I had to listen to this vid twice, cuz I fell asleep the first time. 😊 I didn’t realize that you had gotten out of the habit of walking, cuz your “Exploring Country Roads” video a while back had made me think that it was a regular part of your lifestyle. Glad to hear that you’ve gotten back to it! While theta waves are the ones I experience right before falling asleep, I place more value on “alpha” waves, the ones we have through the normal course of our day if we’re relaxed and mindful. It’s alpha that I get when listening to a great piece of music. No need to feel bad about the frequency of your posts; given the number of hats you wear, business owner, esthetician, teacher, cook, housekeeper, mechanic, parent, it’s a wonder that you have time to post at all! Finally, for me this kind of video is quintessential ASMR, natural, soothing conversation. They sometimes label it “accidental ASMR.” People whispering into a mic doesn’t do much for me, but a well-told anecdote, discussion or story is perfect. You actually should have a bigger audience, but keep up the good work!
Thanks so much for chiming in. And I appreciate you listening to what I was saying, and responding to my thoughts. (even if you had to listen twice) Hope your day is great!
I love these kind of videos. I feel like we are visiting having tea. We got the guilt trips too!! I love holiday lunches too My favourite Thanksgiving dishes are cranberry sauce (I make it but I must have the canned one too) dressing and desserts- this year we did apple pie bars and that worked out so well!! Your Sunday dinners sound so fun!
Oh yum! Kim, does your dressing have cornbread or breadcubes? The reason I ask is- Around here, we have Cornbread "Dressing" or Bread "Stuffing" My family all prefer the Bread Stuffing, but I like cornbread best. Thank you sister! xoxo
@ I use bread but if love to try cornbread stuffing someday but no matter what I do my cornbread is always dry, my great aunt made what my mom called johnnycake and it was delicious and not dry
My favorite Thanksgiving dish to make is spinach and cheese mashed potatoes. Growing up my Grandma Ellie made the dish for every holiday meal. She unfortunately passed away in 2022 from cancer and whenever I make the dish now I feel connected to her. She was a wonderful cook and hostess, always making sure to serve everyone else before herself and constantly checking on our family to make sure we had what we needed to have a pleasant time. Often she was so focused on helping us she only had a few minutes to eat herself. For her though it was never a burden as she got so much joy out of serving others. I will always strive to have a giving heart like hers.
Katie, I just closed a book of poetry by Eugene Field. I was reading through some of his lovely poems before bed. I picked up the phone one last time before I drifted off to dream. As I read your comment, it flowed beautifully, like the gentle, slice of life, poetry that I just read. Thank you for sharing this lovely story with me. What a legacy your precious grandma, Ellie left for you.💕 Xoxo
Hello Lindy. Very much enjoyed this video, mainly because of your enthusiasm! I can relate with getting out of the fitness routine but for different reasons than you. Our sweet old pup crossed the rainbow bridge last month so dog walks are no more. Need to force ourselves out regardless. We still celebrate Thanksgiving though we live abroad. Turkeys are for Christmas Day here but I have located some good farms that have them available in November. We make all the sides and pies from scratch but each of my children take on their favourite dish and bring it on the day. My DIL is lactose intolerant so green bean casserole needs homemade mushroom soup with lactose free milk. My eldest daughter is a vegetarian so the bread dressing has a separate with vegetable stock. Still make sweet potato casserole. The first year here we could only get mini marshmallows, they were pink and white and the pink were strawberry flavoured unknown to us. We still laugh about that. Have a wonderful week ahead sweet lady. Much love from England. xoxo
Hi Susan! It was so nice to read your note! I love your story about the strawberry flavored mini marshmallows on the sweet potato casserole. Quite a flavor surprise! I’m so sorry to hear about your little pup passing away. 💔 Happy that you’re keeping the Thanksgiving traditional alive with your family. It’s always good to hear from you.🥰 Xoxo, Lindy
I so agree that being outside is the best. My husband and I walk our dog every night after dinner and I try to get outside for a bit on my lunch hour(I work from home) even if it’s just a quick walk out to the garden or the fields behind our house. For Thanksgiving this year we’ll be heading to WI to be with my family and my 93 year old mom. It’s so nice to wake up Thanksgiving morning in the house I grew up in and hear my mom puttering around in the kitchen and the smells of cooking. My moms stuffing is probably my favorite or the sweet potato casserole. Thanks for another great video!
Hi Ginny! I am so glad that you responded. And I love the fact that your precious Mama is still around and going strong! What a wonderful way to wake up on Thanksgiving morning.
My favorite side dish was my mom’s stuffing which was jazzed up Stove Top. My mother-in-law makes it from scratch and I will show gratitude for her efforts but it just doesn’t hit the same. I also loooooove jellied cranberry sauce lol. Those are my staples 😊
Yum! Jazzed up Stove Top is delicious! What a sweet memory. Thank you for telling me, Jessica! (and I love that you love jellied cranberry sauce too!) xoxo
I have always loved Thanksgiving because I actually love cooking for large groups of people. My mother in law just recently moved in with us, so I am beyond excited to have her in the kitchen with me this year.
