‘Tell Me Something Good’ sees the Scottish DJ/producer cover Rufus & Chaka Khan’s 70s jam of the same name, twisting catchy vocals and huge synth stabs into an ecstatic peak time club weapon. ‘Delta’ brings the tempo down, but keeps the energy levels high as piano chords drift effortlessly across a chugging breakbeat and rolling basslines, making for a feel-good closing track to another standout release from Trick.
Me & my daughter LOVE this song. Never laughed so much listening to you and your mam on Greg james breakfast show this...playing the 'tell me something good!

@@mentalmidget1960 YOU WOULD BE OLD ENOUGH TO HAVE HEARD THE ORIGINAL THEN. RUFUS AND CHAKA KHAN WRITTEN BY STEVI WONDER IN 1974. All Ewan did was rip it off and make a fortune out of other peoples talent.
Heard this in Liverpool Sunday night and it was loud, absolute banger shaking the floor with me on it bassline is the best I've heard since 1999.
That bassline reminds me of Groove Armada - I See You Baby. So many 90's sounds in this song. Highly infections and addictive. Love it!! :)
Scouse tune 100%
@@rick_terscale1111 Scouse here 😉.. Yeah tune isn't it? 😅🫶👌👏💞

This track is just layered to perfection and with the soul vibe is just borderline genius. Love it
Me tooooooo cant get enough 😲
I love how the drums dont even come in till half way through and I didnt even realize they were missing in the first place.... Banger!!!! A+++
What really sets this apart from being basic is the usage of those late 80's/early 90's hip hop and rave stabs. Love it!

@@WillyJunior hahaha didn't realise this was countdown mate
Talk about by rain radio is up there too
ORIGINAL VOCALS WERE BY CHAKA KHAN IN 1974
Simply excellent tunage which unapologetically sounds like it could have been lifted straight out of a De Vit set circa 96 without any compromises! Everything from the Khan vocals, the major key Stab (very reminiscent of Future by Mr Monday) and the oh so Belgian Techno-esque drone hovering in the background all come together to create an energy of pure, unapologetic fun and chaos! So many current producers are churning out utter cheese (yes, they're using the 130bpm breakbeat + piano formula of 91/2 rave but there's something still too sadly "new" about all of that fodder). THIS one, on the other hand, perfectly illustrates the very sound of mid 90s Hardbag at the precise time it was mutating into UK Hard House / nu nrg (from the tempo to the timbres) without giving any undeserved leeway to the preppy, entitled tastes of Generation Love Island. As it should be! Amazing work, kudos for giving real, undergoing dance a tremendous resuscitation. You've started something real here, let's hope it's the sound of 2022 Summer of Love!
This was on trade records 😇
Couldn’t have summed it up better!
@ewan mcvicar was this the comment you mentioned on Capital Dance the other day?

Tell Me Something Good" is a song by Rufus and Chaka Khan, written by Stevie Wonder and released in 1974. The single was a hit in the United States, peaking at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent one week at number one on the Cash Box Top 100.[2] It was among the earliest hits to use the guitar talk box, by Tony Maiden... If you like the SONG, thank Stevie. If you like the MIX, thank this guy.
This comment, finally. I was hoping everyone knew that this is a sample, but the top comments didn’t seem like that lol ❤ Chaka Khan forever!
Stop your critiquing. It was dead and forgotten about until this remix reworked and revitalised it. Well done that man.
