to do more - buy Fake Artist or see what happens next in the art class. Happy birthday!
Will Marcus ever get a date with Emilia? Will Alex be scarred for life after the gallery exhibition? Does Terrence have a job anymore? If only there was another 5 artistic games I could base another video around...
+Actualol Reunite them to review The Gallerist!
Haha! Too heavy, I'm scared! I like Fresco, but no plans to review it. I'll find somewhere else to reuse them, maybe not all together.
Happy birthday John!
i knew all of these characters in my classes in college. thanks for the video!
Loony Quest looks awesome. I'll be getting it for my 8 year old niece! Also Happy Birthday.
Great game review. my friends and I play telestrations without the boxed game with just scrap sheets of paper
Great DROHRING games. Thank you for that.
Pretty cool. I might actually pick up a couple of these. I like a lot of the same board games, but it's tough to get new people into that unfamiliar territory like Betrayal at House on the Hill. Something like Telestrations or Pictomania might ease them into thinking outside the mass-market box.
Telestrations is one of my fave games. Duplik sounds fun.
Thanks for the heads up on some great games! Now I am off to Amazon to do some shopping.
grate video.
You are the only board game reviewer with a good sense of humor, the sketches in other review are normally vary awkward and cringey.
I have Pictomania and it is definitely one of my favorite games. The bit about Terrence drawing phallic objects reminded me of the time my friend brilliantly drew a "dic"tionary!
Haha! That's clever, I like it. Now I want "dictionary" to come up in Telestrations.
Happy Birthday! you had a good approach taking each game and provided interesting takes on how each would be appropriate for different [eople in defferent ways - thanks
Looney Quest looks like loads of fun!
Love your videos. Your vids are freaking hilarious and you're so easy on the eyes,
Never heard of some of these. I'll have to pick a few up! Great video!
Sooooo much uncomfortable flirting....reminds me of high school.
The thumbnail says '6 alternatives to Pictionary :3'.
Happy birthday, good Sir!
Thanks for the spot! I have since changed it, but not sure if it will update.
Happy birthday! Another great video! Thanks!
Pictomania got a new edition from CGE! Came out at gencon
Love these alternative videos! So useful!