It's good you figured out what you needed -being outside can be so important. I also have found meditation to be very helpful, but I have to do it with pranayama (breath work), so that focusing on the breathing keeps my mind from racing, like it can with meditation alone
@@Southernladyasmr you can google sally kempton or look her up on youtube or her website. She is gone now, but left. many wonderful videos with some exercises that include breath work. She comes from a Buddhist perspective, but her breathwork can be done by anyone of any belief. She never pushes an agenda.
Not sure if this comment is too delayed to be useful, but you're right that cotton is is less elastic than wool! I knit and always have a hard time working with cotton because it makes it difficult to regulate my yarn tension.
Wow that water heater is a cross LOL waaaay too much work! Here I have manganese and iron in the water - no sulfur smell but there is a buildup of corrosion of the manganese, which results in a very dark brown goo buildup on faucets, which you have to clean off periodically - rather unpleasant -rental so I'm not taking further steps but moving into a new house and have been checking out whole-house filter solutions (not under the kitchen sink reverse osmosis - but filters that go in your water main line right after the service enters your house) - these filter out a ton of stuff, including manganese. Installing one of those might remove your odor issue entirely, and provide even better water all around. I'm purifying water for the bugout with bleach but it's hard to measure properly - switching to Safrax which seems a much better solution. Hope you get that sulfur on vacation sorted, or you could fix it all with just a way bigger Wrench LOL 😂
Yes, indeed it is. We actually have TWO filters. One at the well, as well as a whole house water softener/filter in the laundry room. Thankfully, my husband was able to loosen the nut it for me last night so that I could continue with my work. Phew! Hope your day is good!
Hey there, my kindred spirit I have to keep the short, but I’m going through the same thing I have to get more blood work… I never even heard of the tests you had done. I am having the same problem with my thinking I am losing my ability to be artistic, which was one of the most important things in my life so I’m right with you. I totally understand it, though. I think I’m getting a CAT scan not the type of thing that you had done. I’m not even sure I ever heard of what you had done but I’m glad you’re doing Ok and you know what you need to do to fix it and I’m sure it’s the same thing for me. I hope and pray because of being inside for two years ironically it mirrors what you’re telling me it sounds like kind of the same thing. Since having to stay in for two years out of the sun and not being able to exercise be outside and of course, being in the house watching TV, not doing what I should be doing and extreme stress I do believe it all stems from stress you had mentioned that in the beginning and I agree with you 100% Cognitive overload so to speak as far as cooking for Thanksgiving, I like to make pumpkin pie the best and I also like to fry a turkey if the weather allows outside from time to time not every year, but maybe every every couple of years that’s my favorite. It has a lot better taste than just putting it in an oven. Take good care of yourself. Talk to you soon. Love,Esme💕💕 As I try to calm myself down and meditate as you were saying, my face has healed probably about 98%. It’s faded almost completely. All I had to do is dab a little bit of cover-up and it’s fixed. I haven’t been to a hair salon for two years so I went to chopped for 4 inches of hair off my head. Don’t do that!!!! I think I lost my mind for a few minutes lol.
Hi Esme’ So happy to hear that your skin has cleared up! What a blessing that is! And I’m sorry that you’re dealing with the same issue. Getting outside in the sunshine, walking, and turning off the TV and phone make a significant difference. Pumpkin pie! I love it! Thank you for chiming in sister!🎉 I pray for you nightly. 💕
I dont know if you're on any meds, but some medications can really affect your brain. Especially meds that lower cholesterol. Our brain needs fat . As someone who has seen this with loved ones just check your meds folks. And if you can lower sugar intake.
Hi there, You are exactly right about the good fats and less sugar. The only meds I take are HRT. I sincerely appreciate you chiming in. Truly, I believe it is because I have too many inputs (phone) and I wasn't moving enough. I am already feeling back to my old self, now that I have made those changes. Hope your evening is great!
Loved this video ❤ Please post more like this 🌸🌸
Wow!
Thank you.
I could do videos like this ALL the time.
What in particular did you like about it?
@Southernladyasmr l loved the spontaneity of it and it felt like a friendly chat chat ✨️

Happy Thanksgiving!
My favorite dish was my aunt's cornbread dressing. And my mom's oyster dressing.
Oh yum!
What are your favorite dishes to make and eat for Thanksgiving? Let me know in the comments!
I’ve knit with cotton before, the yarn I used held up great!
That is good to know! Thank you for telling me.
I hope to make that video soon.
My favorite thanksgiving dessert is a chocolate pie!
Yum! That sounds delicious, Madison!
Thank you and I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Oh and if you've never tried it, coconut oil makes great popcorn
